(see man dpkg-statoverride for more info).

Hello Josch,
thank you for your very fast feedback.
You are right, I shall revert my changes, and put proposed changes
in a separate branch of the git tree, so it will be easier to
cherry-pick them.
Best regards, Georges.

group id for crontab. I believe that the arguments provided by Johannes
Schauer Marin Rodrigues are strong enough to propose a change.
What led to that situation:
I discussed with Christian Kastner about the package cron,
After thinking about it, Puting everything which s
in debian/samba-libexec-dcerpc.install into samba-common-bin would work.

Hi Josch,
thank you, you sent me precisely the arguments I wished to read before
asking maintainers of base-passwd to make the next move. The benefits of
reproducible system builds is worth a change!

Hi Michael!
For the libraries to move from the samba package, just used the following
command on each rpcd binary in /usr/libexec/samba:
dpkg -S `ldd rpcd_epmapper | grep samba | cut -f 1 -d ' '`
You could put the contents of this new package ( ie
debian/samba-libexec-dcerpc.install) into the

There's nothing in 4.16.2 which is relevant to this issue, FWIW.

You are right about that. However, the bug is a problem of gvfs that does not
work with samba 4.16 and not the other way round, because smbclient works as it
should. I am still expecting an upstream patch or an upgrade
