this program seg faults. It seems to me that either the compiler
should provide a warning or the string library
This might not be a kig problem, but it's a problem for kig to be in
testing when its dependencies can't be met. Can we assign this bug
somewhere else or merge this with an existing bug report? I can't
install kde in testing because it depends the problem originally
posted. How did kig get
Is this related to bug #487435, as suggested to be the problem with
axiom bug #475170? Bug #475170 cites a poor interaction between gcl and
Debian's 2.6.25 kernel - it's not limited to amd64. You mentioned gcl
and I see you have a 2.6.25 kernel.

I found a better workaround. Let's move this to wishlist for mdadm.
Workaround for my system is to put the following in /etc/default/grub:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=rootdelay=9
