After further reading, I realized this functionality will be covered by
the package nvidia-suspend-common, which seems to be a work in progress.

I manually updated udev and libudev0 (as I don't use mdadm right now - btw
shouldn't udev depend on libudev?). Manually restarting udev and pulseaudio did
not work; only null device appears.
However restarting the system did work, and my devices were back. I guess it

In my case it got solved in my debian mostly-testing when I downgraded
gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad from sid's 0.10.11-2+b1 to testing's 0.10.10.3-1 .
