Being able to physically interact with the touchpad is pretty crucial. How long do you think you will need to reverse engineer the protocol if you would have the hardware? Depending on how long you think you might need, and how much it would cost me to ship my laptop to you (where are you located?), would it help if I simply ship my laptop to you? Bug#680917: roundcube-core: Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible: js/jquery-ui.min.js
2012/7/9 Vincent Bernat ber...@debian.org: ❦ 9 juillet 2012 10:14 CEST, Teodor mteo...@gmail.com : The reason for this broken links is that ../../../javascript get resolved to /var/lib/javascript but the correct location is /usr/share/javascript. Hi Teodor! Hi! We already got a similar problem. The output of ls -l is misleading. You can check with readlink -f instead: I tried to get that with «readlink -f» but it doesn't print anything in this case. This is because ../../../javascript doesn't exist. $ ls -l /var/lib/roundcube/program lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28 juin 20 08:02 /var/lib/roundcube/program - /usr/share/roundcube/program $ ls -l /usr/share/roundcube/program/js/jquery.min.js lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 40 juin 24 01:53 /usr/share/roundcube/program/js/jquery.min.js - ../../../javascript/jquery/jquery.min.js $ ls -l /var/lib/roundcube/program/js/jquery.min.js lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 40 juin 24 01:53 /var/lib/roundcube/program/js/jquery.min.js - ../../../javascript/jquery/jquery.min.js $ readlink -f /var/lib/roundcube/program/js/jquery.min.js /usr/share/javascript/jquery/jquery.min.js I have all these exactly as you noted. However, my report was for plugins directory not for program. Could you check that you get the same output on your system? Also, here is the relevant bug report: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=656886 I think you have the same problem. If this is the case, an history of what versions of roundcube you installed would help to find where the problem comes from. 2012-05-03 14:52:55 upgrade roundcube 0.5.4+dfsg-1~bpo60+1 0.7.1-1~bpo60+1 (at the same time it started to depend on libjs-jquery-ui) Looking at the last message from bug #656886 I see that you assumed /var/lib/roundcube/plugins/jqueryui is a symlink but in reality it is not. Nor is the plugins directory (from var). The symlink to /var is in /usr/share/roundcube: | plugins - /var/lib/roundcube/plugins | skins - /var/lib/roundcube/skins Cheers -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#681002: release.debian.org: Freeze exception for libguestfs
* Cyril Brulebois: Hilko Bengen ben...@debian.org (09/07/2012): I had converted the package to multiarch just before the freeze and only noticed today that I hadn't noticed that the RC bug I introduced (#678977) had been reopened after I had marked it as fixed. Relevant parts of the changelog are attached below. Maybe that's just me, but I found the diff between testing and unstable *HUGE* There have been three minor upstream releases since 1.18.1. The project is based around autoconf/automake (57 Makefile.am files), and much of the source code for the various language bindings is automatically generated, so there are more than a few false positives. If this is still not acceptable, what about a 1.18.2-2wheezy1 that just fixes #678977 (upgrade breakage due to multiarch change), #680885, #680886 (multiarch coinstall)? Bug#681036: dh-autoreconf: CDBS packages fail to build twice in a row
Package: dh-autoreconf Version: 6 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, While preparing NMU for gnome-themes-standard (#661471), I find the package fails to build twice in a row, with the following message in the second round: ---8--- dpkg-source: info: local changes detected, the modified files are: gnome-themes-standard-3.4.2/config.guess gnome-themes-standard-3.4.2/config.sub dpkg-source: error: aborting due to unexpected upstream changes, see /tmp/gnome-themes-standard_3.4.2-1.1.diff.XGhYQM dpkg-source: info: you can integrate the local changes with dpkg-source --commit ---8--- Checking the build log of the first round, I find two efforts to update config.{guess, sub}, one by dh_autoreconf from autoreconf.mk, and the other from CDBS buildcore.mk, trying to copy config.{guess, sub} directly from autotools-dev with backups: ---8--- debian/rules build test -x debian/rules dh_autoreconf libtoolize: putting auxiliary files in `.'. libtoolize: copying file `./ltmain.sh' libtoolize: Consider adding `AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR([m4])' to configure.ac and libtoolize: rerunning libtoolize, to keep the correct libtool macros in-tree. libtoolize: Consider adding `-I m4' to ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS in Makefile.am. configure.ac:15: installing `./compile' src/Makefile.am: installing `./depcomp' mkdir -p . So, no matter how buildcore.mk tries to back up the files, it backs up the updated contents. The debian/rules of gnome-themes-standard is like this: ---8--- #!/usr/bin/make -f include /usr/share/cdbs/1/rules/autoreconf.mk include /usr/share/cdbs/1/rules/debhelper.mk ... ---8--- As autoreconf.mk is included first, it takes precedence over buildcore.mk for post-patches and reverse-config targets. If I insert an include statement for buildcore.mk before it, the problem will be fixed. However, I think it's better to add the include line in autoreconf.mk, so that all CDBS packages should be similarly fixed at once. I've seen SEGVs similar to that which are described and they were solved by freeing more disk space. The upstream bug has a patch, could this be fixed in time for Wheezy? Bug#681046: Some applications are not properly maximized
Package: awesome Version: 3.4.12-2 Severity: normal I'm not sure if this is a xrandr issue, an awesome issue or some general problem due to some widget toolbox such as gtk. I'm using awesome on a laptop with a double screen LVDS+VGA configuration. Total screen size is: 3520x1200 pixels with one 1600x1200 LVDS and a 1920x1080 external display. At least a couple of applications (libreoffice and qgis) are not able to be properly maximized and also cannot be moved on any external screen tag. Other applications (e.g. evince) instead work properly: they can be maximized and/or moved (by win+mouse) within the tag desktop. In order to properly reproduce the issue any of the previously cited program can be used. Note that I have the same problem with both an ATI and a Nvidia card, so it seems undependent on the graphic card. I'm sure it used to work in the past on sid, but I'm not sure if the problem started with a change in Xorg or what. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=it_IT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages awesome depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.6.2-2 ii libc6 2.13-34 ii libcairo2 1.12.2-2 ii libdbus-1-3 1.6.2-2 ii libev41:4.11-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.32.3-1 ii libimlib2 1.4.5-1 ii liblua5.1-0 5.1.5-2 ii libpango1.0-0 1.30.0-1 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.5.0-1 ii libxcb-icccm4 0.3.9-2 ii libxcb-image0 0.3.9-1 ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.3.9-1 ii libxcb-randr0 1.8.1-1 ii libxcb-render01.8.1-1 ii libxcb-shape0 1.8.1-1 ii libxcb-shm0 1.8.1-1 ii libxcb-util0 0.3.8-2 ii libxcb-xinerama0 1.8.1-1 ii libxcb-xtest0 1.8.1-1 ii libxcb1 1.8.1-1 ii libxdg-basedir1 1.1.1-2 ii menu 2.1.46 Versions of packages awesome recommends: ii feh2.3-2 ii rlwrap 0.37-3 ii x11-xserver-utils 7.7~3 awesome suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#677016: resume failure: kobject_add_internal failed for BAT0 with -EEXIST
On 10/07/12 05:31, Jonathan Nieder wrote: Eugen Dedu wrote: Making a git bissect inside these versions will take me ages, especially that the freeze is not easily reproducible and it is difficult during a test to be sure that the freeze does NOT appear. Fair enough. When's the last time it happened? Is the error always kobject_add_internal failed for BAT0 with -EEXIST? It appeared last time two weeks ago, when I was still using 3.3. Since then I have been using 3.4, and no problem so far. There were two errors: - kobject_add_internal failed for BAT0 with -EEXIST and no other message - the error with the recursivity, the acpi function and so on (the image I posted). But probably they are related, since BAT0 (battery 0) is surely to acpi. I tried searching the web for that message but you seem to be the only one getting it in this circumstance. :) Alas. If you can still reproduce it occasionally with some kernel, please report the symptoms to linux-a...@vger.kernel.org, cc-ing either me or this bug log so we can track it. Be sure to mention: - precise steps to reproduce, expected result, actual result, and how the difference indicates a bug (should be simple enough) - how reproducible it is - which kernels you have tested and what happened with each - full dmesg output from booting an affected kernel, as an attachment or link - acpidump output, as an attachment or link - any other weird symptoms or workarounds Hopefully someone there can suggest a way to figure out what is happening, for example by applying some patch or enabling some debugging feature to be ready for when it happens next. Thanks again for a clear report, and sorry I have no better advice. No problem for me, I am glad that it works on 3.4! Complain to upstream instead. I propose to delete « Complain to upstream instead ». We do not know if it will be productive so let's avoid sharing the responsibility for starting heated discussions upstream. +You should also consider if your prospective package is suitable for inclusion +in Debian. The software must of course be legally redistributable, and if you +want it to be included in the main section, its license must be compatible with +the DFSG. I think that that the current consensus is that « in Debian » means the same as « in the main section ». Perhaps the above sentence can be rephrased as follows. You should also consider if your prospective package is redistributable in the Debian archive and if it is suitable or not for the Debian distribution (the main section of our archive). Yes. The version of scim-modules-socket and scim-gtk-immodule should be the same as scim itself. Also, the scim-anthy/scim-canna/scim-modules-table should be updated to work with the latest scim. Excerpts from Debian Bug Tracking System's message of Fri Jun 29 11:21:19 +0200 2012: This is an automatic notification regarding your Bug report which was filed against the xpra package: #678402: xpra: does not run X startup scripts on start It has been closed by Ø£Ø٠د اÙÙ ØÙ Ùد٠aelmahmo...@sabily.org. Their explanation is attached below along with your original report. If this explanation is unsatisfactory and you have not received a better one in a separate message then please contact Ø£Ø٠د اÙÙ ØÙ Ùد٠aelmahmo...@sabily.org by replying to this email. tag 678402 +wontfix quit . Upstream responded to the bug as follows: It is not the role of xpra to deal with starting up the full X environment, that is what tools like winswitch (http://winswitch.org/about) are for. Of course, this is not work of xpra. Where is winswitch packaged in debian, though? If you must do it with xpra, you can always point --xvfb to a script of your choosing that starts whatever you require (dbus, etc). As for that the Debian X session script that starts Xsession.d scripts, ~/.xsessionrc, and possibly some other undocumented scripts I don't even know of it cannot be used with xpra because it insists on starting a window manager. Patching in a 'dummy' session in addition to 'failsafe' should not be hard but that mode is afaik not available. Bug#681018: How about a shell function?
On Tuesday, 10.07.2012 at 02:45 +0200, Christoph Anton Mitterer wrote: That could of course automatically add -n to wdiff,... if it's really needed. It depends on your circumstances, but for use with colordiff it's required in order to catch diffs which cross multiple lines. colordiff processes each line as it reads it and thus the wdiff markers need to appear on each line: that's what the -n option does; you can test this by giving one of your test files a large paragraph of text which the other lacks, compare the output of 'wdiff' against 'wdiff -n'. If your changes are always small and reside within a single line, then 'wdiff' and 'wdiff -n' return the same output. Regarding the bug itself, I don't believe a separate colorwdiff is required. I suggest a shell function instead of an alias, perhaps something like this: function wdiffc () { wdiff -n $@ | colordiff; } That turns wdiffc file1 file2 into wdiff -n file1 file2 | colordiff which works for me. For me, it will always list: British English Chinese (simplified) English Spanish This particular issue seems to be the result of a commit by Rodrigo Moya that makes the Region tab always show specific languages if a GDM localisation for them is installed on the system: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/commits-list/2011-October/msg04043.html Here, as a work-around, I installed the Debian package localepurge which at least only leaves as available those localisations that I actually want to see. Regardless, the above code itself would need to be fixed, because it auto-adds specific languages without making it possible to remove them from the list using the Minus button, which is what would be the expected behavior. Also, rather than attempt to auto-add a multitude of languages to the Region tab, the language selector pull-down list should be restored in GDM; whoever recently removed it from there really needs to get their brain checked. Bug#681056: mdadm: segfault with --grow --continue
Package: mdadm Version: 3.2.5-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Answering questions as per Debian suggestions: * What led up to the situation? Growing an MD RAID-6 array (md127), having to shut down the host. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Assemble the array, notice that grow operation does not continue. Read manual, notice there is an option like --grow --continue . Use this on the array. * What was the outcome of this action? mdadm segfaults. * What outcome did you expect instead? See the RAID array continue to grow. I dl'ed mdadm-3.2.5 vanilla, and mdadm git. Both present the same behavior. Compiling and running in gdb yields: root@kuiper:~/mdadm-3.2.5# gdb ./mdadm [SNIP] Reading symbols from /root/mdadm-3.2.5/mdadm...done. Bug#680742: Re: Bug#680742: Request: Reactivation of RoarAudio support in openal-soft
flum Ansgar Burchardt, (I'm not subscriped to this bug, if you have futur questions to me please Cc me). Given that Philipp Schafft plans to request removal of roaraudio from Debian[1], I don't think it would be useful to revert this change. I offered both ways: O and RM. The RM is *only* because the removed dependencys (not only openal). If they are re-installed the reason for the RM becomes invalid. I will leave the Debian project anyway (currently pawing over packages to new maintainers). But (not yet in public) there seems to a person interested in taking it. Also wasn't libroar-compat2 just lowered from a Recommends to a Suggests? Or have there been further changes in addition to those mentioned in [2]? I don't think so. Please also check the build-depends to be sure (they likely need to include libroar-dev). Bug#681019: colordiff doesn't colourise wdiff output in all cases
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 On Tuesday, 10.07.2012 at 01:52 +0200, Christoph Anton Mitterer wrote: Not sure whether this is a bug or simply a not possible, but when using colordiff like: wdiff .bashrc_* | colordiff on the two attached files... I get no colors. It works on other files, though. I suspect this is an edge case where the particular files you're diffing have content which confuses colordiff's regex parser for wdiff markup. The simple diff is: $ /usr/bin/diff bashrc_* 60c60 PS1='${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[0;31m\]\u@\h\[\033[0m\]:\[\033[1;34m\]\w\[\033[0m\]\$ ' - --- PS1='${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[0;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[0m\]:\[\033[1;34m\]\w\[\033[0m\]\$ ' where one is looking for the 31m - 32m to be picked up, I presume. Note first of all that wdiff is word diff and so the entire string 'PS1' to '$' will be considered a word. Therefore in this particular example, even if the colour markup was working properly, you'd not get much better output that using diff/colordiff (instead of wdiff), because of the lack of spaces! However, to address the actual issue: wdiff produces this output: [-PS1='${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[0;31m\]\u@\h\[\033[0m\]:\[\033[1;34m\]\w\[\033[0m\]\$-] {+PS1='${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\[\033[0;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[0m\]:\[\033[1;34m\]\w\[\033[0m\]\$+} ' which colordiff's parser fails to recognise as wdiff format, even when forced with the option '--diff-type=wdiff'. I presume the existence of '-', '+', '[' and '{' etc. in the text confuses the regex, specifically colordiff.pl 1.0.10 lines 253 to 262 (for detection): # wdiff deleted/added patterns # should almost always be pairwaise? elsif ($record =~ /\[-.*?-\]/s) { $diff_type = 'wdiff'; last DIFF_TYPE; } elsif ($record =~ /\{\+.*?\+\}/s) { $diff_type = 'wdiff'; last DIFF_TYPE; } and colordiff.pl 1.0.10 lines 442 to 445 (for output): elsif ($diff_type eq 'wdiff') { $_ =~ s/(\[-[^]]*?-\])/$file_old$1$colour{off}/g; $_ =~ s/(\{\+[^]]*?\+\})/$file_new$1$colour{off}/g; } I don't immediately see the fix, since I appear to be suffering from regex blindness(!), but I'll record it here in case anyone else can spot it. I have run 'vim -u NONE -U NONE -N' command as fresh user (with empty ~) to ensure that ~/.bashrc and ~/.Xresources do not affect it. If it is set to light, then it does not. I can also change bg on runtime (through 'set' command) to trigger it - xterm, kterm, aterm, mlterm, gnome-terminal and roxterm will have unreadable PmenuSel if bg is set to dark. The only terminal not affected by this (PmenuSel readable when bg is either light or dark) is urxvt. There must be something special about this app. Hope that clear things a bit -- Best regards Mirosław Zalewski -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#643953: Copy of the problematic grub config file?

Bug#680080: Invalidated by dependency: Excuse for mediawiki-extensions
Hi, can *please* be something done about this, so we can ship a version of mediawiki-extensions that actually matches the version on mediawiki shipped in wheezy? What, exactly, needs to be done in/for json-js? Can I help? I’ve got Super Co^W^WDebian Developer Upload Powers. AFAICS, uglifyjs should be unproblematic were it not for nodejs – what’s the problems with that? Can json-js not use one of the alternative compressors? Bug#681066: Botan 1.10.2 breaks ABI compatibility
forwarded 681066 http://lists.randombit.net/pipermail/botan-devel/2012-July/001624.html thank you Well, we talked about that with Jack Lloyd before 1.10 release, and the goal was to keep ABI stable for whole 1.10 release, so this is certainly a bug. Bug#648271: [debian-policy] 11.8.3 Packages providing a terminal emulator says xterm passes -e option straight to exec

(xterm's behavior of falling back on using the shell if | -e had a single argument and exec failed is permissible but not | required.) Does that look like a good change to you? (If so, you may second it.) Any ideas for improving it? (Improvements welcome.) As the upstream author and deb maintainer of evilvte, I think this new proposal is good enough for me. I think x-terminal-emulator is used for a basically well-functioned terminal emulator, not for a full xterm clone. Some xterm-specific features are hard or never exist in some other terminal emulators. Debian policy should limit its definition to the most useful features, not to force other upstreams to rewrite a xterm. Bug#681067: xmonad: fails to compile config file with gold
Package: xmonad Version: 0.10-4+b2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Since a recent update, xmonad won't compile its xmonad.hs. The problem seems to be with the Gold linker, because I get the following error: Error detected while loading xmonad configuration file: /home/albin/.xmonad/xmonad.hs /usr/bin/ld.gold.real: --hash-size=31: unknown option /usr/bin/ld.gold.real: use the --help option for usage information collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status Apparently, there's a problem with the --hash-size switch. I guess this is because my Gold version is too old, but any workaround while the newer version of Gold makes its way to the wheezy repositories would be much welcomed.
