Version: 2.8.5-1+b1
Severity: normal

X-Debbugs-Cc: poem...@gmail.com

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
While trying to tag audio files with data from MusicBrainz.org it asks for its
account authorization code.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
I do not have MusicBrainz.org account to generate such code so files tagging
does not work.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
Audio files not tagged.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Import metadata from musicbrainz.org

Picard version 2.8.5-1_amd64 worked as intended without extra step such as
requirement to login to the service and necessity of authorization code.
Downgrading to the older version (build from source) requires python3 (< 3.11).
Both packages are not available in testing and sid repositories any more.

Bug#1024763: Supermicro AOC-STGN-I1S (Intel 82599EN based 10G adapter) - poor network perfomance after moving to Debian 11.5

2022-11-24 Thread Bartek Kois

Package: linux-image
Version: 5.10.0-19-amd64

After moving from Debian 9.7 to 11.5 as soon as I perform "ip link set
enp1s0 up" for my 10G adapter (AOC-STGN-I1S - Intel 82599EN based 10G
adapter) I am experiencing high cpu load (even if no traffic is passing
through the adapter) and network performance is low (when network is
connected). The cpu load is oscilationg between 0.1 and 0.3 on vanilla
system with no network attached. The problem can be observed on the
following platforms: Supermicro X9SCL (Intel C202 PCH) and Supermicro
X10SLL+-F (Intel C222 Express PCH), but for the Supermicro X11SSL-F
(Intel® C232 chipset) everyting is working well.

Tested enviroments:
Debian 9.7 - Linux 4.9.0-6-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.88-1+deb9u1
(2018-05-07) x86_64 GNU/Linux [all platforms working well with no
problems: Supermicro X9SCL (Intel C202 PCH), Supermicro X10SLL+-F (Intel
C222 Express PCH), Supermicro X11SSL-F (Intel® C232 chipset)]
Debian 11.5 - Linux 5.10.0-19-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.149-2
(2022-10-21) x86_64 GNU/Linux  [older platforms: Supermicro X9SCL (Intel
C202 PCH), Supermicro X10SLL+-F (Intel C222 Express PCH) behave
problematic as described above | newer platform: Supermicro X11SSL-F
(Intel® C232 chipset) working well with no problems]

So far to solve the problem I was trying to upgrade system to the newest
stable version, upgrade kernel to version 6.x, upgrade ixgbe driver to
the newest version but with no luck.

Supermicro support suggested as follows:
it might be kernel releted debian 11.5 has kernel 5.10 whihch is a
recent kernel it might not properly support the chipsets for X9
therefore i suggest to use RHEL or CentOS as they use much older kernel
versions. I expect that with ubuntu 20.04 you see the same problem it
uses kernel 5.4

Yes, I am aware of this specific bug you mentioned, as I have noticed it with
some of my albums, as well. I do not think my specific bug can be related to an
API account and key, but who knows. I do not have Discogs.com account.

Bug#980837: icewm-common: Icewm crashes and/or doesn't start when Infadel2 theme is selected as default.

2021-01-22 Thread Bartek
Package: icewm-common
Version: 2.0.0-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

IceWM does not start neither through any used display manager, ie.: LightDM,
SDDM nor using startx command.
A default theme was set to Infadel2 in $HOME/.icewm/theme. I tested it with
each of it available options: default, Ergonomic and Overloaded. After
changing the theme in the mentioned file to any other in menu IceWM runs.

Question: can the bug be related to:
icewm (2.0.0-2) unstable; urgency=low
* Disable direct loaders except for Imlib2 and librsvg
* Dropped libgdx-pixbuf-2.0 dependency (its xlib support is deprecated)

I rather use this theme as I find the best of available in the package.

Best regards,

Bartek

The library handles .prc, .mobi, .azw; .azw3, .azw4, some .pdb documents.
It allows one to read and parse documents, recreate source files of ebook
documents and dictionaries. It is also possible to edit document's metadata.
It handles encrypted files.
The package also contains tools:
- mobitool allows one to extract resources, decompile, analyze and convert
 documents;
- mobimeta allows one to edit document's metadata.

I am the author of the library. I've prepared debian packages for the
library and its tools.
I don't know any other libraries providing this functionality.
I plan to maintain the package myself.

Ondrej, indeed I had php-gmagick installed. After removing it seems to
be working fine with php-imagick. If you don't hear from me in next
few days consider this resolved.
BUT - why php-gmagick influences php-imagick in this way? Should those
packages be marked conflicting?

i works stable for me for quite some time now. recently there was short
time when i had to downgrade driver again:
/apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-radeon=1:7.8.0-1+b1
xserver-xorg-core=2:1.19.2-1+deb9u2/
to make 2nd screen operational. but before i managed to find time to
report, it got back to normal. today i've upgraded and everything works
fine with:
xserver-xorg-core 2:1.20.1-1 amd64
xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:18.0.1-2 amd64

i think we can close the ticket.

Bug#877721: racoon: IPsec tunnel with HMAC SHA256 in phase 2 is not working correctly

2017-10-04 Thread Bartek Krawczyk
Package: racoon
Version: 1:0.8.2+20140711-8
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I am configuring a roadwarrior-like scenario which works however I've
encounterd a strange problem. When configuring racoon to use AES 128
CBC as encryption algorithm with SHA256 as authentication algorighm
(and PFS with DH group 2048) for SA proposal the traffic is not
correctly authenticated. The phase 1 and 2 completes successfully,
SA's are installed properly and I even see encrypted traffic leaving
the box (and arriving to it) with correct SPI's however looks like
the traffic is dropped both by my Linux server and my remote MikroTik
router. Issue goes away immediately when I change to SHA1 as an
authentication algorithm in racoon for SA proposal.
I have tested the same setup on the same server with strongSwan and there
SHA256 works fine.

If you need any more information let me know with some minor advice on how to
gather them.

In summary: 1. racoon configuration with aes128-cbc, sha256 and
pfs2048 doesn't work with MikroTik. 2. changing only sha256 to sha1
on racoon and MikroTik solves the problem immediately. 3. MikroTik to
MikroTik and MikroTik to strongSwan works as expected.
4. PSK is fine, phase 1 and 2 completes properly, setkey -D and setkey -DP
shows expected values but packets are dropped.

when the fix is expected to arrive to the xserver-xorg-video-radeon

Bug#803670: gwenview: missing dependency to plasma-workspace and kinit

2015-11-01 Thread bartek 'basz' szurgot
Package: gwenview
Version: 4:15.08.2-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

after recent upgrade of gwenview from gwenview_4%3a4.14.2-1_amd64.deb to
gwenview_4%3a15.08.0-1_amd64.deb and onwards it stoped working properly.
it started, but was unable to show files or browse directories, showing
access errors to 'file:///', most of the time.

installing 'plasma-workspace' and 'kinit' solved all issues. please add
these two packages to dependencies (needed for those who do not use KDE
itself).

it turned out installing 'kinit' package (i'm not using KDE itself)
fixed the problem. adding this missing dependency should solve some

It seems it is not. Even amd say it's only compatible with Xorg up to

around the beginning of the July newer version of fglrx showed up -
15.5. i hope it solves X's ABI compatibility issue (this blocks far too
many updates already...).

even if it does not, it would be worth packaging any way - just to have
an up to date driver installed.

Hi,

When trying to open any multimedia file mpv gives an error:

[cplayer] mpv was compiled and linked against a mixture of Libav and
FFmpeg versions. This won't work and will most likely crash at some
+point. Exiting.

This libswscale version doesn't come from Debian...

As I suspected, this comes from deb-multimedia... please install the official
 Debian version and try again.

 Cheers

Hi Alessandro,

You are right, that was the problem, sorry to bother :).

Thank you,

Bug#690000: guake lacks python-xdg as a dependency.

2012-10-08 Thread Bartek Krawczyk
Package: guake
Version: 0.4.3-2
Severity: important

After running apt-get install guake it doesn't start saying:
bartek@purple:~$ guake
Traceback (most recent call last):
File /usr/bin/guake, line 35, in module
from xdg.DesktopEntry import DesktopEntry
ImportError: No module named xdg.DesktopEntry

after doing apt-get install python-xdg manually, everything is OK. It seems
that guake lacks having python-xdg as a dependency.

is there any way to disable this ugly resize-arrow?
Also, gnome-terminal didn't respect my font settings and theme-colors as
it did before upgrading to testing.

why do you need it or for what it may help you, might help to weight your
request. This doesn't seem too much to ask for.

hi,

i bought device (i.e. usb frame grabber) that works with this driver.
for now i have manually-compiled module for this that works fine, but in
a long term i'd prefer to have this module in distribution kernel so i
won't have to do this all over again each time new kernel arrives with
dist-upgrade (i use debian/testing).

since it is kernel part any way i think effort of adding this module is
minimal and it's always nice if device works straight after plugging it
in (this hardware is easily accessible, for a low price in my country).

IMHO this update could appear along with next linux-image-2.6xxx package
release.

how about telling that in the *first* request. (:

user Oops... ;)

well it comes for cost of us, as building is longer and security support
is also different. If the module is built, one would expect such, well
for staging crap we don't anyway.

hope some time soon this driver will become The Driver. AFAIC it is
being constantly developed, and from user's perspective looks quite mature.

IMHO this update could appear along with next linux-image-2.6xxx package

we do indeed enable staging crap on user request, so that we know that it
is used. we do consider however to split off the non mainstream modules
in a seperate modules to reduce size of the linux images and thus necessary
 installations.

hmm... sounds reasonable. i'm thinking if it wouldn't be a bad idea to
add all staging drivers as modules in one, separate package, with proper
notes about security/support. this way we'd have core kernel+modules
separated as a stable/supported part, while giving user an easy way to
install any driver(s) that comes with the kernel, if he needs it, but
explicit, so that he'd be aware of the possible consequences.

Hi, I have just setup tracker and put a tracker applet on my panel. I
only use a bottom panel in gnome. The top panel is turned off. When I am
starting to type in the applet the results are shown on top of the
screen instead near the bottom panel and near the applet. It only happens
when I am searching for the first time during the session or after being idle
for a few minutes and then searching again.

loaded and I run DRBD the screen goes black. The same with pciback.hide enabled
and without pciback at all.

After starting Xen DomU with binded devices following errors appeared

Aug 25 20:17:54 debian kernel: [ 87.927850] error enable msi for guest 1
status ffea

Add pci=nomsi to kernel command line solves problem with msi errors, but still
there is MSI error when booting DomU and I can not use uvesafb (system
unstable, black screen after loading DRBD)

Kernel without Xen support seems to work properly with uvesafb and DRBD.

Bug#495551: aptitude: Aptitude prompts for unrecognised keys with Polish locales

2010-04-06 Thread Bartek K
Same thing here on Lenny 5.0.4 and aptitude 0.4.11.11 - either it
should accept localized input or the options shouldn't be translated
according to locale. Now it prompts for localized input but it accepts
only English options. What's the status of this bug? Come on - it
shouldn't be hard to fix and it lasts for quite a long time.
I think it's easier to prompt for English options.

Bug#545988: firebird2.0-server-common: Wrong security database name in Firebird 2.0.x

2009-09-10 Thread Bartek Krawczyk
Package: firebird2.0-server-common
Version: 2.0.4.13130-1.ds1-4
Severity: minor

Firebird's security database located
in /var/lib/firebird/2.0/system/security.fdb has a wrong name. In
Firebird 2.0.x the database should be named firebird2.fdb due to changes
betweent Firebird 1.5 and 2.0. There is also a symbolic link placed
in /usr/lib/firebird/2.0 named security2.fdb and leading
to /var/lib/firebird/2.0/system/security.fdb.

Is there any particular reason for the wrong name?

Bug#545988: #545988: firebird2.0-server-common: Wrong security database name in Firebird 2.0.x

2009-09-10 Thread Bartek Krawczyk
Dnia 2009-09-10, czw o godzinie 17:44 +0300, Damyan Ivanov pisze:

The symlink is there because firebird server and tools look for the
security database relative to the 'FB_ROOT', which is
 /usr/lib/firebird/$VERSION on Debian.

I don't mind the symlink - just wanted to point out that it does have a
correct name.

I don't udnerstand what is 'wrong' with the name. Does it cause any
 problems?

No it doesn't :) That's why I submited it as a minor bug (advised by
reportbug). But there ARE differences between security.fdb (Firebird
1.5) and security2.fdb (Firebird 2.0) so I thought it won't hurt to use
correct name.

Ok, this definitely is not correct. hal runs with reduced privileges so a

Does hal come up correctly after fixing the permissions?

Great, I now need to find something so that it does not prevent correct

doing this I can change GDM settings using gdmsetup. It's probably
Debian-specific.

 Bartek [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

I did not mentioned it earlier but it did not work in previous kernel
versions. I noticed that problem a few months ago, but did not
reported the bug untill now. Anyway, I checked gnome-terminal and the
same problem occurred. I do not use gnoem desktop, I use IceWM. Maybe
that is the problem? I will report bug against libvte9.

I didn't check enough keys before, I only checked backspace and up and
down arrows which do work for me. Left, Right, Delete, Home and End do
nothing in text input fields in make menuconfig. I checked the source
code (scripts/kconfig/lxdialog/inputbox.c) and found it's programmed to
 ignore those keys.
Yes, you right. These keys doesn't work under xterm.

Do the up and down arrow keys work correctly? If so, that just leaves
backspace, and you can probably get it working by changing the
Keyboard-Backspace key generates option in your ROXTerm profile,
but I wouldn't be able to guess which setting might be most appropriate.
It might still be worth getting the vte developers (who I'm sure know
far more about keyboard codes than I do) to look into it to find out why
the default option doesn't work for you. I expect it's something to do
with your (presumably) using a Polish keyboard.

The up and down arrow work correctly. I changed the Backspace key
generates option to Automatic choice. In my profile I had
Control-H. Right now the text input fields in make menuconfig wokrs
fine. I reminded myself that I changed that option to Control-H
cause Backspace key did not work form me when I used screen.
I think the bug can be closed.
I will send also email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (the bug against
libvte9) to close it.

Thank you, Tony, for your cooperation,
Bartek

Automatic choice in my profile. I had there Control-H. Right now
the text input fields in make menuconfig works fine. I reminded myself
that I changed this option to Control-H cause Backspace key did not
work form me when I used screen.
I think the bug can be closed.
Sorry for bothering you.

Kind Regards
Bartek

Bug#500494: /usr/bin/roxterm: Backspace and cursors keys does not work when compiling linux make menuconfig

I have problem during compiling linux kernel using make menuconfig.
A backspace, a delete, cursors, a home and an end keybord keys does
not work. This situation happens when e.g. I try to choose a config
file through Load an Alternate Configuration File. I cannot delete
any letter nor move to the beginning of a word (default .config).
I checked if this happens under xterm, but there everything is fine.

It works for me, but I checked with kernel 2.6.26.5, not 2.6.27. Please
could you try gnome-terminal and if it has the same bug report it
 against libvte9.

Bug#464122: perl-byacc: byacc incorrectly escapes '%' in printf thus creating erroneous bless line in new()

2008-02-05 Thread Bartek Kania
Package: perl-byacc
Version: 2.0-6
Severity: important

On line 87 the following line is present:
   fprintf(code_file, my %s $p = bless [\\%FIELDS], $_[0];\n,
this does not escape the % correctly and as such fprintf() interprets it
as the control sequence %F.
The fix is to change % to %% resulting in the following line:
   fprintf(code_file, my %s $p = bless [\\%%FIELDS], $_[0];\n,
