dnsmasq didn't crash at all. It just stopped responding to dns lookups. If I
can't reproduce it, it might have been an upgrade problem. I also
reinstalled dnsmasq last time again. But I am sure dnsmasq was running and
just didn't give out dns information any more for some reason.

testing setup on a small server box that also does
printing, samba and nfs for my home network. Sometimes it works longer,
sometimes shorter. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I used the default dnsmsaq.conf (didn't change anything) and I included
the output of dpkg -l below.

I installed Debian on a diskless machine. I mount root and home as nfs from
another machine. The root directory only get's mounted by this machine and
is not in use by any other box.
When I install xserver-xfree86
. Because with cpudyn and on kernel 2.6 they only show 550 to 700
Mhz.

While I would love to have the advanced features of cpufreqd I would
settle for a simple setting with low frequency on ac off and high
frequency on as on.

server in order to get the internal display back on.
This all does not apply to the console, which can be used without any
problems and also reacts to Fn-F7 which switches between internal,
external and display on both. Fn-F7 does not do anything in X.
