Bug#894419: ITP: libauthen-u2f-perl -- pure Perl U2F server library

2018-03-29 Thread Xavier Guimard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Xavier Guimard

* Package name: libauthen-u2f-perl
  Version : 0.003
  Upstream Author : Robert Norris
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Authen-U2F
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : pure Perl U2F server library

Authen::U2F provides the tools needed to add support for U2F in an application.

This module does not handle the wire encoding of U2F challenges and response,
as these are different depending on the U2F host you're using and the style of
your application. In the examples dir there are scripts that implement the 1.0
wire format, used by Yubico's libu2f-host, and a Plack application that works
with Google's JavaScript module.

Ah. Thanks. That I can do.
And I will inspect the wording in the project source code
for those words in the likely case I've used them incorrectly somewhere.

Thanks for repeating that link to Configure Terms and History.

  Description : iconic bitmap font to use on status bars

siji is a fork of the no longer maintained "Stlarch" fonts, with
additional glyphs.

It contains most icons one would like to display on a status bar.

siji is a dependency of "polybar" (ITP #856179). It is used in the
default config upstream uses, I would like to stay as close as possible
from that default config.

I intend to maintain this package with the Debian Fonts Task Force team.

Can you try creating a new user and trying to log in as that user? There might
be something going on with your specific user configuration (do you have any

On hurd-i386, it is an unfortunate confluence of borderline behaviors.
Basically, what happens is that the SIGCHLD signal is catched by the
thread started by timer_create(). I'll give a try at masking signals so
main() does catch the signal.

The Java API for XML-Based Web Services (JAX-WS) provides the API
specification for creating web services, particularly SOAP services.

Bug#894408: briquolo: please implement a way to increase/decrease audio volume inside the game

2018-03-29 Thread Francesco Poli (wintermute)
Package: briquolo
Version: 0.5.7-8
Severity: wishlist
Tags: upstream

Hello,
thanks for maintaining this nice breakout game in Debian!

It seems to me that there is no way to increase or decrease the
audio volume from inside the game.

This means that, before playing, I have to start alsamixer, set a
suitable Master channel level, then start briquolo.
Also, after quitting from briquolo, I have to again use alsamixer
in order to set the previous Master channel level (the one that is
suitable for any other application that uses the sound card).

This is inconvenient.

I hope that a volume level for sound effects may be easily implemented,
for instance in the settings menu.
This volume level should set the amplification for sound effects,
without changing alsamixer levels or anything else outside
the game.

Please implement this feature and/or forward this bug report upstream,
as appropriate.

Thanks for your time!
Bye.

Bug#873086: ifupdown script disables IPv6 on parent of VLAN interface

2018-03-29 Thread Paul LeoNerd Evans
Package: bridge-utils
Version: 1.5-13+deb9u1
Followup-For: Bug #873086

I've just ran into this same bug.

I believe the proble comes from line 63 of /lib/bridge-utils/bridge-utils.sh

   63   dev="${port%.*}"

because this runs in a function within the containing script, it alters
the value of $dev. This bug can be fixed by simply adding the 'local'
keyword; thus making the line

local dev="${port%.*}"

to localise the value to within that one function, stopping it breaking
the containing code.

I can send a patch if required.

Bug#894403: linux-image-4.14.0-0.bpo.3-amd64: NAT66 (IPv6 SNAT masquerade) does not rewrite source address on kernel 4.14

2018-03-29 Thread Rob Andrews
Package: src:linux
Version: 4.14.13-1~bpo9+1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I use Docker for application segregation on a remote server. The host has a
single v4 and a single v6 IP address allocated. On the host system, I have
NAT66 (SNAT, masquerading) setup with the following rules in order to provide
segregated IPv6 connectivity to Docker containers:

Chain PREROUTING (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
 pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

0 0 DOCKER all anyany anywhere anywhere
 ADDRTYPE match dst-type LOCAL

Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
 pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
 pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

0 0 DOCKER all anyany anywhere anywhere
 ADDRTYPE match dst-type LOCAL

Chain POSTROUTING (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
 pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

0 0 MASQUERADE  all  anydocker0  anywhere anywhere
   ADDRTYPE match src-type LOCAL
0 0 MASQUERADE  all  any!docker0  fd00:bee:cafe::/64   anywhere

Chain DOCKER (2 references)
 pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

On the standard stretch 4.9.x kernel, NAT66 works just fine as witnessed by
this tcpdump of a ping (note that the 2001:: address is that of the record
for debian.org):

  % sudo tcpdump -i ens3 -n 'not tcp and not udp'
  tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode
  listening on ens3, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 262144 bytes

  19:56:24.988597 IP6 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4 > 2a03:my:machines:v6:addr:
ICMP6, echo reply, seq 0, length 64
  19:56:25.981716 IP6 2a03:my:machines:v6:addr > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 1, length 64
  19:56:25.989010 IP6 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4 > 2a03:my:machines:v6:addr:
ICMP6, echo reply, seq 1, length 64
  19:56:26.982894 IP6 2a03:my:machines:v6:addr > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 2, length 64
1  9:56:26.990022 IP6 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4 > 2a03:my:machines:v6:addr:
ICMP6, echo reply, seq 2, length 64

Whilst on the backports kernel 4.14.x, NAT66 fails to rewrite the source
address, and all IPv6 traffic (not just ICMP) fails as a result:

  % sudo tcpdump -i ens3 -n 'not tcp and not udp'
  tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode
  listening on ens3, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 262144 bytes
  20:00:39.711554 IP6 fd00:bee:cafe::242:ac11:2 > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 0,length 64
  20:00:40.712591 IP6 fd00:bee:cafe::242:ac11:2 > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 1,length 64
  20:00:41.713768 IP6 fd00:bee:cafe::242:ac11:2 > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 2,length 64
  20:00:42.714934 IP6 fd00:bee:cafe::242:ac11:2 > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 3,length 64
  20:00:43.716088 IP6 fd00:bee:cafe::242:ac11:2 > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 4,length 64
  20:00:44.717264 IP6 fd00:bee:cafe::242:ac11:2 > 2001:41c8:1000:21::21:4:
ICMP6, echo request, seq 5,length 64

The expected behaviour is what is witnessed with kernel 4.9.x - the source
address is rewritten with the outgoing interface address.

Ignoring the Docker aspect of this, the witnessed behaviour can be reproduced
without having to use a container: use 'ping6 -I debian.org'.
You'll need to setup some NAT66 rules and create a virtual interface with a ULA
address to simulate the behaviour - this stanza in an interfaces file will
suffice (make sure you have bridge-utils installed):

  iface br-nat-virt inet6 static
bridge_ports none
address fd00:bee:f00d:cafe::1/64

And the following NAT66 rule:

  ip6tables -A POSTROUTING -s fd00:bee:f00d:cafe::/64 ! -o br-nat-virt -j
MASQUERADE

Then reproduce the behaviour using 'ping6 -I fd00:bee:f00d:cafe::1 debian.org'.

I hope this makes sense. It's not a major biggy, I'm just falling back to using
the non-backports kernel in stretch in the meantime.

Kind regards,
rob.

Dear Maintainer,

After an upgrade of my Buster, I've found out that gnome-shell (on wayland)
freezes the User Interface when connecting a screens through an external dock.

When using gnome-shell on Xorg, I do not have such problem.

After talking with debian-users, I've grab some info from my logs.

  Version : 0.04
  Upstream Author : Aran Clary Deltac
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/MooseX-SingleArg
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : No-fuss instantiation of Moose objects using a single
argument

MooseX::SingleArg allows Moose instances to be constructed with a single
argument. Class or role must use this module and then use the single_arg
method to declare which attribute will be assigned the single argument
value.

If the class is constructed using the typical argument list name/value pairs,
or with a hashref, then things work as is usual. But, if the arguments are a
single non-hashref value then that argument will be assigned to whatever
declared attribute.

Thank you. I think you confused the name of the module with the name of
the package. Try using:

  --add-modules java.xml.ws

instead of:

  --add-modules javax.xml.ws

This will work for OpenJDK 9 and 10. For OpenJDK 11 we'll have to
package the JAX-WS API separately, I'll look into this.

This seems very unlikely to be a gnome-terminal bug if you also get it
for corebird. I'm guessing GDK or GTK+, which are in the same binary
package so it doesn't really matter which one has the bug.

Please could you retry this backtrace with libgtk-3-0-dbgsym installed?

I can't say for sure from the backtrace without debug symbols, but this

Well, only some knowledge; Petter's feedback appreciated.

While yet another desktop (LXQt having been added for Buster) should be
added, the number of combinations could be reduced if only KDE is tested
with all profiles. I figure there'll be enough information if the
'Workstation' profile gets tested for the remaining desktops.

Patch attached.

Doing some preliminary testing with the config in #122, this seems to be

socks5 works fine.

I'll do some more experiments and see if I can get it fixed.

I'll ask upstream to implement it, seems useful.

I just uploaded a version of corebird which depends on gstreamer1.0-gtk3.

Yes, that would be helpful.

Bug#894393: ITP: falkon -- lightweight web browser based on Qt WebEngine

2018-03-29 Thread Georges Khaznadar
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Georges Khaznadar

* Package name: falkon
  Version : 3.0.0
  Upstream Author : David Rosca
* URL : https://userbase.kde.org/Falkon
* License : GPL-3.0+
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : lightweight web browser based on Qt WebEngine

 Falkon is a new and very fast Qt Webengine browser. It aims to be a
 lightweight web browser available through all major platforms.
 .
 Falkon has all standard functions you expect from a web browser. It
 includes bookmarks, history (both also in sidebar) and tabs. Above
 that, you can manage RSS feeds with an included RSS reader, block ads
 with a builtin AdBlock plugin, block Flash content with Click2Flash
 and edit the local CA Certificates database with an SSL Manager.

Falkon is definitely the successor of the package qupzilla, which
is now obsolete, and will no longer be maintained. Falkon is now part
of KDE development works. I used to maintain the package for Qupzilla,
and will keep on maintaining the new-branded package.

This package closes bugs which are open for Clonezilla.

Bug#894392: check on debhelper versioned dependency should be made backports-friendly

2018-03-29 Thread Sébastien Villemot
Package: libconfig-model-dpkg-perl
Version: 2.106
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have a package which declares a Depends on debhelper (>= 11~), in order to
facilitate backports (because stretch-backports currently has version
11~bpo9+1).

But cme fix dpkg-control does not like this, and replaces it by
debhelper (>= 11), which is not satisfiable in stretch-backports.

cme should be made to accept the backport-friendly constraint.

Best,

GStreamer has a mechanism to tell you about missing plugins and ask the
user to install it. On Debian this is handled via
/etc/alternatives/gstreamer-codec-install , which usually then points
to packagekit and would ask the user to install the gstreamer1.0-gtk3
package then.

But as corebird apparently does not use that API in the current
version, that's also not a very useful solution.

I don't see a solution that a) requires no changes to corebird, b)
doesn't let gstreamer1.0-plugins-good (or -bad) pull in GTK as a
dependency and defeat the purpose of splitting it off into its own
package.

We should really just somehow get the new package into testing fast,
which is currently blocked on mesa.

OP of this bug report will be able to extend this variable in
`/etc/apparmor.d/local/tunables/usr.bin.thunderbird` file by adding single line
`@{thunderbird_user_dirs} += @{HOME}/Archives/`, and reloading profile.
This customization point could be documented in README.Apparmor as suggested.

What's the status here?

The "pending" tag seems to be misleading: either we consider that we

(and then let's drop the "pending" tag).

Yes, I believe there should not be "pending" tag set.

I have this on TODO, but I need to have this bug fixed first (issue with
variables in local/something and other seemingly non-standard directories):

https://bugs.launchpad.net/apparmor/+bug/1331856

Also, conditional includes would make packaging easy, meaning there
would be no need to package local/tunables/usr.bin.thunderbird.d nor
tunables/usr.bin.thunderbird.d (where distribution-specific variables
_could_ be placed, if needed). But that's gonna be with AppArmor 3.0 I
presume?

rollopack, we have bug about having "proper" Firefox profile:

Ubuntu Firefox _package_ project has profile that is updated time to
time, you can try that:

https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mozillateam/firefox/firefox-trunk.head/view/head:/debian/usr.bin.firefox.apparmor.14.10

It would be nice to have this profile in some more.. "upstreamish"
place, of course.

For example, LibreOffice profile is hosted on central upstream
LibreOffice repository [0] and our maintainer Rene does pretty good job
updating it.

These tests are shaping up nicely; thanks again for putting them

Installing gstreamer1.0-gtk3 indeed fixes the problem.

It would have been nice to contact depending maintainers and provide an upgrade
path. You didn't even mention the package split it in d/changelog.

I don't see how gstreamer1.0-gtk3 entering testing would solve the situation. It
wouldn't get installed automatically so corebird would be broken even if it
entered testing today.

> So we'll have to get that solved somehow

Is there another solution than adding a dependency on gstreamer1.0-gtk3 in
corebird? (Besides adding it to gstreamer1.0-plugins-good which you obviously
don't want).

For the record, SolydX seems to be a Debian derivative. I'm not sure
if/why they ask their users to report bugs directly to Debian without
first checking that Debian is affected, but well… let's try to find
out whether this is relevant to Debian users and/or upstream:

Hi,

I cannot reproduce this particular issue with kexec-tools 1:2.0.16-1. I
inserted the dh_update_autotools_config call just before the
dh_autoreconf call and the build was successful[1].

The only "odd" observation was that the package does a configure during
its clean. However, that problem is unrelated to
dh_update_autotools_config.

Thanks,

Is there anything I can do to increase the chances the fix I've

This is definitely reproducible. The current Qt5 version is 5.9.2-2 on my quad
G5, and 5.8.4 on G4 powerbook. Both machines are not reacting on mousewheel
events at all. I've tried KDE, LXQt. GTK2/3 apps are not affected at all.

A few months later: ping?

@maintainers: I'm pretty sure we've identified the root cause of the
problem and a workaround is available, so I recommend closing this bug
unless Nuno tells us the workaround does not fix the problem within
a month or two. If you feel like the workaround for this corner case

Thanks for this bug report. We don't enable the Firefox profile in
Debian for many reasons. We include it in
/usr/share/apparmor/extra-profiles/ merely so that interested people
can try it out and join its development upstream.

Quoting /usr/share/apparmor/extra-profiles/README:

 Feedback on these unsupported profiles is welcomed; any
 contributions for this directory should be clearly licensed

Good catch!

Agreed. I've asked someone who prepared a similar merge request
recently if they would be fine with extending it to cover
*.dpkg-remove too:

You need to depend on gstreamer1.0-gtk now, which provides the GTK
plugin. It was moved to its own package because people complained that
gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad pulls in too many dependency (and it would be
in gstreamer1.0-plugins-good otherwise now anyway with 1.14).

Unfortunately, that package is not in testing yet because of a bug in
mesa, which seems blocked by bureaucracy now.
See https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=894076

So we'll have to get that solved somehow

Bug#894388: segfault correlated with screen blank

2018-03-29 Thread dann frazier
Package: gnome-terminal
Version: 3.28.0-1
Severity: important

When I leave my system idle long enough to blank the screen, gnome-terminal
and other applications regularly segfault. The segfault is in
libwayland-client0; however, the first crash wasn't correlated with an update
to that package. It is correlated with an update to gnome-terminal but, as
this impacts other applications as well, the bug may well be in some
intermediate dependency.

I've varied the screen blank timeout, and found that the crashes remain
correlated with that time.

Applications all tend to crash around the same time:

Hi,

since gst-plugins-bad1.0 1.14.0-1 entered testing today corebird can't play
videos anymore.

The error is:

"Could not create gtksink. Need gst-plugins-bad >= 1.6"

I got a similar bug report in Ubuntu but it was "magically" fixed:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/corebird/+bug/1754131

The only thing I found that might help is:

https://github.com/gabesoft/nixpkgs/commit/7900a0142d447c4745f8f0af2384cce086d80e02

Just ask if I can help with debugging.

Best,

Philip

The color feature is explicitly marked as experimental by upstream.
Additionally, there are
quite a few old and new features not enabled by default, but we don't enable
them all just
for earlier testing. Coloring works fine for me, but I don't see it as a
game-changer worth
to diverge from upstream.

Those who like the feature and want to assist with testing could easily use
shell aliases to
save the typing and personalise the options they prefer.

If you persuade upstream to change the defaults earlier before the next
release, I'm open to
cherry-picking that.

my fault. don't know why it worked from command line. exim could not
bind to an unconfigured IPv6 address.

but again the postfix issue on an exim install during adding a list:

Bug#894385: [PATCH] cracklib2: Add support for a "nopython" build-profile

2018-03-29 Thread Karsten Merker
Package: cracklib2
Version: 2.9.2-5.1
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-ri...@lists.debian.org
User: debian-ri...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: riscv64

Hello,

we are in the process of bootstrapping a Debian port for the
riscv64 architecture (https://wiki.debian.org/RISC-V). The
libcrack2-dev, libcrack2 and cracklib-runtime packages are part
of the build-dependency chain for the essential package set, so
we need to build them to be able to complete the bootstrap
process.

Currently the cracklib2 source package unconditionally
build-depends on python2 and python3, but those aren't available
during early architecture bootstrap and are only needed for
building python{,3}-cracklib, but not for cracklib-runtime,
libcrack2 and libcrack2-dev.  The package's debian/rules already
contains support for a build without python by setting the
DEB_STAGE variable to "stage1", but this mechanism has the
limitation that it requires manually adjusting the
build-dependency list and makes it hard to autobuild the package
in a bootstrapping context. Because of this limitation, the
DEB_STAGE mechanism has been deprecated; packages should now
support build-profiles (https://wiki.debian.org/BuildProfileSpec).

Attached is a patch that adds support for the standard "nopython"
build-profile to the package while keeping the original
DEB_STAGE-based mechanism in place. As the cracklib2 package is
on the "Low Threshold NMU" list, I intend to do an NMU with this
patch on the upcoming weekend unless you should object.

Regards,
Karsten

The Django app fails at sending a mail. Is the app allowed to send mail
via email backend 'django.core.mail.backends.smtp.EmailBackend' to the
mail address you gave for your superuser?

The Django app sends a confirmation mail at first login, asking to
verify the mail address of the account. Only afterwards you're allowed
to login as the user.

Bug#894382: ITP: arduino-builder -- A command line tool for compiling Arduino sketches

2018-03-29 Thread Rock Storm
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Rock Storm

* Package name: arduino-builder
  Version : 1.3.25
  Upstream Author : Arduino AG (https://www.arduino.cc/)
* URL : https://github.com/arduino/arduino-builder
* License : GPL-2
  Programming Lang: Go, C++, C
  Description : A command line tool for compiling Arduino sketches

 A command line tool for compiling Arduino sketches
 .
 This tool is able to parse Arduino Hardware specifications, properly run
 gcc and produce compiled sketches.
 .
 An Arduino sketch differs from a standard C program in that it misses a
 main (provided by the Arduino core), function prototypes are not
 mandatory, and libraries inclusion is automagic (you just have to
 #include them). This tool generates function prototypes and gathers
 library paths, providing gcc with all the needed -I params.

This package is now necessary for new versions of the Arduino IDE.

The plan is to maintain this package inside the Debian Electronics Team. And
for this, a sponsor will be needed.

Cheers,

Bug#882238: [Cupt-devel] Bug#882238: cupt: FTBFS on hppa and hurd-i386: feeding-input.t fails

2018-03-29 Thread Eugene V. Lyubimkin
Hi Aaron, Hurd and HPPA porters,

Thank you for the report. Sorry that it took so long to get it to it.

On hurd-i386, I tracked it down to a misbehaviour of timeout(1), reported as
#894379.
For HPPA, I didn't see any available porterboxes for HPPA on db.debian.org, so
I could not
reproduced it. Did I miss any?

Otherwise, if you know simple-to-use substitutes for timeout(1) or know what's
going on in
#894379, your input is welcome.

Bug#894381: Firefox: migration from 45 (GTK2) to 52 (GTK3) produces regressions on Jessie

2018-03-29 Thread Alex ARNAUD

Package: firefox-esr
Version: 52.7.3esr-1~deb8u1
Tags: a11y jessie
Severity: important

It's a follow up of the bug 870719:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=870719

Same Thunderbird regression on Firefox. I'm not sure the policy
authorize us to migrate an application from GTK2 to GTK3 on a stable
release.

IMO, until GTK2 is available from the Mozilla compilation file, we
should provide Firefox ESR compiled with GTK2 on Jessie.

Best regards,
Alex.

Bug#881431: proposed wording

This has lost the part of Adam's wording where he explicitly said that
this applies to all three of these namespaces:

* (source package name, source version without epoch)
* (binary package name, binary version without epoch)
* (non-native source package name, upstream version without epoch or
  Debian revision)

and I think that's valuable information.

Perhaps adding a paragraph like this would address that?

"""
This uniqueness requirement applies to source package names and versions,
and to binary package names and versions (even if the binary package was
previously produced by a different source package). Additionally, for
non-native packages, the upstream version without the epoch (excluding
the Debian revision) must not be reused for different content, so that
each (source package name, upstream version without epoch) pair refers
to the same original source archive (see _Source packages as archives_).
"""

(This could be interpreted as either allowing or forbidding replacement of
foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.gz with foo_1.2.3.orig.tar.xz if they uncompress
to the same foo_1.2.3.orig.tar, or even to an equivalent but not
byte-identical foo_1.2.3.orig.tar - I'd be tempted to say that's silly
and should not be allowed either, but I'm not sure how to make that more
explicit.)

> > If you find yourself wanting to reuse the part of a version number

"increase the Debian revision" might be clearer and is certainly more
formal.
