The bitmap program (xbase-clients) is basically umusable in TWM. The
drawing pad on the right doesn't respond to clicks, the buttons on
the left and the menus seem to work however.

after killing that session and restarting everything all is working again.

I have a STK200 (parallel port) programmer and atTiny2313 part
I can't write the flash of this part using uisp, but I can read the
chip-id and flash, erase the part, read and write the eeprom,
using avrdude and the exact same hardware I was
doing
$ export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libSDL-1.2.so.0
before invoking pygame seems to be a work-around

building the packages from source requires libmysqlclient-dev be
installed. this seems to be missing from the build-deps (I had to
install it manually) and it's absence is not detected during build
or warned of in a meaningful way.

this hit me too. all the timestamps correlated with the logrotate
process. have changed to nocreate in logrotate.d/exim-base.conf
+1 for fix the exim4 package and let the hypothetical broken log monitoring
software fend for itself.
