Yes, after upgrading to unstable, the problem seems to go away and kdesu
accepts my root password again.

After upgrading pysol and pysol-sounds from 4.82.1-2 to 4.82.1-3 and
installing python2.4 and python2.4-tk as dependencies, sound no longer works in
pysol.

lsmod shows that the correct kernel module (pcnet_cs) has been loaded and
running ifup eth0 manually brings eth0
up but I'd prefer Debian to start my netcard automatically.
