Bug#709966: cannot upgrade to 1.10.1+dfsg-6 on multiarch (amd64 and i386)

2013-05-27 Thread Giuseppe Bilotta
Package: libgssapi-krb5-2
Severity: normal

libgssapi-krb5-2 on amd64 and i386 are at different versions in sid
(1.10.1+dgs-6 for amd64, -5 for i386), but the same version _must_ be
installed for all architectures. This prevents upgrading of all
kerberos-related packages, and packages that depend on them.

Bug#709217: initscripts: checkfs.sh abend on BTRFS filesystem

2013-05-27 Thread Laurent Lemoine
Package: btrfs-tools
Version: 0.19+20130315-2
Followup-For: Bug #709217

Hello,
Just to confirm the bug.

I did the update btrfs-tools yesterday, and the system was arrested on fsck
from util-linux 2.20.1 as steve showed.
It's not dramatic, but it is annoying. It just would have the option -a
passed by fsck does not return an error.

In any case, the system will not boot without intervention.

# mount -o remount,rw /dev/sda3
# /bin/true
# dpkg-divert --add --rename --divert /sbin/fsck.btrfs.real /sbin/fsck.btrfs
Conservation de « détournement local de /sbin/fsck.btrfs
en /sbin/fsck.btrfs.real »
# ln -s /bin/true !$
ln -s /bin/true /sbin/fsck.btrfs

Thank you for the excellent job done.

Laurent.

Bug#706980: [pkg-php-pear] RFS: php5-stomp - STOMP module

But after reading http://bugs.debian.org/673112 I think we can ignore
it. Should we create an lintian override file for it?

Can any DD please check the package?

 Hi,

Hi Thomas, hi Jonas,

[...]

Now, your package doesn't seem to be using pkg-php-tools. Please do use
it (eg: depend on it, and use it in your rules file). I will not sponsor
any new package that isn't using it because of a valid reason. It is
otherwise too hard to maintain in a consistent way. Note also that we
believe using pkg-php-tools should be a release goal for the team.

Unfortunately, PECL support in pkg-php-tools is not ready (#706980).
Help is welcome:

I want a proper solution that run phpize and then let core debhelper
(Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::autoconf) do the usual
configure/make/make install (see [pecl-phpize]). This requires
changing the sourcedir.

[pecl-phpize]: http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.pecl.phpize.php

Besides this, you don't need to do a case in your postinst and postrm.

 if [ ${1} = configure ] || [ ${1} = reconfigure ] ; then

is enough, IMO, if you don't use the other values (your script will be
shorter, so easier to read). Checking for unknown arguments has very
little value. Anyway, pkg-php-tools must be taking care of that, no? (I
have never packaged nor reviewed PECL extensions... others may tell more
 about it)

Haven't thought about that, but yes: pkg-php-tools should add the
a2enmod/a2dismod snipset on PECL packages.

[...]

Bug#709846: synaptic: Download status column vanishes when downloads begin

Thanks for your bugreport.

 Dear Maintainer,

I suspect recent GTK3 updates may be the cause of this issue. After the recent
updates, when viewing the download progress of individual files, the Status
column where the progress bars for the individual files would appear vanishes
the moment the first file begins downloading, however it can be seen briefly
during the short span of time between applying changes (or reloading the
package lists) and when the first file actually begins downloading.

This happens regardless of what GTK3 theme I use, including the default
 (Adwaita) theme.

I'm not sure if this is a bug specifically in Synaptic or if it affects any
GTK3 application that draws progress bars in columns, as I don't know of any
other GTK3 applications that do such a thing to check if this problem affects
them as well. (The only application I'm aware of that does this on my system
uses GTK2 and still works fine.) The GTK3 widget factory application in
gtk-3-examples does not appear to demo this particular widget.

I wasn't able to reproduce this here in my (not fully up-to-date)
box. Attached is a small gtk3 python app that will show a progress
bar, let me know if that works for you.

Cheers,
 Michael

Hi,

You appear to filed this bug against two non-existent packages
(sun-java{5,6}-doc). Furthermore, based on the version number used in
your log, they are from lenny which are no longer supported. So even if
we wanted to fix it, we cannot do it for Lenny.

Thanks, but I’m afraid the stable update rules prevent us
from adding such things normally; updating stable is only
done for security and other grave bugs.

But it’s good to have this here for reference, especially
as you point to an URL from which one, with lots of effort
(including using a newer iceweasel), can find the upstream

Is it possible that cksum used to do a CRC16 some time ago? It
certainly provides a bigger checksum nowadays, so the issue does
probably not appear any more.

Bug#709970: linux-headers-3.8-2-amd64: module-assistant is asking for the headers but they are already installed

2013-05-27 Thread Josue Ortega
Package: linux-headers-3.8-2-amd64
Version: 3.8.13-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,
I am trying to install the vbox module using module-assistant
but it is asking me for the headers of the kernel but they are
installed already here is the trace of the problem whis is
in spanish but I will translate it below

«

module-assistant prepare

o

apt-get install linux-headers-3.8-2-amd64
»

# m-a -t a-i virtualbox
Updating info data files of the packages 1

Reading state informaataion... Done
Linux-headers-3.8-2-amd64 is in its most recent version
0 updated, 0 package to be installed, 0 to delete and 323 not updated(...)

Done!

Bad luck, the kernel headers for the target kernel version could not be
found
and you did not specify other valid kernel headers to use.

However, you can install the header files for your kernel which are
provided by
the linux-headers-3.8-2-amd64 package. For most modules packages,
these
files are perfectly sufficient without having the original kernel source.

To install the package, run:

module-assistant prepare

or

apt-get install linux-headers-3.8-2-amd64
---

The headers are properly installed

2013-05-27 Thread winfriedmuench
Package: dvd+rw-tools
Version: 7.1-10
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

in our Company we are burning offten BackupData on Bluray. So we use a PC with
4 Bluray Drives. In the Past we work on Debian 6.0.7 i386 without X11.
Login per ssh and start 4x growisofs -Z /dev/srX filename.iso so all drives
burn with aprox. 2.7x Speed, same like one drive would do.

Now I installed Debian 7.0.0 amd64 and the speed drops below 1x if I burn more
then one Bluray at the same time. For a Test I install Debian 7.0.0 i386
minimal without X11 and I get the same.

Bug#700287: [neverball] French: Save Replay translated to Sauver un film

2013-05-27 Thread Mehdi Yousfi-Monod
Regarding replay, I'd rather not replace it with
film but you should ask the French people of Neverball's community.

film is the current translation. I am not against changing it, but if we
change it, other strings will have to change too. I believe we should wait
for more input at this point.

Oops. Indeed I do prefer replay. Typing replay+fr on google.fr shows
that that word is broadly used by French speakers. I'm ok with waiting
for more input.

 package: supertuxkart

For reasons I can't ascertain supertuxkart keeps crashing randomly. Also
one of the sprites/karts the monkey Suzanne is horribly mangled.

In like June of last year I was using Debian Sid with supertuxkart
 version
0.7.3 and it worked just fine without any issues.

Maybe consider recompiling a slightly older/newer patch of version 0.7.3
and replacing it with what's now in Wheezy.

This is a known issue, see #619071, #677609, #695747 (and the dozen or
so bugs on launchpad, for ubuntu) for the crashes and #679837 for
 Suzanne being incorrectly rendered.

I'll prepare a backport of stk 0.8 for wheezy users soon. Of course,
if you're willing to dig into this further, I'd gladly accept
non-intrusive patches (i.e. acceptable for a stable update) to fix
whatever's causing this issue in irrlicht/stk.

 Regards,
 Vincent

Like in early June of 2012 when I used STK 0.7.3 from Sid it worked
perfectly. Wouldn't the simplest solution be to just replace the current
version of STK 0.7.3 with the one that was in Sid in like June 2012? Or
are there dependency or security issues I'm missing here?

It took a few months for anyone to discover stk 0.7.3 had any
stability issues and to report it (I certainly didn't, and wouldn't
have uploaded stk 0.7.3 if I had caught this in my testing). FWIW, the
diff between 0.7.3-1 and -2 is misleadingly large; the only change
that took place between the stk version that I uploaded to Sid in June
2012 (0.7.3-1) and the current version in wheezy (0.7.3-2) is that the
build system was switched from autotools to cmake, which I highly
doubt caused this issue. In other words, I feel fairly confident in
saying that it's only a matter of time before you hit the same issue
 with stk 0.7.3-1.

 Regards,
 Vincent
I never had any problems with 0.7.3-1 or whatever the version was circa
May/June 2012. As far as the switch from autotools to cmake I also
sincerely doubt that has anything whatsoever to do with it. My guess is
that more likely you got a corrupted download from somewhere upstream
and perhaps may not have verified it properly. This is probably no fault
of your own nor of the Debian infrastructure as I'm not sure if the STK
site provides checksums or signatures you can use to verify the
download. It could also be quite possible they pushed out a buggy 0.7.3
but I had no problems with it either with Debian Sid nor from Fedora
Rawhide so I'm not sure what to think.

No, it's not a corrupted download. I always check any tarballs I
download from SourceForge with the checksums they provide, i.e. you'll
see that the md5 hashsums at [1] (click on the i icon next to
supertuxkart-0.8-src.tar.bz2) and [2] match.

My point still stands; I'm quite sure that supertuxkart 0.7.3 as was
uploaded to sid in May of 2012 was also affected by this issue. You
can even run a diff between 0.7.3-1 (first version uploaded to sid in
may) and 0.7.3-2 (current version in wheezy) if you'd like, and you'd
see that there weren't any major changes aside from the switch from
autotools to cmake (which is why the diff is so bloated). The root
issue is likely something to do with irrlicht, but since upstream now
refuses to support building with a system copy of irrlicht (they now
only support the use of the embedded/forked copy of irrlicht in their
source tarball), I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about this.

Supertuxkart 0.8 should show up in wheezy-backports soon though. :)

Regards,
Vincent

According to kppp FAQ:

There is no need for the setuid bit, if you know a bit of UNIX®

Severity: whishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: pkg-php-p...@lists.alioth.debian.org

Hi Joey,

For the pkg-php-tools [1] package, which enhance debhelper, I need to
change the sourcedir when building PECL [2] package.

[1]: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-php/pkg-php-tools.git;a=summary
[2]: http://www.php.net/manual/en/install.pecl.phpize.php

The wanted workflow on configure:
- set sourcedir to Foo-0.0.0
- phpize
- pass to parent Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::autoconf configure()
- set sourcedir back to top

The wanted workflow on build:
- set sourcedir to Foo-0.0.0
- pass to parent Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::autoconf build()
- set sourcedir back to top

The wanted workflow on install:
- set sourcedir to Foo-0.0.0
- pass to parent Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::autoconf install()
- set sourcedir back to top

Wanted API:
- push_sourcedir (with the same checks as in
Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::new())
- pop_sourcedir

Or:
- set_sourcedir (with the same checks as in
Debian::Debhelper::Buildsystem::new())

I'm open to any better solution.

Regards

Bug#666129: NMU to latest git?

2013-05-27 Thread Mr Allwyn Fernandes
Hi Lenart,

Just wondering if you are planning to update google-authenticator to a newer
version, as per bugs #666129 and #660188, or if you mind if I do an NMU? I had
built a deb from git HEAD a few months ago, and have the relevant files handy
to submit if you don't have the time to look at it.

Cheers,

Bug#709976: java-wrappers: run_jar() handles command line arguments wrong

2013-05-27 Thread Hilko Bengen
Package: java-wrappers
Version: 0.1.25
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

The run_jar() function in /usr/lib/java-wrappers/java-wrappers.sh
contains the following lines:

   if locate_jar $1; then
shift
run_java -jar $@
else
java_fail Unable to find jar $1 in $JAVA_JARPATH
fi

If locate_jar() finds the specified JAR file, it places the path into
$found_jar, but its result is not used.

Replacing

run_java -jar $@

with

run_java -jar $found_jar $@

should do the trick.

Cheers,

Bug#709926: icu

2013-05-27 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort

Upstream is working on config. options to enable/disable ICU (
probably Graphite2) support, hence we would be able to build the
normal deb with those two, and the udeb without them.

We can apply something like the attached patch (untested) since the icu sources
are only built conditionally.

Then we need to build harfbuzz twice, once for the udeb with --with-icu=no, and
one for the deb flavor.

Package: xfce4-panel
Version: 4.10.1-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

The pager applet is messed up with 4.10 version when using vertical orientation
of the panel.
As stated by comments in this bug report :
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9687 it would be solved by relying on
libwnck22 version 2.31 instead of 2.30.

Could you please ask for the inclusion of libwnck 2.31 in debian sid and make
xfce4-panel rely on it please ?

Bug#709982: RM: gnome-games -- ROM; obsolete, superseded

2013-05-27 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort

Package: ftp.debian.org

Hi,

The gnome-games package was split upstream and we now ship the games in
different source packages. gnome-games is still a metapackage but built from
meta-gnome3 now. The source package plus the gnome-games-extra-data binary
should go away.

Here is the patch now (I have put it into www.debian.org/distrib now instead
  of http://www.debian.org/releases/wheezy/debian-installer ).

I’m not sure that’s the kind of option we want to push on (what is
supposed to be(come)) our main (and short) page of ways to get Debian.
The debian-installer page seemed like a better (initial) place to advert it.

Yes, this was my first thought, too.
But on the debian-installer page, we also don't have the live images listed for
example.
While on the distrib page, they are listed.
So the distrib seems a bit more generic IMHO and therefore I thought it
fits for the win32 installation method as well.

Yeah, that's probably a side-effect of #709796 where ICU support was disabled
in HarfBuzz (they didn't know LO uses it now) after that LO was built...
And which made me file 709926...

I get told they work on reenabling it for debs only, so that will be fixed

Apt reaches depency problems (same also with aptitude).

So, I'm waiting for g++-4.8 to be really available in sid or jessie

 Hi Elimar,
[...]

A bug report should only be closed when the bug has been resolved.

To be honest, which bug? I cant figure out a bug in alsa-utils.

If you don't know how to fix a bug, simply leave the report open.

Some users don't know how to report æ bug.

If you believe a bug cannot be fixed, the report can be tagged
wontfix (which is very rarely appropriate).

There is no bug to fix.

In this case, there are apparently 2 ways to make progress:

 1. If, as your reply implies, the chip is not supported, support
 can be introduced.

As an experienced Open Source user you must know that package
mainatiners are not responsible for writíng new drivers. You must
ask alsa-devel when and in which kernel version the mentioned chip
will be supported. I can support you if you let me know which chip
type is affected. I can then give you some hints on how to ask
alsa-devel when support will be available. As it is a driver problem
we can reassign your bug to Debian kernel package as a whishlist
item but that won't force the development of a driver.

 2. In my case, where the problematic chip is
not the only one and another chip works fine, another chip can be
 made the default.

How to do that is briefly described in the Debian documentaion of
the alsa-base package which was pointed out 2 times in the past.

it would be nice, if you could change the dependency on ttf-dejavu-core

By the way, would it possible to let stellarium also search in
/usr/local/share/stellarium/stars/default/ for further star catalogs? Right now
I'm using soft links in /usr/share/stellarium/stars/default/.

Thanks for maintaining this package and best regards,

Hi all,
i was about to report the same bug. On my machine (how can i get system
information as the one pasted in the submitter's mail?) i get a very
similar behaviour but i found that the culprit seems to be the pinentry
executable hogging 100% cpu (of one core). When that process is killed
i get a message error saying that the pgp passphrase i entered is
not valid, but claws-mail recovers. Deselecting sign from the
Option menu solves the problem and i can send correctly.

Any other info i can provide? tia

dpkg -L zsh | fgrep zshenv yields nothing for me and I did a few
upgrades from 4.3.17-1 to 5.0.2-3 and never run into that.

So I suspect it only happens on upgrades plus some other not yet clear

I also wonder if it may be related to these piuparts failures:

Could it be related to this? I.e. that these upgrade issues only
happen if some of /etc/zsh/z* were changed before the upgrade?

Will check. Thanks for the report.

Please run your example with

Bug#709989: linux-image-3.2.0-0.bpo.4-amd64: General protection fault after I/O on ext3 in KVM

2013-05-27 Thread Vlastimil Holer
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.41-2+deb7u2~bpo60+1
Severity: important

We have experienced several GPF on ext3 with VMs running latest Debian 6.0.7
(kernel 3.2.41-2+deb7u2~bpo60+1 from Squeeze backports). VMs are running on
Debian 7.0 (kernel 3.2.41-2+deb7u2) hosts under QEMU/KVM 1.4.1
(1.4.0+dfsg-2exp).

Filesystem is mounted with options:
noatime,nodiratime,nosuid,data=writeback,barrier=0,errors=remount-ro
(but even just default options causes GPF).

Virtual block device is a raw partition on physical host, libvirt domain sample:
disk type='block' device='disk'
  driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='none' io='native'/
  source dev='/dev/md3'/
  target dev='vde' bus='virtio'/
  alias name='virtio-disk4'/
  address type='pci' domain='0x' bus='0x00' slot='0x08'
function='0x0'/
/disk

We have experienced similar problem with Ext4, I'll submit new bug for this.

I haven't found way how to replicate this bug so far.

Bug#709988: ITP: python-evdev -- python bindings for the generic input event interface

2013-05-27 Thread Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Łukasz 'sil2100' Zemczak lukasz.zemc...@canonical.com

Package name: python-evdev
Upstream author: Georgi Valkov
License: New BSD License
URL: http://gvalkov.github.io/python-evdev/
Description:

evdev provides bindings to the generic input event interface in Linux.
The evdev interface serves the purpose of passing events generated in
the kernel directly to userspace through character devices that are
typically located in /dev/input/.

evdev also comes with bindings to uinput, the userspace input subsystem.
Uinput allows userspace programs to create and handle input devices from
which they can inject events directly into the input subsystem.

Bug#709987: redmine-plugin-markdown: breaks installation of redmine

2013-05-27 Thread intrigeri
Package: redmine-plugin-markdown
Version: 2.0.1+git20130226-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

On a Wheezy system, I've tried to install redmine (2.3.1-1) and its
dependencies from sid, as well redmine-plugin-markdown
(2.0.1+git20130226-1) from sid too, in a single APT run:

  # apt-get install redmine/unstable ruby-railties-3.2/unstable
ruby-activesupport-3.2/unstable ruby-actionpack-3.2/unstable
ruby-actionmailer-3.2/unstable ruby-activemodel-3.2/unstable
ruby-activeresource-3.2/unstable ruby-rails-3.2/unstable
ruby-activerecord-3.2/unstable

This makes the redmine installation fail:

On the other hand, if I purge redmine-plugin-markdown, and the install
redmine (and its dependencies) only, with the same apt-get command
line as above (but removing redmine-plugin-markdown/unstable), then
the installation completes fine.

Perhaps this plugin or its packaging should be updated for Rails 3.x?

Bug#709990: redmine: wrong webrick example command in quick launch instructions

2013-05-27 Thread intrigeri
Package: redmine
Severity: minor
Version: 2.3.1-1
Tags: patch

Hi,

README.Debian reads:

sudo -u www-data X_DEBIAN_SITEID=default ruby script/server webrick -e
production

When running under Rails 3.2, as is the case in current sid,
script/server does not exist.

This seems to works:

sudo -u www-data X_DEBIAN_SITEID=default ruby script/rails server -e
production

... thus tagging patch.

Cheers,

Bug#709991: False Original-maintainer warning

2013-05-27 Thread David Henningsson

Package: dpkg
Version: 1.16.10

Hi!

A lot of Ubuntu packages emit this warning on build:

dpkg-deb: warning: 'package/DEBIAN/control' contains user-defined
field 'Original-Maintainer'

dpkg-deb: warning: ignoring 1 warning about the control file(s)

In Ubuntu we encourage the use of XSBC-Original-Maintainer, thus we
shouldn't warn about it. I thought this was Ubuntu specific, but was
told that I should file a bug upstream for inclusion instead.

So I'm sending a patch to add Original-Maintainer as a known header
field in debian/control.

Bug#705364: perl-5.18-transition?

2013-05-27 Thread Roderich Schupp
Why is this bug tagged perl-5.18-transition (cf.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?tag=perl-5.18-transition;users=debian-p...@lists.debian.org
)?
The buildd errors (as well as the mentioned commits to upstream source) are
in the Ruby bindings
(and were actually caused by changes to the Subversion core).

Cheers, Roderich

Bug#709959: python-gsw: fails to upgrade from testing: unable to install new version of `/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt': No such file or directory

2013-05-27 Thread Jakub Wilk

* Andreas Beckmann a...@debian.org, 2013-05-27, 05:49:

From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

 Preparing to replace python-gsw 3.0.1-1 (using .../python-gsw_3.0.1-2_all.deb)
...
 Unpacking replacement python-gsw ...
 dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/python-gsw_3.0.1-2_all.deb
(--unpack):
unable to install new version of
`/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt': No
such file or directory
 Errors were encountered while processing:
  /var/cache/apt/archives/python-gsw_3.0.1-2_all.deb

This is a rather unusual instance of dpkg won't replace
symlinks-to-directories with directories problem. It's unusual, because
if you look at each package separately, there are only symlinks to
files, which are supposed to be safe:

3.0.1-1 ships:

/usr/share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info -
../../../share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info

3.0.1-2 ships:

/usr/share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/
/usr/share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt -
../../../../share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt

This is what happens then dpkg upgrades 3.0.1-1 - 3.0.1-2:

1) It replaces /usr/share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info (a regular file)
with a directory.
2) It DOESN'T replace
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info with a directory,
because it's now a symlink to a directory.
3) It follows the symlink when creating
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt.

So you end up with two files
(/usr/share/pyshared/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt and
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gsw-3.0.1.egg-info/dependency_links.txt)
installed under the same name. This makes dpkg unhappy.

Okay, so why .egg-info suddenly became a directory? It's because of this
fragment of setup.py:

| try:
| from setuptools import setup
| from setuptools.command.sdist import sdist
| except ImportError:
| from distutils.core import setup
| from distutils.command.sdist import sdist

Setuptools creates .egg-info as a directory (putting some extra metadata
there), while distutils always creates .egg-info as a file. Apparently
3.0.1-2 was built in a non-minimal environment which had
python-setuptools installed.

2013-05-27 Thread Mathieu Parent
Hi,

Attached are the updated patches.

Remaining todo:
- check for --buildsystem=phppear and --with phppear usage
- check for php5-dev builddep when using PECL
- check for ${phppear:summary} and ${phppear:description} in Description

low priority:
- check for builddep when using roles (currently, only php-horde-role
is shipping a role)

The same POST data sent using wget works without a problem.

In this particular case, POST data has to be generated with previous server

As far as I understand the policy [1] I need to declare

Would that be enough to drop obsolete packages?

No. You need to make sure they have no reverse-dependencies and then
either ask ftp-master to remove them (via a bug such as this) or wait
for that to happen semi-automagically. See
http://wiki.debian.org/ftpmaster_Removals

The current version of the cruft report mentioned there contains:

  - broken Build-Depends:

So that would need resolving first.

Bug#476707: Requesting removal of aterm from Debian?

2013-05-27 Thread Axel Beckert
Hi,

I suggest to remove aterm from Debian:

* Orphaned since 2008
* No more upstream-development (Upstream writes[1]: aterm is
deprecated and in a maintenance mode only; there will be no further
  updates.)
* No UTF-8 or Unicode support
* Upstream recommends[1] to use rxvt-unicode instead (which is what
  replaced aterm for me, too)

The only reason which prevented me from filing the removal request
immediately is aterm's Popcon values[2], which raised from 600 to 1000
half a year ago, after steadily going down for years.

Now these do seem to be a part of the new package, so I'm very unclear
why there were all of these errors.

Reinstalling the package gave the following only:

Unpacking replacement lilypond-doc-html ...
Processing triggers for doc-base ...
Processing 1 changed doc-base file, 3 added doc-base files...

So it's just weird - the only error this time is totally unrelated to
the above.

Bug#709997: RM: remember-el -- ROM; obsoleted by emacs23

2013-05-27 Thread Romain Francoise
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

The remember-el package's main purpose is to ship remember.el, an Emacs
add-on that is part of Emacs itself since version 23. It also ships an
assortment of glue add-ons for planner-el, bbdb, etc but these are
likely to be outdated as the last upstream upload was in 2006. So I
think we should remove this package from the archive.

Note: I'm not the maintainer but a previous sponsor, and also the last
person to NMU this package (in 2009). As far as I know, both listed
uploaders have been inactive in Debian for years.

Bug#709998: apt: dist-upgrade and tracker packages

2013-05-27 Thread Bill Carini
Package: apt
Version: 0.8.10.3+squeeze1
Severity: normal

This happens whenever I run apt dist-upgrade (to wheezy). I have tried many
times over the last 12 days or so, using various mirrors in my apt sources
list. Other packages download just fine.

Bug#709947: move libunwind7 to / on ia64/wheezy?

2013-05-27 Thread Peter Palfrader
Hi,

in stable, fsck.ext* fails on ia64 when /usr is not on the /
filesystem[0].

One option to fix this would be moving the lib from /usr/lib* to
/lib* on ia64.

If you agree that is a good option, could you, Daigo and/or Matthieu,
prepare an upload for stable and coordinate an update with the stable
release folks?

Cheers,
weasel
