Bug#501964: spamassassin: spamd hangs blocking incoming emails
Noah Meyerhans wrote: I'm not sure this is something that we want to put effort into fixing. Suspending a system is naturally going to interfere with numerous IPC mechanisms. You'd expect, for example, tcp connections to close after the machine had been suspending for a certain amount of time. Sure, but I don't think it's acceptable code quality to then hang indefinitely and block all incoming email. The weekly suspension is part of the VPS hosting service, so the alternative is to document that spamd is not suitable for use on virtual private servers. I'll pass this along to the upstream developers. They may find it worthwhile to add some more aggressive recovery attempts when this situation comes up. Thanks. Bug#361974: UTF-8 language detection
Package: mnogosearch Version: 3.2.31-1 The language guesser mguesser included with mnogosearch doesn't include rules for the common languages (for example, English) when encoded as UTF-8 and they are therefore incorrectly detected as az, eo or ru, the only three languages for which UTF-8 detection rules are provided. One solution is to copy the existing language detection files, re-encode the contents using iconv or similar, change the Charset: headers to utf-8 and add the new entries to the /etc/mnogosearch/langmap.conf file.
