I tried a lot to get network access in Basilisk II. I want to use the Net,
so sheep_net is not an option, I want the TUN/TAP one. But I think the
original Basilisk II as found on

Downloaded latest CVS, as described on the "original" BasiliskII page
http://basilisk.cebix.net . Can't get it to compile ("./configure"
syntax errors in spite of latest autoconf), however, the ChangeLog lists
TUN/TAP and JIT. So that version seems to be the future...

It works well with a generic OOo 2.0 (RPMs converted to TGZ by alien,
installed in /opt), so it's really a compilation problem - maybe the
multimedia code doesn't build with gcj. Anyway, as long as we don't have
a free solution, the inserting of video in Debian's OOo has to be
considered broken.

I have exactly the same problem that was described above. Running i386
unstable 2.6.13.2 with some patches (reiser4, bootsplash, suspend2). I
noticed the problem with 2.2.3-4, upgrading to 2.2.3-5 didn't help.
However, my situation is not so worse as I *am* able to manually enter
the date.

Tried it today for the first time.
When I start it via gnome-control-center, the window flashes up and
disappears immediately, and I have this on the console:
/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/gnome-splashscreen-manager/ui/main_window.
Would be great if audacity could be built with portaudio-v19 by default,
when that's mature enough. Apparently, one gets nice JACK support by it
- that's what attracts me :-)

There _is_ a nasty bug lurking here. Just did a system upgrade from Squeeze
(Evolution 2.30.3-5) to testing (3.4.4-1). The result is the same as

I'm a bit confused... before, I used apt-build with -O3 and
-mtune=athlon in its configuration, and /usr/bin/gcc and g++ pointed to
4.1 versions. Now I changed the apt-build configuration to -O2 and
-mtune=i386, however, "ps" tells me what's really going on: I'm using
gcc/g++ 4.0.3
