Hello!

It is still crashing! I can't start it as a normal user and when I start
it using sudo (as well as jackd) I get:

 Ah, no. That's not the crash yet. Just ignore SIG32 (and all subsequent
 signals that might occur) until gdb tells you that the program received
 signal SIGSEGV. Then try to obtain a backtrace.

I hope this time it's allright:

Bug#325064: muse: segmentation fault if built from sources on testing

2005-08-25 Thread Brice Méalier
Package: muse
Version: 0.7.1+0.7.2pre2-4
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hello

I downloaded the source of muse and rebuilt it on testingi (due to the
dependency on libjack0.100.0). The building
process when without a flaw!
But muse isn't working at all, at startup I get:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~]$ muse
No superuser privileges, using system timer fallback
NO Config File /home/brice/.MusE found
/usr/bin/mozilla-firefox

open projectfile: No such file or directory
starting with default template
  name2route: alsa_pcm:playback_1 not found
  name2route: alsa_pcm:playback_2 not found
Segmentation fault
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~]$

If I start jackd (I use the realtime-lsm module) as root and then starts
muse, it goes up but crashes after 3-5 seconds:

 This definitely works fine for me on unstable. Can you please run
 ltrace muse, or even better, rebuild muse with debugging symbols
 (export DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip; dpkg-buildpackage ...), start it
 in gdb, and print out a backtrace when it has crashed? You'll have to
 start muse (and jackd) as root in these cases because an ordinary user
 cannot trace suid binaries.

I compiled it with the debugging symbols and then try to run it from
gdb, but it starts, the splash screen appears and nothing more!! I can
just quit gdb and kill muse running inside. The output is:

(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/muse
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
[New Thread -1223010624 (LWP 26513)]
/usr/bin/mozilla-firefox

[Switching to Thread -1229894736 (LWP 26525)]
0xb7353af8 in clone () from /lib/tls/libc.so.6

With ltrace this is the same story!!! I issue an ltrace muse in a
terminal as root and it outputs a lot of stuff, the splash screen comes
out and then it locks the computer, the processor runs 100% and that's
it!

If there is a trick heren I would be glad to know it!

Bug#322619: kernel-package: kernel-source is unconfigured!

2005-08-11 Thread Brice Méalier
Package: kernel-package
Version: 9.001
Severity: normal

Hello

I build a new kernel using kernel-package. I installed the source for it
and uncompressed it.

I used module-assistant for building ndiswrapper and realtime-lsm. Twice
I got the message:

Warning, /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.12.4.tuxbox seems to contain
unconfigured kernel source.

Effectively there is not .config in this directory. Moreover looking at
/lib/modules/2.6.12.4.tuxbox reveals me that the 2 symlinks in it (build
and source) are pointing at the directory in which I built the kernel
(/home/brice/sources/kernel/linux-2.6.12.4)

For information I use the following command to build my packages:

make-kpkg --rootcmd fakeroot --append-to-version=.tuxbox
--revision=2.6.12.4 --initrd kernel_image kernel_source kernel_headers
kernel_doc

Bug#321393: sarge to testing broke slrn macros

2005-08-05 Thread Brice Méalier
Package: slrn
Version: 0.9.8.1pl1-5
Severity: normal

Hello

I recently updated from sarge to testing. I use slrn for NG and I
defined some macros to emulate the keyshortcuts that I use under mutt.
These macros output Run-Time Error messages with the version of slrn
in testing but not with the one in sarge.

Here are the messages (respectively when I move the cursor at the top or
bottom in the headers view):
/home/brice/.slrn/slrn_macros.sl:16:up:Run-Time Error
/home/brice/.slrn/slrn_macros.sl:26:down:Run-Time Error

Here are the macros I use:

implements (my);

% always display read and unread articles
define enter_group_unread ()
{
set_prefix_argument (4);
call (select_group);
}
definekey (my-enter_group_unread, Return, group);

static define up ()
{
if (_is_article_visible ()  1)
call (article_line_up);
else
call (header_line_up);
}
definekey (my-up, \eOA, article);
definekey (my-up, \e[A, article);

static define down ()
{
if (_is_article_visible ()  1)
call (article_line_down);
else
call (header_line_down);
}
definekey (my-down, \eOB, article);
definekey (my-down, \e[B, article);

static define quit ()
{
if (_is_article_visible ()  1)
call (hide_article);
else
call (quit);
}
definekey (my-quit, q, article);

static define change_group ()
{
if (_is_article_visible ()  1)
call (hide_article, quit);
else
call (quit);
}
definekey (my-change_group, c, article);

static define quit_group ()
{
set_input_chars (Y);
call (quit);
}
definekey (my-quit_group, q, group);

So calling header_line_down and header_line_up creates these
errors. They might be relates to the rebuild against the new libslang.

Best regards, Brice

I don't think the problem comes from the makefile. Around a week ago I
was running sarge and I build this kernel including the kernel-doc
package without any problem. Do see which change between sarge and
testing can be responsible for that. BTW I do not know how I can compile
only the documentation without make-kpkg, moreover, does building the
kernel-doc package work for you?

Hi

I search for the way of compiling only the doc and I issue a make

Bug#316756: timidity: it works under testing

2005-08-04 Thread Brice Méalier
Package: timidity
Version: 2.13.2-6
Followup-For: Bug #316756

Hi

I reported the initial bug concerning the fact that the timidity ALSA
emulation didn't work at boot time under sarge. I switched to testing
and the bug is gone, it now works, the emulation starts at boot.

Bug#321143: kernel-package: fails to build kernel-doc

2005-08-03 Thread Brice Méalier
Package: kernel-package
Version: 9.001
Severity: normal

Hi

I am running testing, and due to acpi problem I recompiled my own kernel
from pristine source (using the debian way). The kernel version I want
to use is 2.6.12.3. kernel-package fails to build kernel-doc (and only
this one), the last line in the terminal is:

 XMLTO  Documentation/DocBook/kernel-api.html

and that doesn't do something more! I have to hit ctrl-c to stop it (I
waited for more than 10 minutes...).

Best regards,

Brice
