I solved installing the backport made by Bertrand
and with the downgrade of libdrm2 from 2.4.12-1 to 2.3.1-2

I don't know if you still have no hardware acceleration, but it seems that
downgrading libdrm to 2.3.1 (in Lenny, see
http://packages.debian.org/lenny/libdrm2) could give you hardware
acceleration with Xserver 1.4 and Linux 2.6.30.
