Another way to fix this is to set the config value manually.
Here is an example of what I did for ubuntu:

The affected 'netdata' package is built without SSL support. This results in
inability to establish TLS connections to, for instance, master nodes using
URLs like: example.com:1:SSL
The suggested fix is to add libssl-dev as a build requirement.

maximum size of getnameinfo() output is 254 octets + '\0' while RFC [1]
specifies it to be 255 octets.
Easiest fix would be to increase buffer size to 256 but getnameinfo(3)
suggests to use char buf[N
