Bug#707041: Workaround
Hi! It seems that the file /var/lib/dpkg/info/ifupdown.postinst is broken, because there is an empty clause within a then block, and that breaks the parse tree. This can easily fixed: --- ifupdown.postinst.orig 2013-05-07 02:50:15.0 +0200 +++ ifupdown.postinst 2013-05-07 06:23:20.695223000 +0200 @@ -99,6 +99,7 @@ if [ -f /etc/network/interfaces ] ; then # We don't need loopback interface definition anymore as # ifupdown handles loopback interface on its own from now +: # add null command to preserve the parse tree else # ! -f /etc/network/interfaces if [ -z "$2" ]; then echo "Creating /etc/network/interfaces." Just to be clear, the functionality I miss is the ability to read flac files with an embedded cue sheet (say, a single flac that contains a whole album). When I say read, I mean presenting the single file as a list of the contained tracks. I think that this functionality was dropped upstream, so feel free to close this bug report. Bug#612081: mpd: lastest version (0.16) no longer able to read flac files with embedded cue sheet
Hi again. Back then I asked about this in the musicpd-dev-team mailing list, and got this reply, which I should've posted here but didn't. Hi Pancho, in MPD 0.16, CUE files are not shown as "virtual directories", but as "playlists", as they refer to music in other files. The "load" command may be used to append its contents to the play queue. With embedded CUE sheets, we have a different problem; the client cannot know that a FLAC file contains a playlist, because MPD does not tell it so, and so it cannot offer an option to load the CUE sheet for the user. That is a server-side deficiency in MPD, and I will try to find a solution for 0.16.2. Bug#605004: libvirt-bin: ignores domain element in network xml, so dnsmasq is not called with the --domain argument
Package: libvirt-bin Version: 0.8.3-4 Severity: normal Hi. I want to be able to resolv dns names of the VMs managed by libvirt. For that, I use a system dnsmasq, which loads this config file: $ cat /etc/dnsmasq.d/00_libvirtd.conf # only bind to loopback by default interface=lo bind-interfaces server=/my.private.domain.example/192.168.122.1 # <-- added this $ Thus, any request for a host in the my.private.domain.example will be forwarded to the libvirt's private dnsmasq instance. The problem is that libvirt is silently ignoring the domain element in the default network xml. This element is documented on sources: libvirt-0.8.3/docs/schemas/network.rng and also in http://libvirt.org/formatnetwork.html (look for 'domain'). Also, pristine xserver-xorg-video-intel 2.9.0-1 works OK using linux 2.6.31.3 with kms enabled. I was going to provide X logs (with ModeDebug enabled), but I see that Michal already did that. Bug#541780: g15daemon spurious restarts due to udev rules.
Package: g15daemon Version: 1.9.5.3-5 Severity: important Greetings, earthlings. I have a problem with current g15daemon, due to udev rules. I boot my system and g15daemon launches OK. My rc.local script launches g15stats afterwards, and it works. When I run mplayer, or openarena, somehow udev reacts as if the device (Z-10 USB speakers) was reconnected, and calls ACTION=add /etc/init.d/g15daemon udev (as per /etc/udev/rules.d/z60_g15daemon.rules) I see this in dmesg: input: G15 Extra Keys as /devices/virtual/input/input8 input: G15 Extra Keys as /devices/virtual/input/input9 input: G15 Extra Keys as /devices/virtual/input/input10 input: G15 Extra Keys as /devices/virtual/input/input11 ... (Each line happens after each g15daemon restart.) The problem is that g15stats loses connection to the actual display, since the g15daemon is connected to is replaced by a new one. But not only g15stats, the clock app also disappears from sight, and that app is managed directly by g15daemon. I've even managed to see a corrupted startup screen (G15 Daemon version 2). Hope that it helps. Bug#541048: libg15render1: breaks g15daemon, which is now unable to render text on the G15 display.
Package: libg15render1 Version: 1.3.0~svn316-1 Severity: important Hi! After updating libg15render to version 1.3.0~svn316-1, g15daemon is now unable to render text on the G15 display, although graphics appear without problems, just as with the previous version (1.2.0.svn250-2). g15daemon lauches a clock client. The time in text mode no longer appears. g15stats is a client that uses g15daemon for rendering. No text is displayed either. Downgrading to the old version fixes the problem. N.B.: I use g15daemon against a set of logitech Z-10 USB speakers, not to a G15 keyboard. g15daemon installed version: 1.9.5.3-4 g15stats installed version: 1.9.2-1 I decided to report this bug against libg15render1 and not to g15daemon because I think that it is customary for libraries to be backwards compatible. Bug#473167: [powerpc] tested gdc-array-concat.dpatch but torus-trooper still segfaults
Hi, Peter. I just tested your patch gdc-array-concat.dpatch, and it seems that torus-trooper still segfaults on start. This is the procedure I followed: # aptitude build-depends gdc-4.1 # aptitude build-depends torus-trooper $ apt-get source gdc-4.1 $ mv gdc-array-concat.dpatch /debian/patches $ dpkg-buildpackage -b -uc # wait 96 min untill it is well done # dpkg -i gdc*deb $ apt-get source -b torus-trooper # dpkg -i torus-*deb $ torus-trooper Segmentation fault I can provide you with ssh access to my box (G4 macmini) if you want to test further. Let me know if you need something. Thanks! Friendly, pancho. -- pancho horrillo To be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to knowledge. Bug#433236: the Apple Cinema Display, the radeon fb, and the linux-2.6
Hi, everybody! I can confirm this bug, too. Macmini G4, Apple Cinema Display 23", etc. I found a workaround: recompiled the kernel disabling the option: CONFIG_FB_RADEON_I2C Tested the workaround in lenny and etch (two G4 macminis here). This is the relevant diff. So it seems that the nasty I2C behaviour is back... At least we know where to look at! Hope that it helps. Bug#270887: xbase-clients: startx and xinit do not preserve client _nor_ server arguments
Package: xbase-clients Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Followup-For: Bug #270887 If you try to invoke X like this: $ startx -- -screen "Some Screen" or $ startx -- -layout "Some Layout" where "Some Screen" and "Some Layout" are IDs of some screen or layout as defined in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, it will fail, due to the way that startx processes arguments. The previous poster attached a patch that could be trivially extended to cover the code that parses server arguments in 'startx'. Nevertheless, if the default names at /etc/X11/xorg.conf where more like default_screen, or default_layout (no spaces), at least the server related section of the bug would be alleviated, and, for that matter, the incantation would be easier to type. [eight years using debian and this is my first bug report, shame on me!] Thanks for the hard work, guys. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-rc5 Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages xbase-clients depends on: ii cpp 4:4.0.2-2 The GNU C preprocessor (cpp) ii libc62.3.5-8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdmx1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Distributed Multihead X client lib ii libdps1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Display PostScript (DPS) client li ii libexpat11.95.8-3XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libfontconfig1 2.3.2-1 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.7-2.4 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libfs6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Font Server library ii libglu1-xorg [libglu1] 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Mesa OpenGL utility library [X.Org ii libice6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libncurses5 5.5-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libpng12-0 1.2.8rel-5 PNG library - runtime ii libsm6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System Session Management ii libxau6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Authentication library ii libxaw8 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Athena widget set library ii libxcursor1 1.1.3-1 X cursor management library ii libxext6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxft2 2.1.7-1 FreeType-based font drawing librar ii libxi6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System Input extension li ii libxinerama1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System multi-head display ii libxkbfile1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Keyboard Extension file parsing ii libxkbui16.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Keyboard Extension user interfac ii libxmu6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System miscellaneous util ii libxmuu1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 lightweight X Window System miscel ii libxp6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System printing extension ii libxpm4 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X pixmap library ii libxrandr2 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System Resize, Rotate and ii libxrender1 1:0.9.0-2 X Rendering Extension client libra ii libxss1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Screen Saver client-side library ii libxt6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Toolkit Intrinsics ii libxtrap66.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System protocol-trapping ii libxtst6 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System event recording an ii libxv1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System video extension li ii libxxf86dga1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Direct Graphics Access extension ii libxxf86misc16.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X miscellaneous extensions library ii libxxf86vm1 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Video Mode selection library ii xlibmesa-gl [libgl1] 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Mesa 3D graphics library [X.Org] ii xlibs6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System client libraries m ii xlibs-data 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 X Window System client data ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3-8 compression library - runtime xbase-clients recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- Pancho Horrillo To be conscious that you are ignorant is a great step to knowledge.
