Hello again.
For me kernel parameter "vga=792" changes nothing.
But in a custom bootscript I found out that there is at least no
"stairs-effect" when the init-script produces only one line of
output. The effect with the boot-messages messing up with
plymouths status bar still remains.

Hi Daniel,

Yeah, I'd like to try it, but the dependencies are still broken. Plymouth runs
fine without nouveau libdrm when using the text plugin, thus "Depends:" is
simply not the right relation in this case. Please use "Recommends:" for
nouveau
libdrm. Havi

well, live-initramfs currently doesn't have any plymouth integration, so
you should not use a live system to test plymouth in the first place.

Hi,
I could reproduce the problem with the strange output while testing a custom
squeeze debian live cd and the latest plymouth packges from
http://archive.debian-maintainers.org/daniel/packages/plymouth/
using virtualbox.
Adding vga=792 does seem to fix the problem, although I get a

it needs to, otherwise it doesn't work with nvidia cards, obviously.

Hi,
this new release didn't change anything. btw, i don't think that plymouth
should
depend on nouveau's libdrm.

Hi,
i've uploaded 0.8.0-1 to experimental, however, since ftp-master is
down, it will not make it to the archive yet. if you want to test
earlier already, the package is available here:

Hi, the text splash screen looks very odd on my system. It seems that init
prints its messages to the terminal that plymouth uses. I'm attaching a screen
shot. Regards Matthias
