Sorry i think it comes from my fix : in the postinstall script : yes_bitmaps=yes_bitmaps.conf should be: yes_bitmaps=yes-bitmaps.conf This is fixed in fontconfig 2.3.1-1. http://bugs.debian.org/298540 If user selected no to bitmap , yes would have not been removed with previous broken
