Bug#339898: change default highlighting in /etc/Muttrc.t-prot

2005-11-19 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: t-prot
Version: 1.99.1+2.0-rc2-1
Severity: normal

Hi,
could you consider changing the default coloring setting for the
background color inside /etc/Muttrc.t-prot from black to default?

Thus the section would look like this:

,
| # highlight TOFU protection:
| color body brightmagenta default "^\\[---.*"
| color body green default "^#v[-+]"
`

The advantage is, that default will not change the background color and
leave it, how it was set with your terminal. E.g. when working in a xterm
with a bright background, it will not touch the background color.

Thanks,
Christian

Bug#775943: libgtk2.0-0: Gtk Libraries uses the wrong Colornames

2015-01-21 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: libgtk2.0-0
Version: 2.24.25-1
Severity: normal

In Gvim, run :hi Green guibg=green.

Afterwards run :hi Green to display the highlighted color. Note, that this is a
rather dark green than a light green, that is expected from the X11 color
names. So apparently, the W3C Colornames are used. Gvim uses the function
gdk_color_parse() to parse the colorname into a color definition. I have
verified using a debugger, that this function returns the wrong color. It
should return 0x00FF00 but instead does 0x008000 which happens to be the W3C
Green definition.

If this is the wrong package to report against, please assign to the correct
package. Thanks.

(Side note, Athena gvim works correctly).

This has been discussed on the vim ML, starting here:

And then it segfaults.

Report generated with
env -u DISPLAY reportbug |tail reportbug.log
(Additional output from the shell, after all the stacktrace, which is
not caught by tail):
zsh: floating point exception (core dumped)

I am attaching the logfile, as well as the report from loading the file
in gdb (this is not very useful, by itsself, because it is no debug
build. Do I need a python debug build?

Couldn't we include that one as a backport (e.g. include it in the
debian/patches directory)?

Hi,
this looks like upstream issue 91
(https://code.google.com/p/vim/issues/detail?id=91) My current guess is,
that this is caused by the gtk library (so perhaps this should be
assigned to libgtk2.0-dev).

2024-08-20 Thread Christian Brabandt
Hector,
Yeah I know I am missing debugging-symbols, but I don't see where to get
those :(
I have the same version as you: 15.1-1

Strange, for some reason this was caused by a long running gdb session,
which was hidden in a different terminal. After cleanly exiting it, it
works now again.

Sorry for the false alarm, please feel free to close as invalid.

Sorry,
Chris

Bug#438936: newsbeuter: newsbueter should report an error, if an included file cannot be read

2007-08-20 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: newsbeuter
Version: newsbeuter should report an error, if it cannot read an included file
Severity: minor

Ok, in my config file I have this:
,
| # key-binding
| include "~/.newsbeuter/colors"
| include keys
`

It seems, the files given to include need to have an absolute path. I
would expect that the file keys in would be tried to read in
~/.newsbeuter/
However this does not seem to be the case, as the statements are not
read in. So newsbeuter should at least complain about not being able
to read the given file.
However the debug logfile says this:
newsbeuter -d log.txt -l 5
[2007-08-12 20:14:44] WARNING: configparser::parse: file
/home/chrisbra/.newsbeuter/keys couldn't be opened

It qould be good, if an error message would be given to the use, when
starting newsbeuter.

Bug#436477: newsbeuter: import opml file is not working

2007-08-07 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: newsbeuter
Version: 0.5-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

after installing newsbeuter, it prompts me to import an OPML file:

Error: no URLs configured. Please fill the file /home/chrisbra/.newsbeuter/urls
with RSS feed URLs or import an OPML file.

~$ newsbeuter
newsbeuter 0.5
usage: newsbeuter [-i |-e] [-u ] [-c ] [-h]

-r refresh feeds on start
-iimport OPML file
-u read RSS feed URLs from
-c use as cache file
-C read configuration from
-v clean up cache thoroughly
-h this help

So I run newsbeuter -i feeds and newsbeuter tells me it successfully
imported my opml file:
~$ newsbeuter -i /mnt/temp/feeds.opml
Import of /mnt/temp/feeds.opml finished.

But actually, no urls are configured. ~/.newsbeuter/urls has still a
size of 0 bytes and running newsbeuter again as suggested by the
manual, it presents again the help screen:

~$ newsbeuter
Error: no URLs configured. Please fill the file /home/chrisbra/.newsbeuter/urls
with RSS feed URLs or import an OPML file.

newsbeuter 0.5
usage: newsbeuter [-i |-e] [-u ] [-c ] [-h]

-r refresh feeds on start
-iimport OPML file
-u read RSS feed URLs from
-c use as cache file
-C read configuration from
-v clean up cache thoroughly
-h this help

So I cannot make newsbeuter working.

Sure:
http://www.256bit.org/~chrisbra/feeds.opml

It was generated using RSS Bandit (Winhdows). I do not know, whether it is
correct OPML format or not, but at least RSS Bandit told me it would
export an OPML file.

Bug#272666: "received date" patches (was: bzip & "received date" patches)

2009-07-27 Thread Christian Brabandt
Hallo Serafeim!

Thanks for your mail. Sad to see that upstream is apparently dead.

I occasionally still use archivemail, but haven't looked at the code
for a while. The patch that adds the awareness for the received header
has been applied upstream in SVN (though not released yet). So before
looking at my patch, you might be interested in upstreams approach
(which made it default behaviour.) See Tracker ID: 1764855 and 1481316
and see revision 256 at
http://archivemail.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/archivemail?view=rev&revision=256

Let me know, if I can do anything to help out.

Christian

Bug#149955: bzip & "received date" patches

2009-07-27 Thread Christian Brabandt
Hallo Serafeim!

Thanks for your mail. Glad to see, you plan to work on and improve
archivemail, even so upstream is apparently dead. Please look at
the patches carefully. I haven't used them heavily and they probably
still need some testing (and I am not a very skilled python
programmer).

Let me know, if I can support you.

regards,
Christian

Bug#539227: chntpw fails on amd64 architecture

2009-07-29 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: chntpw
Version: 0.99.5-0+nmu1
Severity: important

I have recently been trying to reset my Windows password using chntpw.
Unfortunally this did not work and I stumbled over Ubuntus Bug 293809.
I also tried the Debian package and it did not work either.

The only way to make chntpw work was to use chntpw.static from
upstreams source package. So I'll ask you to include the static
version of chntpw in the amd64 package or into the source package
until this bug is resolved.

For reference here is the error message:

chrisbra$ sudo chntpw -i SAM
chntpw version 0.99.5 070923 (decade), (c) Petter N Hagen
openHive(SAM): File does not seem to be a registry hive!

and then with the static version from upstream:

chris...@$ sudo ~/chntpw-080526/chntpw.static -i SAM

Bug#498534: metapixel fails when using --search=global

2008-09-10 Thread Christian Brabandt

Package: metapixel
Version: 1.0.2-5
Severity: normal
User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.13 (2006-08-11)

Hi,
I have been trying out metapixel lately. This program is really
aweseome and generates really good results.

However, while trying different options, I noticed, that metapixel
will fail on this system when using --search=global.

The output is:

metapixel --library /mnt/temp/mosaik2 --search=global --metapixel
/mnt/Bilder/moewe.jpg /mnt/temp/moewe_global.jpg
metapixel: metapixel.c:1087: generate_global_classic: Assertion `matches != 0'
failed.

I've been using metapixel on this system in a virtual machine image,
so maybe memory is an issue. However, a better error message would be
very nice (but this might be an upstream issue).

Bug#491122: newsbeuter does not wrap long lines

2008-07-16 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: newsbeuter
Version: 0.9.1-1
Severity: normal

Hi,
while newsbeuter allows to wrap the article using the text-width
setting, it unfortunately does not so for the header (feed name,
title, url, date) or for the url section. (The problem can be seen at
http://www.256bit.org/~chrisbra/newsbeuter.jpg)

I think this even acceptable most of the times, but sometimes I want
to copy and paste the link to the article so I need to select the
whole url with my mouse. Therefore I have to resize my terminal window
and hope that the entire url will fit on my current scrren. If not
there is no chance for me to pick up the url.

So I'd like to have at least an option that allows to wrap even those
lengthy lines.

I apologize for not sending this bugreport upstream, but unfortunately
I do not have a google-account.

regards,
Christian

Bug#434807: archivemail: [imap] Flags are note saved when archiving mails

2007-07-26 Thread Christian Brabandt
Package: archivemail
Version: 0.7.0-1
Severity: normal

Hi,
I have been working on archivemail lately :)

Flags are not correctly stored, when archiving mails with IMAP. All
my mails are archived with flag 'O'.

Attached is a patch that fixes that behaviour (Look for the difference
with the following statement:
imaplib.ParseFlags(response[1])
).

It also changes how archivemail determines the flags (and allows the
setting of 'OLD' flag).

I have been using it locally and it works using Dovecot. Please
consider adding the patch.

regards,
Christian

Actually I to not know anymore. I know that the rfc does not declare
the old flag, but for some reason the above code worked for me with
mutt. You may leave it out though.

Sorry, I must have been confused. My patch actually does not change
anything. Something must have messed up my test.

Bug#561988: cpio complains about invalid user although the user is correct

There seems to be a bug somewhere:

A far lines later, you'll find that piece of code:
f (!isnumber_p (u))
error_msg = _("invalid user");

and isnumber_p fails, because u was negative in my case.

Hallo Clint!

Clint Adams schrieb am Samstag, den 26. Dezember 2009:

Because it is just a wrapper that runs isdigit (3) on each char in a
loop. And from the manpage isalpha(3) and don't see, that isdigit checks
for negative numbers.

Well, as I said, my C-Skills are pretty rusty. May be I misunderstood
something.

Bug#918672: [vim] XML auto indentation misbehaves (adds/removes additonal/wrong indentation)

2019-06-12 Thread Christian Brabandt
Upstream maintainer here: I could not verify that this still happens
with the latest version of the xml indent script. Please verify using
the runtime files from https://github.com/chrisbra/vim-xml-ftplugin/

If that is fixed, I suppose the next upload to Debian will come with
updated runtime files (it's already fixed in Vims source distribution).

If not, please open a new issue at the upstream repository with clear
reproduction steps.

Thanks,
Christian

I just stumbled over this bug today. I also have Debian running inside a

For the record, I worked around it by adding

Thanks for the info here.
