Hi,
you are not using cdrecord but a bastardizd variant that
does not really support to write DVDs.
To verify a real problem, you would first need to upgrade to a
recent version of the official source:
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/alpha/
Make sure to install cdrecord suid root.
