Whatever it was that generated the issue, after removing the
.xsession-errrors file, I can no longer reproduce it. So I'm closing

Do you think the size of .xsession-error could have triggered this?
I deleted the file on my machine, to have something smaller to send,

In my case the issue is that if you delete /etc/machine-id, then
journald will crash.
I tracked it down with strace.
I would say it's a bug to crash if it's not available.

command.
As a consequence, I can no longer copy/paste using the central button

Yes but how would I know that? I just saw an update installing some
more stuff, which isn't unusual.
