Bug#839193: Still happening with 367.44
I just got bitten by this bug with the 367.44 drivers. Andreas
Bug#718843: Me too
I've hit this, too. FWIW, gdm3's ability to talk to console-kit-daemon stopped during a stint of using kdm3/kde. Not sure what's causing it, but the key symptom is that 'ck-list-sessions' comes up empty. When that happens, all sorts malfunctions in gnome result (e.g. NetworkManager refusing to do its job). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#704646: [Pkg-dia-team] Bug#704646: Bug#704646: dia: Crashes on startup with SIGSEGV
A fix would of course be nice, but on a shorter time scale it might be a good idea to introduce a conflicts dependency with the incompatibly changed versions of glib. Bug#519186: python-tagpy: Crash on unicode file names
On Freitag 13 März 2009, Michal Čihař wrote: So basicly, one can write an app in python that's using unicode for everyting, including filenames and will be forsed to recode them manually to filesystem encoding for tagpy. Right. There *would be* a correct solution to this mess, which is to have Python open the file and redirect Taglib's access through that. That way, any sort of filename madness would at least be the same as Python, which I assume is sane. Unfortunately, Taglib's current API doesn't allow that. Go ping Scott Wheeler about being able to override read(), write() and seek() if you want a real solution. I could certainly slap if isinstance(fn, unicode): fn = fn.encode(sys.getfilesystemencoding()) into tagpy, but I'd argue that that would be making things worse, not better. 1) This wouldn't be correct on Windows, where Taglib does support Unicode file names. 2) If that's what you want, why not write a thin FileRef wrapper that does exactly this? On Mittwoch 11 März 2009, Michal Čihař wrote: Hi Do you have any plans to make tagpy work with unicode file names? In Debian I just got following bug report for that. No, I don't think so. On Unix (Linux), the reality is that a filename is a bunch of bytes. Any encoding on top of it is an illusion that's maintained for the user's sake, but it breaks far too often on 'practical' filesystems to be something I'd include in an API of mine. If an app on top of tagpy wants to support that illusion, they need to deal with the complexity arising from it. (Glib has code for that, for example) Taglib seems to agree, btw. Windows does support 'real' Unicode filenames, but I honestly couldn't care less. Andreas signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
