game_data_packager/games/lgeneral.py does check for lgc-pg;
prepare_packages() can be overriden in quake2 in a similar way.

If that become a more generic problem, a "build-depends: "
tag could be added to the yaml files.

Bug#800526: aspcud fails to find solution if optimization criteria are passed for some problems

I think so.

To be sure, lets try to reproduce this in a clean chroot:

 $ sudo debootstrap unstable debian-unstable http://httpredir.debian.org/debian
 $ sudo chroot debian-unstable apt-get install aspcud --no-install-recommends
 $ curl "https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=800526;msg=5att=2; |
unxz | sudo tee debian-unstable/problem.cudf > /dev/null
 $ sudo chroot debian-unstable aspcud /problem.cudf /solution.cudf
 $ head debian-unstable/solution.cudf
 package: amd64%3asbuild-build-depends-boinc-dummy
 version: 6483
 installed: true

 package: amd64%3adpkg
 version: 10325
 installed: true

 package: amd64%3alogin
 version: 20156
 $ sudo chroot debian-unstable aspcud /problem.cudf /solution.cudf -new
 $ head debian-unstable/solution.cudf
 FAIL

Furthemore, since aspcud has no problem finding a solution without the packages
from experimental, I tried to bisect the experimental packages to see if there
was some package in there causing trouble. But bisection does not work. It
seems to be a combination of packages causing this.

Thanks!

cheers, josch

Could you please try to reproduce this issue with the last version of the

Bug#800574: More details and references

2015-10-01 Thread Henrique de Moraes Holschuh
According to this thread in the kernel bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103351

We have a fix for the HLE BDW50 errata confirmed for Broadwell-H,
through updated microcode.

Broadwell-H errata BDW50 fix:
signature 0x40671, pf_mask 0x22, revision >= 0x12

Which would allow us to selectively blacklist only Broadwell with
"outdated" microcode. I can (and will) make a major ruckus about this
set of Broadwell and Skylake microcode updates when it becomes pratical
to distribute them in Debian, but due to the non-free nature of Intel
microcode updates, that will fix things for a small fraction of our
users, so we blacklisting in glibc anyway. Same deal as Haswell :-(

There is also a Skylake microcode update available (dated 2015-08-08), I
can prepare an experimental intel-microcode package with all such
updates if anyone would be so kind as to test it, so that we can get
independent reports of the HLE situation in Skylake.

Bug#796331: Emdebian repository is no longer available

2015-10-01 Thread Elena ``of Valhalla''
The Emdebian archive has been compromised and it hasn't been restored
because the Emdebian project has stopped:

http://www.emdebian.org/
https://wiki.debian.org/EmdebianToolchain

Current crosscompiling toolchains are available in the main archive;
installation instructions are available on the wiki:

https://wiki.debian.org/CrossToolchains

I'm not involved in any of those projects except as a user, but I think
that the emdebian-archive-keyring package is doing exactly what it
is meant to do (revoking the compromised key) and so this bug should be
closed.

I found the same error with _german locales_. Funny is that gitk without
- --all still works.

If I call gitk this way: ", gitk --all", where "," is a script of mine
(see below) to reset locales, all works well.

So that is a locale problem.

Here is the script for reference:

Bug#800589: aptitude: Please make order of classes in the preview tab (and configurable

2015-10-01 Thread Axel Beckert
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.7.2-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

there are occasional requests to change the order of the classes in the
preview tab in TUI mode or in the listings before the "Accept solution
(Y/n/q/?)" question on the command-line.

It would be nice if the order of these classes could be configured.

The currently hard-coded order for the list in the TUI is:

broken, upgrade, downgrade, install, auto-install, reinstall, remove,
auto-remove, unused-remove, hold, auto-hold, unchanged, unconfigured

(The order for the CLI preview is IIRC different, because in the TUI you
see the first classes first while on the commandline you see the last
classes first.)

For example I'd prefer an order by impact, i.e. in the TUI first broken,
then unconfigured, then the three *remove classes, the downgrade, then
upgrade, then *install, then reinstall, then *hold, then unchanged
i.e. not installed recommends and suggests.

My preference for the CLI is not exactly the opposite order, as I still
want recommends and suggests last in the CLI preview, too.

But I'm sure the preference for this will differ among users, so I'd be
nice if it would be two preferences, one for the TUI (and GUI if we ever
have one once again) and one for the CLI.

Package: iceowl-extension
Version: 31.8.0-1~deb8u1

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
I recieved a calendar event in the Moscow timezone, and spent 30 minutes waiting
for others to join. The timezone data is an hour out:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1009894

This is a known issue with the way lightning tracks timezones - it ships its
own copy of the tzdata information, which needs to be updated regularly. Sadly,
it appears Jessie's iceowl-extension now contains out of date information and
most of Russia is now in the wrong timezone, so calendar events are an hour out.

The right thing to compare is the contents of the tarball for which we
document the expected hashes, which is not *necessarily* the same thing
that's in git.

I have now done so, confirmed that the diff looks sane, and committed
the relevant updates to game-data-packager git.

Feel free to do likewise for future yquake2 releases.

I trust myself enough. ;)

Seriously, I have just done

$ git diff ROGUE_2_00 ROGUE_2_02

and

$ git diff XATRIX_2_01 XATRIX_2_03

and could not find anything that looked malicious or even spurious to

In this context, I think it would also make much sense to document the
version (or file name) of the used yamagi game library source tarball
in the package description of quake2-{reckoning,groundzero}-data.

I'd never heard of it until now, but if you care enough about it to ask
the question, then it probably does.

Beware of
though. "game-data-packager quake /media/QUAKE_CD" should package Quake,
downloading the patch if necessary, but should not automatically
download Zerstörer unless the user has given some indication that they
want it.

Are you sure this is not mysql simply taking 10 mins to restart?
What's the output of "systemctl status mysql.service"

That's there because, while it builds and mostly works with 3.6, this at
least used to sometimes hit a bug:
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/Beignet/
As I do not have code to reproduce this
(http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/beignet/2015-April/005592.html),
I don't know if this is still the case; I'll ask upstream.

Are you planning to remove 3.5 now, or only switch the default?

Bug#800590: game-data-packager: support for multi-CD games

Package: game-data-packager
Version: 42
Severity: normal

Currently when someone package a multi-CD game
(e.g. Zork Inquisitor, Grim Fandango, Broken Sword);
user must either:
- have # CD reader where # = number of CD's to read
- copy all data from all CD somewhere (e.g. /tmp)
  before startging G-D-P
- mix the two, copy some data somewhere and
  read the rest from the CD

G-D-P should allow user to scan a whole disk and
then process to the next one to locate remaining missing files.
( many shared assets are duplicated across disks)

Bug#519425: aptitude: man page refers to Apt:: configuration, should be APT::

Hi Eric,

On Thu, Mar 12, 2009 at 09:41:50AM -0400, Eric Cooper was heard
to say:

Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.11.11-1
Severity: minor

The aptitude man page refers to several corresponding apt configuration
variables as "Apt::...", but they should be "APT::..." according to
apt.conf(5).

 apt configuration variables are case-insensitive, so this is a pretty
minor issue. I suppose that consistency between documentation would be
nice, though.

As Daniel Burrows said it is case insensitive, but for consistency I
fixed it in the doc, translations and even code, to try to not get them
creeping back.

Marked as +pending, to be included in the next release. Thanks for the
report.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

I have also been thinking about a --disable-docs option after knowing about
something named linuxdoc-tools-native, which is plain linuxdoc-tools with
patches which hardcode disabling of doc generation. I think an option is the
way to go, rather than those patches.

Regarding docs I also have some changes to no longer generate dvi+ps, but
just pdf, I think that is better.

Regarding the main issue in this report (where docs are built), this will
take longer. I have only done some minor changes in this part and is mostly
as it was when I started caring about linuxdoc-tools. I looked into it and
is a big hack to have docs built, since it uses already installed tree for
doc building, so it needs many things installed at this time. Also, it is in
a 'it works, do not touch it' state.

I need to think more carefully about this and properly understand the
historical code. I will then try to prepare a minimal installed tree for doc
generation, but this will need longer.

Regards,

Bug#782024: cryptsetup: [patch] fix remote unlock of encrypted root when plymouth is installed

2015-10-01 Thread Guilhem Moulin
Hi there,

As a dropbear (in particular its remote unlocking feature) co-maintainer (see
#790125) I'd like to support this :-)

This bug has just been brought to my attention and it convinced me not
to make dropbear-initramfs conflict with plymouth. Solving the problem
at the root seems like the way to go IMHO.

Furthermore I just removed my own ‘/bin/unlock’ hack from
dropbear-initramfs (never released, but enclosed here for completeness)
since I like Matthias' solution better and its proper place is probably
the cryptsetup package.

The presence of such a script is particularly interesting with SSH
since one can use ‘command=’ option of authorized_keys(5) to avoid users
poking around.

However I'd like to further patch ‘scripts/local-top/cryptroot’ to avoid
calling $cryptkeyscript if the standard input is not a TTY. This would
allow my common use-case

  gpg -o - --decrypt /path/to/passphrase.gpg | ssh -F ~/.luks/ssh.conf host

(with ‘RequestTTY no’ in ‘~/.luks/ssh.conf’). See the updated patch
enclosed.  I have also changed

> +   for PID in $(ps | grep -e '/lib/cryptsetup/askpass' -e
> 'plymouth.*ask-for-password' | sed -n -e '/grep/! {
> s#[[:space:]]*\([0-9]\+\)[[:space:]]*.*#\1#p ; }')
> +do
> +   kill -9 "${PID}"
> +   done

to

ps -eo pid,args | sed -nr
"s#^\s*([0-9]+)\s+(/lib/cryptsetup/askpass|plymouth.*ask-for-password)\s+.*#\1#p"
 | xargs kill -9

although I'm too happy with the SIGKILL. I wish there was a cleaner way
to tell these scripts to bail out, but SIGTERM doesn't seem enough for
askpass.

Also, I don't know what to think about hijacking the prereq to pass the
argument. It might be better to use a ‘PLYMOUTH={yes/no}’ environment
variable and the following two-liner as unlock script:

  #!/bin/sh
  PLYMOUTH=no exec /scripts/local-top/cryptroot

Cheers,

As mentioned on IRC this sounds very similar (despite not identical)
to the wrong (or none) descriptions, maintainer or homepage field
being displayed for "Obsolete and Locally Created Packages" I ran into
as reported in https://bugs.debian.org/800570.

Yeah, but at least I can't reproduce it here with the difference
between today's morning and noon mirror push. I'll keep an eye on that
for the next few mirror pushes at least.

Bug#800592: Extension "workaround"

2015-10-01 Thread Christian Weeks
There is an extension workaround provided at the bottom of upstream bug
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1009894:

"calendar-timezones-1.2015a.xpi"

Installing this into Icedove on Jessie does resolve the issue, but you
have to disable cached events and refresh the calendar for the changes
to show up. You can re-enable caching once the events have refreshed.

I hope this helps someone who's confused about what's happening with
Jessie's icedove/iceowl extension.

Hi Azat,

wonderful
>Done using d/copyright, thanks.

this is not really correct.

I see you remove Makefiles in copyright, but why?

that files-excluded needs to be used for non dfsg files, not for autogenerated
stuff that
should be regenerated anyway.
(if you want to be sure you regenerate the Makefiles you can clean them on
clean target)

cat debian/README.Debian |grep dsp
Due to license issues all *.dsp files have been removed from the source package.

find . -name "*.dsp"
./Examples/WinTest/WinTest.dsp
./Examples/ConsoleTest/ConsoleTest.dsp
./Examples/BasicTest/BasicTest.dsp
./Examples/AutomatedTest/AutomatedTest.dsp
./CUnit/CUnit.dsp

so I guess *this* is what you need to remove :)

Hi,

if schroot aliases could be passed as an option to sbuild-createchroot,
then it would easily be possible to do the following without having to
manually open the auto generated schroot configuration file:

 - specify which distribution to use when debian/changelog says
   UNRELEASED

 - specify a mapping between sid and unstable

yes, but I fail to see why you should override CPPFLAGS anyway :)

you can publish the tarball as always, just sign it in a tarball.gpg or whatever
detached file.

how upstream builds the archive is not a Debian problem :)
I mean, use your favourite way, just don't change it too often to avoid
debian/watch file broken

you can also use gitattributes to automagically ignore stuff to export in the
tarball
e.g.

http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-boinc/scripts.git/tree/export-boinc?id=ec52f711cc6d1e3aafdfd9e98b2a941aa602080b

with github as soon as you do a git tag and you push the tag, the tarball is
created.
>Thanks. Finally, I solved like this:

I would have done:
override_dh_auto_build:
dh_auto_build
$(MAKE) -C po update-po

but it is the same

>Is not strictly required for running eviacam.
>The build works fine in both cases.

>I think so. It provides localization for common strings
>(e.g. 'Yes', 'No', 'Cancel', etc.)

oh well, isn't it automatically added by *:Depends somewhere?
you can leave it then

well, consider a person giving you a bug like

"the version X.Y crashes"

you might want them to install the dbg package and give you a stack trace with
some useful pointers inside.

but automatic debug packages are coming soon (TM) in Debian, so you can just
avoid it
(although it is a nice learning experience)

cheers,

(sorry for the delay, let me know as soon as you have something on mentors, I
guess this involves
a new upstream minor release or a bunch of debian/patches)

Bug#800601: RM: apper -- ROM; Temporary removal for KF5 transition

2015-10-01 Thread Matthias Klumpp
Package: ftp.debian.org

Hi!
Please remove the apper package from unstable temporarily, to allow the KF5
transition to be completed.
See bug #797948 for more information.
The Apper KF5 port isn't expected to be ready soon (snapshot of it is available
in experimental), and therefore in order to not delay the other transitions,
dropping apper temporarily is our best option.

Bug#800599: transition: evolution-data-server 3.18

2015-10-01 Thread Andreas Henriksson
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Hello.

For updating evolution-data-server to 3.18.0 (as packaged in
experimental) a transition is needed.
There is already an auto tracker set up at:
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-evolution-data-server.html

I've rebuilt sid reverse build-dependencies (except libreoffice which is
unaffected):

almanah_0.11.1-1.dsc
bijiben_3.18.0-1.dsc
ekiga_4.0.1-6.dsc
eweouz_0.10.dsc
folks_0.11.1-2.dsc
glabels_3.0.1-4.1.dsc
gnome-calendar_3.16.2-1.dsc
gnome-contacts_3.18.0-1.dsc
gnome-panel_3.18.0-1.dsc
gnome-phone-manager_0.69-2.dsc
jana_0.0.0+git20091215.9ec1da8a-3.dsc
mail-notification_5.4.dfsg.1-14.dsc
roger-router_1.8.9-5.dsc
ls: cannot access sflphone_*.dsc: No such file or directory
syncevolution_1.4.99.4-4.dsc
ls: cannot access evolution-ews_*.dsc: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access evolution-ews_*.dsc: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access evolution-mapi_*.dsc: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access evolution-rss_*.dsc: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access evolution-webcal_*.dsc: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access evolution_*.dsc: No such file or directory
gnome-shell_3.16.3-2.dsc
abiword_3.0.1-4.dsc

sflphone failure seems unrelated to e-d-s, looks NMU-maintained and it
has no reverse dependencies.
I'd suggest handling with a temporary removal from testing for now.

evolution{,-ews,-mapi} needs sourceful uploads to latest upstream stable
release. I'll prepare these in experimental for now.

evolution-rss fails... It has no reverse dependencies.
I'd suggest handling with a temporary removal from testing for now.

evolution-webcal fails... I can't find upstream location. No reverse
dependencies.
I'd suggest handling with a temporary removal from testing for now.

You can install the package providing the virtual one, at least, I
guess? Then frameworkintegration should be installable.

Does apt-get install frameworkintegradion work? I already have the
base packages installed and cannot remove, so cannot test it easily.

Bug#799268: RFS: ck/1.6.2 [ITP]

2015-10-01 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
Hi Grigori,

>By the way, I also uploaded python3-ck:

>https://mentors.debian.net/package/python3-ck

this is a nack for me.

You can build two binaries with the same source package, look e.g. to
https://sources.debian.net/src/python-esmre/0.3.1-3/

this includes:
compat level --> 9
debhelper >= 9
ITP bug?
rules --> export PYBUILD_NAME and use pybuild
control --> add python3 dependencies and the package
changelog --> rename it to ck?

and maybe something more.

For sure you need to have the same codebase and two binaries.
(mentors/lintian can give you hints about what you need to change).

Since you are providing one binary and two libraries, you might want to
conflict them each other

BTW
copyright needs some care:
ck/repo/module/web/php/openme.php: *No copyright* LGPL (v2.1 or later)

and maybe others.

Version: 4.2.1-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

linux-image-4.2.0-1-octeon panics on boot on an EdgeRouter Pro
(UBNT_E200) board, because of a missing workaround:

[1.001113] Kernel panic - not syncing: OCTEON II DCache prefetch workaround
not in place (cfac).
[1.001113] Please build kernel with proper options (CONFIG_CAVIUM_CN63XXP1).

Enabling CONFIG_CAVIUM_CN63XXP1 indeed solves the problem. Note that the
workaround has been there for a long time, but the lack of it triggers a
panic on affected boards only since 4.1.

Bug#800600: RFS: arrayfire/3.1.2+dfsg1-2

2015-10-01 Thread Ghislain Vaillant

Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "arrayfire"

* Package name: arrayfire
  Version : 3.1.2+dfsg1-2
  Upstream Author : ArrayFire Development Group
* URL : http://arrayfire.com/
* License : BSD
  Section : science

It builds those binary packages:

  libarrayfire-cpu-dev - Development files for ArrayFire (CPU backend)
  libarrayfire-cpu3 - High performance library for parallel computing
(CPU backend)
  libarrayfire-cpu3-dbg - Debugging symbols for ArrayFire (CPU backend)
  libarrayfire-doc - Common documentation for ArrayFire

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/arrayfire

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/a/arrayfire/arrayfire_3.1.2+dfsg1-2.dsc

Changes since the last upload:

  * Use generic BLAS / LAPACK build dependencies instead of OpenBLAS:
- d/control: replace libopenblas-dev with libblas-dev | libblas.so +
  liblapack-dev | liblapack.so,
- d/p/fix-cblas-detection: detection of BLAS in upstream cmake find
  module.
Reason: libopenblas-dev is not available for all architectures.
  * Remove source override on docs/highlight.pack.js.
Reason: source file(s) no longer distributed.

Best regards,
Ghislain Vaillant

Dear Maintainer,

The EdgeRouter Pro 8 (UBNT_E200) board, already supported by the Debian
kernel, has a 4GB on-board eMMC card for use as main storage. The card
is wired to the Octeon MMC controller, which is unsupported by the
mainline kernel. However, there is an out-of-tree patch[1] adding

verified that it indeed works correctly.

Please consider including the patch and enabling CONFIG_OCTEON_MMC for

I have read about it in the manpage for the quake command and was then
reminded that this was a big thing "back then". ;)

That doesn't work as qtbase-abi-5-4-2 is a virtual package and you
cannot install it.

$ aptitude search qtbase-abi-5-4-2
v   qtbase-abi-5-4-2

$ sudo aptitude install qtbase-abi-5-4-2
No packages will be installed, upgraded, or removed.
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 0 B of archives. After unpacking 0 B will be used.

So you can see, we cannot do anything till it comes or
framworkintegration comes without it.

Bug#800603: network-manager: NetworkManager segfaults because of null pointer dereferencing when terminating

2015-10-01 Thread Gard Spreemann
Package: network-manager
Version: 1.0.6-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

On my system, NetworkManager segfaults when terminating, for example
when the system shuts down or when the service is stopped or restarted
by the user.

A backtrace reveals that the segfault is caused by null pointer
dereferencing on line 776 of src/nm-manager.c. Nearby code is

static void
check_if_startup_complete (NMManager *self)
{
NMManagerPrivate *priv = NM_MANAGER_GET_PRIVATE (self);
GSList *iter;

if (!priv->startup) // <--- Line 776.
return;

and a core dump reveals that priv is in fact a null pointer when
"systemctl stop network-manager.service" is issued on my system.

NM seems otherwise to work as normal, and I have only seen the
segfault when it is asked to terminate. I have not had time to
investigate any further.

Bug#800605: v4l2loopback-dkms: Can't pipe modified video stream to a loopback device

2015-10-01 Thread Roland Mas
Package: v4l2loopback-dkms
Version: 0.9.1-2
Severity: normal

I'm trying to intercept a video stream from a webcam and crop it a bit
before passing it on for further processing. I found v4l2loopback,
which sounds like it's exactly what I'm looking for. However, I get
crashes as soon as I try to insert processing in the pipeline.

The following works:

,
| $ gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src device=/dev/video0 ! v4l2sink device=/dev/video1
`

(Works as in I'm able to see the video with "gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src
device=/dev/video1 ! xvimagesink")

The following, however, doesn't (I added some debugging):
,
| $ gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src device=/dev/video0 ! videocrop left=160 ! v4l2sink
device=/dev/video1

I am not sure what exactly is happening. Do you have solution? or not.

At least it works here with the URL mentioned.

Bug#800445: nf_conntrack: table full, dropping packet

2015-10-01 Thread C . Dominik Bódi
severity: grave

I've got the same problem on my debian unstable system. I'm running shorewall,
as well. 4.1 kernels seem to run fine but the latest 4.2 kernel in unstable
shuts the firewall completely. I'm seeing the same error messages in dmesg, as
well.

This makes a server unusable, as the firewall effectively shuts down all
networking. Thus the severity of this bug report should be raised to "grave"

In my case the emergency shell was never giving prompt after logging in
so it was of no use at all. Only way to get into emergency shell using
systemd.unit=emergency.target but there was no indication it was faulty
fstab entry which was causing error. My LVM home partition was not
activated at all.

RRS found weird entry in my fstab which had mount option
x-systemd.automount, I was also not sure why I put it there but removal
of that option made system boot again. So giving more hints and debug
entries on what really went wrong during boot could improve usability of
systemd a lot.

Hi Moritz and all pkg-java members,

I am wondering if it is better to upgrade groovy to the latest version
(2.4.5 as of now) and drop groovy2, and migrate all build-rdeps of old
Groovy 1.x to using a separate groovy-1.8 or groovy-1.9 package if
necessary. In the end that we get rid of groovy and remain a groovy2
package seems odd. Anyway BND, Maven are under the similar transition.
Since GSoC I have been maintaining Gradle in Debian so I am happy and
willing to do the transition.

Cheers,

Bug#800608: mapiprofile: has no secure way to accept password

2015-10-01 Thread Michael Gold
Package: openchangeclient
Version: 1:2.2-7
Severity: wishlist

mapiprofile and openchangeclient want the password to be passed on the
command line, which in most systems is visible to other users (e.g. in
"ps aux" output). It's secure on Linux if /proc is mounted with the
hidepid option, but that's not the default and can break other software.

The programs should have a way to read the password from an environment
variable or a file (possibly a /dev/fd path referring to an unlinked
tmpfs file).

Devel::Confess is meant as a debugging aid. It can be used to make a script
complain loudly with stack backtraces when warn()ing or die()ing. Unlike
other similar modules (e.g. Carp::Always), it includes stack traces even when
exception objects are thrown.

The stack traces are generated using Carp, and will work for all types of
errors. Carp's "carp" and "confess" functions will also be made to include
stack traces.

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.

annoying.

I don't know since how long, but I think that this is already behaving

Bug#357707: feature request: Mark packages as Download Only

2015-10-01 Thread Manuel A. Fernandez Montecelo

Control: tags -1 + moreinfo

Hi Micha,

2006-03-19 03:57 Micha:

Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.1

Hello,

I use aptitude to control a cache that is a repository (or proxy cache).
On a LAN of several laptops and PCs, i use aptitude with apt sources
pointing to a dedicated 'apt-proxy' packages server, within the LAN,
which delivers packages from a cache, requesting them from internet
sources only if necessary.

The proxy allows fine-tuning of the versions to keep available locally,
and is speeding up download very much for any further than the first one.
It is very confortable to update different laptops this way, at LAN speed.
Especially if your download link is only ADSL1000, which is quite widepsread
nowadays in Europe.

Another cool thing is, i can install apt-proxy on a laptop, too, and use that
to do
updates or even installations on boxes which have no internet connection at
all (or maybe only modem dialup per phoneline).

I think it would be possible to do nearly the same with a simple /var/cache/apt
only, configuring that as LAND repository for the other machines.

Anyway. The problem is i have to provide all necessary packages on this laptop,
which menas o have top keep lots of installed which i never there.
I
i could mark packages in aptitude on the PC with the main packages server
as 'Download Only' then i could mark anything i ever may need, on any laptop
or machine to install, and then just copy the cache to a laptop (eventually
running
apt-proxy too) when i need it anywhere else, at places with no [fast]
connection.

Another benefit is, i could do the 'slow' regular update from the internet
sources
once at one computer, where updating laptops would always run at LAN speed.
It also relieves much load from the WAN link, too (this is a WLAN behind a
router,
shaed by several parties).

The 'download only' marker would imply that it is not installed, so it's a kind
of
special 'update' flag, with no dependency trigger: Of course, only a previously
installed version would be relevant for depencency management.
I don't know how that could be implemented in the aptitude package database.
Best would be, not at all :) just add the flag and regard this when performaing
any update actions.

Possibly I am missing something, but isn't it more practical to have a
simple list of packages that you want to download in a text file, and
"aptitude download"them on demand, to keep them fresh (or the same with
apt)?

Additionally, if you use /var/cache/apt/archives as download area, the
auto-clean commands will clean older versions, and should you need to
install them in the machine where you download them, they will be
already there.

As I said, possibly I am missing something, but I don't see the need of
more special machinery in this case.

If you need more complex solutions there are also apt-cacher,
apt-cacher-ng, approx and probably many others to use as proxys/caches
-- I don't have experience with them, but many people use them for
similar use cases.

Cheers.

between, I identified 5ce70917df75f87c89a9b1e9d0583ae4135f0b2c as very
likely being the cause. It appears to improperly remove test.gresource
from the build. The rules are removed for cross compilation, but the
dependency (via "test_data = test.gresource") is still there.

It seems to me that there are two possible ways to move forward.
 a) Revert the breaking commit.
 b) Remove test.gresource from test_data for cross compilation.

Hi, I could own the bug no problem, just I would like to avoid stealing the
package to Helmut!

I did some new testing, and I'm really unsure about the upgrade procedure.

I tried to install dropbear from jessie and then install the deb files.

some issues:

- dpkg shows that a default configuration file has changed, asking me how to
proceed

- there is a lintian error about conf files in usr (that might be mounted in
read only mode) (this is an old issue)

since I'm unsure about the first, and since I need to dpkg -f the files, I
would like to ask you to go for experimental and wait for some automatic
piuparts test

(or manual of course).

I know I asked you to go for unstable, but I'm not confident enough about my
review

(and I can't run piuparts successfully).

sorry,

I am not sure how it was the situation when you filed this request, but

Which is what libblas-dev | libblas.so is supposed to do (default to
libblas-dev if no existing libblas.so). FYI, There are other packages
adopting the same technique (see c.d.n).

Tested both on my local machine which has libopenblas-dev installed and
a chroot which then installs libblas-dev and liblapack-dev.

As a result, the binary package gets a Depends on libblas3 |
libblas.so.3 and a liblapack3 | liblapack.so.3, which is generic way of
handling blas and lapack via update-alternatives.

I think this is the most interesting part, and I'm a bit puzzled by this, the
session name indicates a consolekit session, afaik. But even after installing
consolekit I still have the normal systemd sessions naming (just numbers),
disabling libpam-systemd I got no session name, but still no consolekit
session naming.

Do you have any consolekit related configuration?

Is the problem consistently reproducible whenever you log out or its was a one
time error?

Does the problem go away if you boot your machine after removing consolekit?

Happy hacking,

unblocked various transitions for the Debian GIS team by trigging the
gdal transition.

While I haven't followed the gfortan module transition progress, I think
that's also done by now.

the problem with the gfortran transitions is that we can't detect them. We have
to encode the gfortran module version into the dependencies of the -dev
packages. I think I did that for grib-api, but I can't find my patch anymore ...

Bug#752783: I think I found the solution / workaround

2015-10-01 Thread Attila-Mihály Balázs
For the first problem (unix sockets not working with mod_proxy_uwsgi),
the following patch solved the problem for me:
http://lists.unbit.it/pipermail/uwsgi/2015-September/008185.html

Until that lands, I found the following work-around:
- change "socket" to "http-socket" in uwsgi.ini (so that uwsgi speaks
http instead of the uwsgi protocol)

- use "vanilla" mod_proxy_http over unix domain sockets:

ProxyPass "/foo" "unix:/var/run/uwsgi/foo.socket|http://uwsgi-uds-foo/;

- the problem with the port not being parsed when TCP was being used was
fully PEBCAK - I had a different virtualhost config getting activated
than the one I believed was getting activated. mod_proxy_uwsgi properly
parses and uses the port for TCP connections.

Regards,
Attila

PS. Apparently, if you have multiple instances of uwsgi you want to
connect to, you need to specify different names for them (ie.
"http://uwsgi-uds-foo/;, "http://uwsgi-uds-bar/;, etc), having just
different paths to the sockets will not work.

Does the problem solves itself if you upgrade the sddm version to 0.12.0-4 ?

Bug#800618: [ycmd] C++ checker reports errors not being able to find standard header (stddef.h)

2015-10-01 Thread Jan Hudec
Package: ycmd
Version: 0+20150804+git6f4dbb4-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Since some recent update (not completely sure which, but clang to 3.6,
probably) the C++ checker started to show spurious errors. When I create a
trivial test.cpp containing:

#include

int main()
{
return 0;
}

and open it with vim with vim-youcompleteme enabled, I get error

 1 test.cpp:1 col 10 error: 'stddef.h' file not found

The error does _not_ happen when I try to simply compile the file with
clang++, so it has to be something in the way ycmd sets up the compilation.

:YcmDebugInfo gives me:

Printing YouCompleteMe debug information...
-- Server has Clang support compiled in: True
-- Clang version: Debian clang version 3.6.2-1 (tags/RELEASE_362/final) (based
on LLVM 3.6.2)
-- Flags for /tmp/test.cpp loaded from /usr/lib/ycmd/ycm_extra_conf.py:
-- ['-Wall', '-Werror', '-Wno-long-long', '-Wno-variadic-macros', '-
fexceptions', '-std=c++11', '-x', 'c++', '-isystem',
'/usr/lib/ycmd/ycmd/../clang_includes']
-- Server running at: http://127.0.0.1:36412

-- Server logfiles:
--   /tmp/ycm_temp/server_36412_stdout.log
--   /tmp/ycm_temp/server_36412_stderr.log

If I manually use the listed flags with clang++, it still compiles the test
file fine.

I have removed all other versions of gcc then 5.2.1 and all other versions of
llvm and clang then 3.6.2 except libclang-3.5 remains installed because
doxygen still depends on it. But ycmd appears to correctly use libclang-3.6.

Bug#800620: Requires both python 3.4 and 3.5

2015-10-01 Thread Yuri D'Elia
Package: python3-numpy
Version: 1:1.9.2-2
Severity: normal

Why 1.9.2-3 is requiring two python3 runtimes at the same time?
This seems an unexpected regression compared to 1.9.2-2.

Also, is the explicit dependency on python3.4 required, given the two other
python3 versioned dependencies?

Running with sysv init, and no desktop environment (awesome only).
If there is anything I can do that helps to debug this, let me know.

Bug#214244: aptitude: add depends for auto-upgraded packages also

2015-10-01 Thread Manuel A. Fernandez Montecelo

Control: tags -1 + moreinfo

Hi Radim,

2003-10-05 17:17 Radim Kolar:

Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.13-2
Severity: wishlist

aptitude prints depend information with -D switch, this is a usefull
feature, which is badly missing from apt.

But depend information is printed only for:
1) The following NEW packages will be automatically installed:
2) The following packages will be automatically REMOVED:

but this depend information is not printed for auto-upgraded packages
- The following packages will be upgraded:

That is because there is no distinction in the code between manually and
automatically upgraded (or downgraded). This would probably be very
complex and it's not going to be looked at immediately.

It can be easily implemented for all upgraded or downgraded, but since
-D is supposedly only for automatically changed, I don't know if it
makes sense to do the change under these conditions.

 -DShow the dependencies of automatically changed packages.

Cheers.
