Bug#887555: new upstream (20171222)

2021-07-02 Thread Eike Fokken
Package: parallel
Version: 20161222-1.1
Followup-For: Bug #887555
X-Debbugs-Cc: e.fokken+report...@posteo.de

Dear Maintainer,

apparently there is a newer version of parallel, but only in the experimental
distribution.
It seems to me that is may not be warranted (anymore?).
>From its own documentation I have the feeling (on which you shouldn't depend,
but I guess you are more knowledgable here),
that parallel is not dangerous for the system, which I think is a reason to
include packages only in experimental.
If my assessment is correct, please migrate a newer version to unstable.

Best

Eike

Bug#987032: cqrlog: Importing ADIF-logs results in 0 byte logs

2021-04-15 Thread Eike Lantzsch ZP6CGE
Package: cqrlog
Version: 2.5.1-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

On a fresh install of CQRLOG 2.5.1-1 it is impossible to import ADIF-files
because
0-bytes are imported. I made sure that the files are OK and comply with the
rules.
Import from Klog into xlog works but import from Klog into CQRLog does not.

Show QSO-List
File
Import
chose log-file.adi
Import completes immediately with 0 bytes imported.

This seems to be an upstream bug which is worked around in version 2.5.2.

I cite from
https://cqrlog.com/download

"Recent version of CQRLOG Version 2.5.2"
"workaround for 'TRegExpr exec: empty input string' error in fpc compiler"

Unfortunately cqrlog is unusable for me if I cannot import my formerly
logged QSOs from other logging-programs.

I really would like to have cqrlog version 2.5.2 included in Debian Bullseye.

Thank you for all your hard work

Bug#982299: Fwd: RTSP streams are not displayed with version 3.0.12 on Debian Sid

2021-02-08 Thread Eike Lantzsch
Package: vlc
Version: 3.0.12-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading vlc-3.0.11 to 3.0.12 RTSP streams are not displayed
anymore.
I checked if all modules and plugins are installed.
All, which are available on Debian Sid, are installed but rtsp
access+demux is not.
Downgraded to version 3.0.11 to regain the functionality
and could watch stream of my security cameras again.
This problem persists on Sid/Bullseye and on Testing.

Thank you for all your hard work!

Bug#941480: mediathekview: Please package the new version of mediathekview

2019-10-01 Thread Eike Fokken
Package: mediathekview
Version: 13.2.1-3
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

mediathekview tells me with a popup window, that I should update to the newest
version.
The current version is 13.2.1.
The new version advertised by the program is 13.5.0.

Apparently there was also an intermediate version 13.3.0, which may be more
suitable for debian regarding stability, although version 13.5.0 is called
stable by the developers of Mediathekview themselves.

I have checked that no newer version is packaged in debian unstable.

Kind regards

Eike

Bug#920919: ITP: xoreos-tools -- collection of tools around BioWare's Aurora engine games

2019-01-30 Thread Eike
Package: wnpp

Owner: Eike

* Package name: xoreos-tools
  Version : 0.0.5
  Upstream Author : Sven Hesse
* URL : https://xoreos.org
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : collection of tools around BioWare's Aurora engine games

 A collection of tools to help with the reverse-engineering of BioWare's
 Aurora engine games.
 .
 xoreos-tools is part of the xoreos project (which is not yet part of Debian).

I intend to sponsor uploads of the original developer Sven Hesse,
who already maintains a Debian package for this.

xoreos-tools is a collection of tools for data used in BioWare's
classic RPGs. The main project, xoreos, is not yet ready for
inclusion in Debian. The tools still may be useful for development
and modding.

I'm unsure about the section this should go in. While it is
all free software, in the greater scheme of things the tools
only make sense when used with BioWare's non-free data.
So we might put it into contrib.

The section itself is also not clear to me. It's all about games,
lintian tells me though that packages in the section games must
provide binaries under /usr/games/...

Even the examples in all manuals have this problem.

If I move the block upwards under "filter from userspace/kernelspace" the syntax
error line number get smaller.

If I uncomment the block, the config work.

Bug#914429: nftables: Delete and Flush lead to device or resource busy with segmentation fault

2018-11-23 Thread Eike Lohmann

Hi Arturo,

we broke it down with less steps, hopefully not confusing.

Please try this:

table ip filter {
    chain FORWARD {
        type filter hook forward priority 0; policy accept;
        jump vpn_master
    }

    map J_TestMap {
        type ipv4_addr : verdict
        flags interval
        elements = { 172.21.138.0/29 : jump C_TestChain }
    }

    chain vpn_master {
        ip saddr vmap @J_TestMap
    }

    chain C_TestChain {
    }
}

# nft flush map filter J_TestMap
# nft flush chain filter C_TestChain
# nft delete chain filter C_TestChain
Error: Could not process rule: Device or resource busy
delete chain filter C_TestChain

# nft list ruleset
table ip filter {
    map J_TestMap {
        type ipv4_addr : verdict
        flags interval
    }

    chain FORWARD {
        type filter hook forward priority 0; policy accept;
        jump vpn_master
    }

    chain vpn_master {
        ip saddr vmap @J_TestMap
    }

    chain C_TestChain {
    }
}

This problem happens only if we flash the J_TestMap!

If we delete the elements of  J_TestMap, we can delete the chain C_TestChain!

Background:

We want to have many elements in our maps and we want to flash it, instead of
deleting every element.

Right now in iptables we have >100k ACCEPT Rules organised in a binary tree
build with chains.
https://people.netfilter.org/hawk/presentations/nfws2008/nfws2008_userday_iptables_scale.pdf

100k rules in nftables also organised in a binary tree makes the command "nft
list ruleset" take over 1,5min to print all rule to the command line. (Maybe you
can help here too?)

So we are looking how we can reduce the ruleset with maps and sets using ranges
etc.

Best Regards, Eike

Hi Arturo,

thanks for your quick reply.

Like described in my example, there is no reference to C_TestChain.

# nft delete chain filter C_TestChain
Error: Could not process rule: Device or resource busy
delete chain filter C_TestChain

what is left and can we delete it via an complete flush?

# nft list table filter -na
table ip filter { # handle 2
    chain FORWARD { # handle 1
        type filter hook forward priority 0; policy accept;
    }

    chain vpn_master { # handle 2
    }

    chain C_TestChain { # handle 5
    }
}

# nft flush ruleset
Segmentation fault

Bug#914429: nftables: Delete and Flush lead to device or resource busy with segmentation fault

2018-11-23 Thread Eike Lohmann
Package: nftables
Version: 0.9.0-1~bpo9+1
Severity: |important|

Dear Maintainer,

with adding and deleting rules, chains, maps and sets in nft, we can reproduce a
"device or resource busy" followed by flush ruleset with a "segmentation fault".

For the device or resource busy error, we can't find any process in the
processlist.

# nft delete chain filter C_TestChain
Error: Could not process rule: Device or resource busy
delete chain filter C_TestChain

# nft flush ruleset
Segmentation fault

How to reproduce:

/etc/nftables.conf:

#!/usr/sbin/nft -f
# Skeleton for nftables

flush ruleset

table ip filter {
    chain FORWARD {
    type filter hook forward priority 0;
    }
}

Add via file:

add chain filter vpn_master
add map filter J_TestMap { type ipv4_addr : verdict ; flags interval ; }
add rule filter vpn_master ip saddr vmap @J_TestMap
add chain filter C_TestChain
add set filter M_TestMasterSet {type ipv4_addr ; flags interval ; elements={
172.21.138.0/29 } ;}
add set filter S_TestSlaveSet {type ipv4_addr ; flags interval ; elements={
172.21.138.8/29, 172.21.138.16/28, 172.21.138.32/29 } ;}
add element filter J_TestMap { 172.21.138.0/29 : jump C_TestChain }
add element filter J_TestMap { 172.21.138.8/29 : jump C_TestChain }
add element filter J_TestMap { 172.21.138.16/28 : jump C_TestChain }
add element filter J_TestMap { 172.21.138.32/29 : jump C_TestChain }
add rule filter C_TestChain ip saddr @M_TestMasterSet ip daddr @M_TestMasterSet
accept
add rule filter C_TestChain ip saddr @M_TestMasterSet ip daddr @S_TestSlaveSet
accept
add rule filter C_TestChain ip saddr @S_TestSlaveSet ip daddr @M_TestMasterSet
accept

then flush and delete some rules with following commands:

# nft flush set filter M_TestMasterSet
# nft flush set filter S_TestSlaveSet
# nft flush map filter J_TestMap
# nft flush chain filter C_TestChain
# nft delete set filter M_TestMasterSet
# nft delete set filter S_TestSlaveSet

now we delete the vmap via handle (could not find out, how to delete this via
name):

# nft list table filter -na
table ip filter { # handle 2
    map J_TestMap { # handle 3
        type ipv4_addr : verdict
        flags interval
    }

    chain FORWARD { # handle 1
        type filter hook forward priority 0; policy accept;
    }

    chain vpn_master { # handle 2
        ip saddr vmap @J_TestMap # handle 4
    }

    chain C_TestChain { # handle 5
    }
}

# nft delete rule filter vpn_master handle 4
# nft delete map filter J_TestMap
# nft delete chain filter C_TestChain
Error: Could not process rule: Device or resource busy
delete chain filter C_TestChain

what is left and can we delete it via an complete flush?

# nft list table filter -na
table ip filter { # handle 2
    chain FORWARD { # handle 1
        type filter hook forward priority 0; policy accept;
    }

    chain vpn_master { # handle 2
    }

    chain C_TestChain { # handle 5
    }
}

# nft flush ruleset
Segmentation fault

Please contact me, if you need further details.

Regards, Eike

Thanks for pointing out!
The linked version does work, including context menu in dolphin.
It has lost localization and the QT version, though (and the man page,
not sure if that's really important nowadays).
I'm getting in contact with the developer.

For KDiff3 QT, it would not be hard. For the KDE version, there's no upstream
KDE 5 version and the upstream author doesn't have time to implement it.
There are people trying to create a KDE5 version, though. I'd prefer to
package that when/if it works. The alternative would be to deprecate the
KDE version and just have kdiff3-qt.

Bug#838152: kipi-plugins: Missing dependencies on KDE packages

2016-09-17 Thread Eike von Seggern
Package: kipi-plugins
Version: 4:5.1.0-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

after installing digikam with kipi-plugins on a non-KDE system, I cannot
export files via 'Export->Export to remote storage'. On stderr, I get
messages similar to:
  "klauncher not running"
  "no service file for klauncher"
  "kinit not found in $PATH"

(I can try to reproduce the exact messages if necessary).

The problem looks similar to 801308 and
http://askubuntu.com/questions/617955/problem-with-kde-programs-after-upgrading-to-15-04
. Following the recommendations in the latter, I've installed
 * kinit
 * kio
 * kio-extras
 * kded5

This resolved my problems. So I suspect, that some dependencies are
missing, which are implicitly fulfilled on KDE-based systems.

Best regards

Eike

As far as I can see, KF5 is not part of Debian Jessie, so I wouldn't package
that yet. For the QT only version I've got my doubts if it's worth the
additional work. I did that for kdiff3, and the QT only version is not very
popular... So I guess it will only be an update of the KDE 4 version for the

Bug#682959: debconf: DbDriver di_questions: mkdir :No such file or directory [WORKAROUND]

2015-03-14 Thread Eike Lantzsch
Package: debconf-utils
Version: 1.5.55
Followup-For: Bug #682959

Dear Maintainer,

On Wheezy the following script works fine:

#! /bin/bash
debconf-copydb configdb newbackup --config=Name:newbackup --config=Driver:File
--config=Filename:debconf-backup_`date -I`.dat

On Jessie/Testing I get the following error:

Use of uninitialized value $directory in -d at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/DbDriver/File.pm line 43.
Use of uninitialized value $directory in concatenation (.) or string at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/DbDriver/File.pm line 44.
debconf: DbDriver newbackup: mkdir :No such file or directory

Comparing /usr/share/perl5/debconf/DbDriver/File.pm of Wheezy with the same
file in Jessie shows that
the file is missing some lines between line 40 and 44.

I copied File.pm from Wheezy to my Jessie installation and low and behold - the
debconf backup script works again.

Seems to be an upstream problem.
Maybe this can make it still into Jessie while it's frozen.

Thank you for your time

Bug#780340: libfreetype6:i386: Fails to load uncompressed pcf fonts

2015-03-12 Thread Eike von Seggern
Package: libfreetype6
Version: 2.5.2-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after upgrading to version 2.5.2-3, my uncompressed pcf fonts were not
found anymore. According to http://www.freetype.org/, this bug was
introduced in version 2.5.4 and is fixed in version 2.5.5 .

As a work-around, after gzip'ing the files, the fonts can be used again.

Since this is fixed in upstream, maybe this bug can be merged with
#775057
#774826

If you need more information, I will try to help.

Best regards,

Eike

Source: basemap
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainers,

since the matplotib is available for Python 3 it would be nice if also
basemap would be supported for python 3. According to the documentation,
it only requires Python 2.4 (or later) [1].

If would be very greatful, if you could add this to sid.

I cannot confirm that, or perhaps I'm not understanding your (quite short) bug
report correctly. I'm attaching a screenshot (hopefully that works out in the
BTS, not sure about that) where you can see kdiff3 0.9.98 with text in the
status line. I clicked on one of the files for that.

So, when do you expect more text there? Why? Is it a regression from former
versions?

different iterations look for me like tryerror.
I disabled msdfs and tried different shadow:snapdir settings, and got a 0 (ok)
but the windows client don't show any files.

I missed to make a backup from the logs, where you can see the 0 (ok) part but
will send it when my testsystem is up and running.

Right now it seems for me that something is broken in 3.6.6 and I like to see
some users where it is running.

Thanks, Eike

Bug#714962: samba: Samba either version in wheezy or version in backports fail with shadow_copy2

2014-01-09 Thread Eike Lohmann

Dear Maintainer,

we have the same problem on our 7.1 server (3.2.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.2.51-1
x86_64 GNU/Linux) with samba (2:3.6.6-6+deb7u2).
If the snapdir path is wrong there is an errormessage in the logs but if the
path is correct there is no logging, but it won't show files in the windows
recovery tab.

To be sure that the error is not in my configuration, I tried it on my ubuntu
workstation samba 3.6.9 and it worked, after setting a relative snapdir.

--- smb.conf ---
   ...
   unix extensions = no
   wide links = yes

[projekte]
...
vfs objects = shadow_copy2
shadow:snapdir = ../snapshots
shadow:basedir = /data/projekte
shadow:sort = desc
---

After that I compiled vfs_shadow_copy2.c from 3.6.22 and give it a try with my
3.6.6 with the above config and get this errormessage:

log.smbd.172.17.64.17:  shadow_copy2: SMB_VFS_NEXT_OPENDIR() failed for

after correcting the snapdir to: shadow:snapdir = snapshots there is no
logging and no files are shown in the windows recovery tab.

Bug#628654: xbindkeys: New release blocks seahorse

2013-11-13 Thread J. Eike von Seggern
Package: xbindkeys
Version: 1.8.5-1
Followup-For: Bug #628654

Dear Maintainer,

I'm in a similar situation as Michael and Rola. When xbindkeys is
started from /etc/X11/Xsession.d/98xbindkeys it lacks the environment
variables necessary to communicate with e.g. ssh-agent because they are
set later in the Xsession-process in
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/99x11-common_start . This breaks using terminal
emulators started with xbindkeys.

Creating $HOME/.xbindkeys.noauto and starting xbindkeys by hand solves
this problem. Unfortunately, .xbindkeys.noauto is documented only in
98xbindkeys and NEWS.Debian.gz but not in the man-page.

Can you please document $HOME/.xbindkeys.noauto in the man-page? And if
possible install the Xsession-script such that it's sourced after
99x11-common_start.

Thank you very much!

Kind regards,
Eike

 Dear Maintainer,

 Ah, misconception on program name :)
 kmailservice is not KMail service but K mailservice (as in KDE
 mailservice).

 Basically a helper (part of kdelibs5-plugins) that checks which e-mail
 program
 is configured by the user and then calls it.
 Since you are in a non-KDE workspace environment you might want to configure
 KMail directly.

So this should be forwarded to kdelibs5-plugins? Adding the full path
to the executable in the .desktop file resolved it.

More background: I've updated to Wheezy and changed the DE from KDE to
Gnome but wanted to keep KMail as email program.

Eike

Bug#710702: kmail: Using KMail as default Email Provider is not working under Gnome

2013-06-01 Thread Eike von Seggern
Package: kmail
Version: 4:4.4.11.1+l10n-3+b1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I've selected KMailservice as Email program in the Gnome control center.
However sending files via the context menu's Send to is not working. I
found that the 'Exec' entry in
/usr/share/gnome/applications/kde4/kmailservice.desktop
misses the full path to kmailservice:
  Exec=kmailservice %u
changing this to
  Exec=/usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kmailservice %u
fixes the problem.

I couldn't find any package containing this file, so I guess this file is
generated automatically. I hope you can fix this in a future release of
Wheezy, which is working great. Thank you very much for that!

Regards,
Eike

Bug#702823: X error

2013-03-13 Thread Eike Rathke
Actually this seems to be an X IO error. X should never die on whatever
the application does. See also
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=920548

And no, it's not the number of precedents because that is just one, the
range. It may be related to the virtual offset where the highlighted
range would be drawn, but this is speculated so far, I didn't manage yet
to debug that properly. It doesn't even die within Calc but apparently
in the Gtk main loop yield.

Bug#695153: iceweasel: doesn't inform user when a download directory has insufficient permissions

2012-12-04 Thread Eike Jesinghaus
Package: iceweasel
Version: 17.0.1-1
Severity: minor
Tags: upstream

When downloading a file into a directory without enough permissions, the
file doesn't download in that directory (that's not the bug), but
iceweasel does not inform the user.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Remove the write permission of a directory (chmod u-w $directoryname)
2. Try to download any file into this directory

Iceweasel doesn't store this file in the download history nor in the directory.
Iceweasel does not inform the user about this.

2012-11-27 Thread Eike
Package: gparted
Version: 0.12.1-1

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello!

gparted doesn't start up for me as well.
I'm using wheezy/sid, fresh installation.

When I'm starting gparted by KDE menu, some graphical sudo
application is started, saying Authentication is required to run
the GParted Partition Editor. It asks for root password, if it should
store authorization and if so, if it's only for the current session.
No matter what I choose, I get the application is about to start
display in the windows bar - which vanishes after a timeout.

Ciao,

When running mksh in gnome-terminal and resizing the window with the Ctrl--

I intend to orphan the osmo package.

The package description is:
 Osmo is a personal organizer, which includes calendar, task
 manager and address book modules. It aims to be easy to use and
 configurable to meet the user's preferences.

Upstream seems to be in 'maintainance mode' with little activity in the
last two years, but are still responsive and help fixing bugs. However,
osmo is widely used in Debian (120 votes on popcon) as well as Ubuntu.

Feel free to contact me, if you have questions regarding packaging, etc. and
want to take over the package.

Bug#661073: Severity critical?

2012-07-07 Thread Eike Sauer
Hello!

On second thought, this is not something to be mentioned in a readme,
but something that should be solved before release. It rendered large
parts of my system unusable: everthing needing X (and it was very hard
to track down). Wouldn't this be severity critical?

If I understood it right and the FontPath entry in the X config is obsolete
for a long time now, this bug will hit our most loyal customers, those
running the same Debian installation for many years.

Ciao,
Eike

Bug#661073: [xorg] Same here due to 'FontPath unix/:7100'

2012-06-17 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: xorg

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
The same happened to me when I updated to unstable and
I needed days to find out why. It all boiled down to the line
'FontPath unix/:7100' in xorg.conf. (And unfortunately,
I did not find this bug entry until I had found out.)
Like the reporter's, my system is quite old (about 14 years).
Is this FontPath entry obsolete? If so, would it possible to
remove the line when upgrading, or at least to give a hint?

Bug#673537: [qt-dev-tools] Dependency on libicu?

2012-05-19 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: qt-dev-tools
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I'm trying to change the building of my package (kdiff3) to qt-dev-tools.
When compiling in pbuilder, I get error messages like this when lconvert
gets called:
Unable to load library icui18n Cannot load library icui18n:
(libicui18n.so.48: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory)
When adding libicu48 to my build-dependencies, the errors are gone.
So it seems qt-dev-tools (or some other part of QT) has got an implicit
dependency on lbicu? Shouldn't this be an explicit dependency?

Ciao,
Eike

Bug#651801: resolvconf: /etc/resolv.conf is a broken link after reboot

2011-12-12 Thread Eike von Seggern
Package: resolvconf
Version: 1.62
Followup-For: Bug #651801

Dear Thomas,

I have the same issue as Teodor:

After a reboot my wireless interface is up and working but
/etc/resolv.conf points to /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf, which does not
exist.

After a reboot the layout of /etc/resolvconf/ is

# ls -Rl /etc/resolvconf/
/etc/resolvconf/:
total 16
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  116 Aug 13  2009 interface-order
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 12 09:40 resolv.conf.d

drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 12 09:40 update.d

/etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 151 Aug  9  2006 head
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 118 Nov 18  2009 original
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 220 Jun  1  2011 tail

/etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d:
total 4
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 188 Sep  4 17:08 fetchmail

/etc/resolvconf/update.d:
total 16
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3601 Jan 12  2011 bind
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3195 Dec  6  2008 dnscache
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5095 Nov 30 19:05 libc

and /run/resolvconf/

# ls -Rl /run/resolvconf/
/run/resolvconf/:
total 0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root  0 Dec 12 21:20 enable-updates
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 40 Dec 12 21:37 interface

/run/resolvconf/interface:
total 0

I think the problem is that /sbin/resolvconf silently does nothing if it
is called with empty input like:
# echo -n | resolvconf -a wlan0
and /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf does not exist or contains no
`nameserver' directives.

However, if /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf does contain a `nameserver'
directive
# echo -n | resolvconf -a wlan0
causes /run/resolvconf/resolv.conf to be rewritten.

I hope that helps in tracking down this problem.

Kind regards
Eike

Hi Thomas,

adding the `resolvconf -u' indeed fixes this problem. Thank you very
much!

Just to let you know my use-case:
I have a /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail with some fall-back
nameserver entries. This is probably not the correct way, but it worked,
and saves me specifying these fall-backs for my different wireless
network setups in /etc/network/interfaces .

Bug#636674: osmo: Should support syncml

2011-08-19 Thread Eike Nicklas
Hi Peter,

upstream currently does not maintain the syncml features:

http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=20110815160637.35f4cb11%40stationforum_name=osmo-pim-friends

Building with enabled syncml for testing also does not work currently.
Once it works, I'd be happy to provide a package for you. If you have
any experiences using syncml and osmo, upstream is glad to hear about

What text do you see before the segfault?

Could you test with the version currently in unstable (should enter

 Upstream osmo used to support syncml using an old version of
 libsyncml. It'd be really useful if osmo supported syncml now, using
 Debian's current libsyncml.

My last status on the syncml support was that the implementation is
still quite experimental, that's why it is not enabled in Debian.

@Tomek: What is the current status of syncml support? If it works (or
at least has no negative side effects), I could enable it in the Debian

No, I don't think so (as far as I can remember my configuration at.work).

Is this still reproducible with the current version in testing or unstable?

Bug#607660: Marking a task as 'done/undone' toggles the wrong task

2010-12-25 Thread Eike Nicklas
Thanks for the report. I cannot reproduce the unmarking of the wrong
task here, no matter in which order I do it (squeeze, i386). Could you
please recheck before I forward upstream?

I do confirm, however, that unmarking does indeed take a lot longer
than it should...

Bug#602899: osmo: Serious data loss in case of abnormal termination

2010-11-23 Thread Eike Nicklas
Hi Gabor,

sorry for the late reply, I am currently quite busy.

 Osmo does not save changes (e.g. new tasks) when killed by a signal
 or xkill command.
 The only way to exit without data loss is closing its window.

That problem was addressed in osmo 0.2.4. From the changelog:

 * Option to save data after every modification

So this problem should be solved as soon as you upgrade to a newer
version (Debian squeeze should become stable quite soon now).

Thanks a lot for the report,

Eike

Bug#601582: osmo: Alarm warning occurs _after_ deadline moreover forever

2010-11-23 Thread Eike Nicklas
Hi Gabor,

 Setting alarm warning does not produce warns _before_ the task is due.
 It happens however in every minute _after_ the deadline until I mark
 task as done or I delete it.

I cannot reproduce this bug (using 0.4.0 from squeeze), everything
works as expected. The behaviour you describe occurs when no time is
set for the warning, I think. If this was not the problem, then
upgrading to a newer version should fix this problem.

Thanks for the report,
Eike

Bug#593626: [libqt4-dev] QT bug? printer icon too large when loaded from gnome icon theme (minimal source sample included)

2010-08-19 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: libqt4-dev
Version: 4:4.6.3-1
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
I get an icon which is too large when loading the printer icon from the gnome
default theme. I'm asking for a 64x64 icon but get 256x256.

Source code:

#include QtGui/QApplication
#include QtGui/QIcon
#include cstdio
int main(int argc, char ** argv)
{
  QApplication* app = new QApplication(argc, argv);
  QIcon::setThemeName(gnome);
  QIcon iconPrinter = QIcon::fromTheme(printer);
  QPixmap picPrinter = iconPrinter.pixmap(64);
  printf(Pixmap size is %d x %d.\n,picPrinter.width(),picPrinter.height());
}

Compile with: g++ -I/usr/include/qt4/ -lQtCore -lQtGui testcode.cpp

I get the result: Pixmap size is 256 x 256.

While documentation promises...
QPixmap QIcon::pixmap ( int extent, Mode mode = Normal, State state = Off )
const [...] Returns a pixmap of size QSize(extent, extent). The pixmap might
be smaller than requested, but never larger.

Bug#590160: [kdevelop] shortcut conflict configuration

2010-07-24 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: kdevelop
Version: 4:4.0.0-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

I'd like to have e. g. F5 as Launch Debug shortcut. Going to the menu,
selecting Launch Debug and F5, I'm told about a conflict with Reload.
The text (at least the German translation) asks me if I want to remove
the other shortcut meanings. I do. Back in the configuration menu,
when I look at Reload, it doesn't have F5 configured anymore. Fine.
Pressing OK.
Pressing F5, the debugger is launched. But when pressing F5 the next
time, I get a complaint about the key being assigned several times.
Going back to the config menu, Reload is assigned to F5 again
(as well as Launch Debug).
I tried it several times with different functions and different keys,
all the same result...

Bug#410695: [apt] Same trouble here, it's not a network problem

2010-07-24 Thread Eike Sauer
Package: apt
Version: 0.7.25.3

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Hello!

It seems I stumbled across the same problem...
I cannot install/update files larger than about 100 MB anymore.
I experienced this with libqt4-dbg some weeks ago and later on with
texlive-latex-extra-doc as well.

Here is what happens...

 apt-get install libqt4-dbg

Nach dieser Operation werden 445MB Plattenplatz zusätzlich benutzt.

E: Einige Archive konnten nicht heruntergeladen werden; vielleicht »apt-get

Zeitüberschreitung der Verbindung means timeout of connection,
later it complains about a hash sum problem. Both is not true AFAICT.

I had a look at the downloaded files at /var/cache/apt/archives/partial/ :

Package: kdiff3-doc
Version: 0.9.95-4

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

I wondered why I've got a different situation than you reported:
For German and English, the links work, for the other languages, they don't.

The directories linked are contained in the kde-l10n-?? packages...
When I installes kde-l10n-da, this one links as well:

$ ls -ld /usr/share/doc/kde4/HTML/*/kdiff3/common

I'm not sure how to handle this.
Of course, dangling symlinks are not a good thing.
On the other hand, we don't know which localization packages might be installed
after kdiff3-doc, so we couldn't possibly tell which symlink to set and which
not.

What do you think?

Bug#582421: Floating point format depends on locale in gvim fom vim-gnome

2010-05-20 Thread Eike von Seggern
Package: vim-gnome
Version: 2:7.2.436+hg~e12b9d992389-1
Severity: normal

The format of floats depends on the current locale in gvim from
vim-gnome. I can reproduce the error using the following commands in
commandline mode:

:language C
:echo ceil(1.3)
2.0
:language de_DE.URF8
:echo ceil(1.3)
E806: ...
E116: ...
E15: ...

I omit the error messages, since they are in German.

This bug does not appear when I use vim or gvim from vim-gtk. So I guess
it's caused by using gnome libraries.

This might break scripts/plugins that use floating point arithmetics.

Best

Bug#580017: osmo uses gtkhtml2

2010-05-03 Thread Eike Nicklas
Thanks a lot for reporting this. I could just remove the dependency on
libgtkhtml2, but that would completely disable the address book
feature (and annoy most users of osmo). So I'd prefer feedback from
upstream first and if they fix this within the next two weeks or so, I'd
prefer waiting...

Of course, I don't want to be in the way of removing libgtkhtml2 from
the archive, so just let me know if things are more urgent and I'll
immediatly upload a version without the depenency on libgtkhtml.

Cheers,

Eike

I actually had the debian folder already finished for 0.2.10, but
thanks for your work. If you are interested to co-maintain osmo, I
could move the package to a collab-maintenance repo at alioth, so that
we can both update the packaging.

 And I also found the first bug: The window-headline of the osmo-window
 is still osmo 0.2.8 while the about-dialog says Version 0.2.10 -
 but this is only a cosmetic matter, the old bug is fixed in this
 version ;-)

Thanks for the hint, could not find a fast way to change this, but
forwarded this bug upstream.

yes, I noticed as well, that this bug is fixed upstream (that's why I
marked it as such ;-) )

 I built a checkinstall-package of the svn-version, which can be
 installed beside the offical osmo-package. You find it at:
 http://apt.klaumikli.de/testing/osmo-cvs_rev866-1_i386.deb

 Maybe this would be a good starting point to build a new official
 debian package before the release of squeeze?

thanks for your work. osmo 0.2.10 should be released soon (it is planned
for february; for sure in time for squeeze) and i already updated the
packaging for this version, so i am only waiting for the release and
will then immediately ask my sponsor to upload. i will have a look at
your package anyway to look for ideas ;-)

Bug#549757: osmo: FTBFS: icalss.h:37:27: error: icalcomponent.h: No such file or directory

2010-01-16 Thread Eike Nicklas
Hi Fathi,

this bug (see below or #549757 to refresh your memory) might actually a
problem in upstream libical-dev (according to my very limited
understanding of C):

1)
the osmo source contains #include libical/icalss.h

2)
looking at /usr/include/libical/icalss.h from libical-dev:
line 37: #include icalcomponent.h
which probably causes the error since upstream libical moved
everything from /usr/include to /usr/include/libical according to the
bottom of
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_name=0002697206%40uncensored.citadel.orgforum_name=freeassociation-devel

3)
replacing this line with
line 37: #include icalcomponent.h
should fix this problem

4)
there are some more occurences of including system headers instead of
local headers in icalss.h

Sorry if the above is totally wrong, since I don't now any C. That's
why I have not yet contacted upstream libical and have not yet
reassigned the bug. What do you think?

Thanks,
Eike
