Bug#407798: xserver-xorg-video-i810: screen corrupted, pointer missing.
Hi, I just did a few suspend-resume cycles with the laptop and didn't find any problems with 2:2.0.0-5, so it seems like you fixed this! Really, thanks a lot, finally suspend works again with this laptop, it didn't for some time now! I still had some minor problems with the version in unstable now (had to type the password blindly, but after this X worked), but with the one from experimental, everything looks really good. Keep up the good work! Johannes Brice Goglin wrote: Hi, Does any of you guys still reproduce this problem with a black screen after suspend/resume with the latest xserver-xorg-video-intel driver? If so, it would be good if all of you could try with the latest xserver-xorg-video-intel driver (2:2.0.0-5 currently in experimental). If you still experience a black screen at resume, you should try either passing acpi_sleep=s3_bios to the kernel, or use vbetool post after resume (some high-level suspending program can take care of this for you, for instance with the uswsusp package). Bug#415326: Fixed (upstream?) in 2.0.0
Hello! Since the new upstream release 2.0.0 hit unstable yesterday, I just thought to try it again and the annoying stripes were gone. So feel free to close this bug, as it doesn't seem to exist anymore in 2.0.0 Again, thanks a lot for you hard work! I really apreciate it! Bug#407798: xserver-xorg-video-i810: Cursor disappears after resuming from suspend-to-ram
Drew Parsons wrote: Johannes wrote: Since some time (unfortunately I don't remember the exact version of the change), the cursor disappears after resuming from suspend-to-ram. It's still possible to use the cursor (clicking things on the desktop or in the menu if you manage to find them), but the cursor itself isn't there anymore. Yeah, the bug is tabled at #390913, #407798 and #407798. Sorry for the duplicate, seems like I didn't read carefully enough. This can only be resolved through a full system restart No, as mentioned in #390913 you should find you can recover the cursor by stepping over to console and back again (Ctrl-Alt-F1 followed by Alt-F7). Unfortunately this is not true for the system here - the cursor doesn't show up when switching to console and back again, neither when X is restarted. This is one of the things we hope that the future release of X.org (X11R7.2 or 7.3) will fix, via the modesetting branch. This won't help you if use etch, but after etch is released you could try the new version of xserver-xorg-video-i810-modesetting once we get around to updating it. It will likely appear first in experimental before we move it into unstable. I'm looking forward to test this, thanks. Oh yeah - one thing I forgot in the initial report: thanks a lot for all the time you keep investing in building these packages! Keep up the good work! Bug#402003: eclipse-cdt: CDT 3.0 is not compatible with eclipse 3.2
Package: eclipse-cdt Version: 3.0.1-3 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Hello! With eclipse 3.2.1 installed, eclipse fails to start with CDT 3.0.1-3 installed as well. After starting up, a message is shown telling Error notifying preference change listener. Check the log for details. Unfortunately I couldn't locate this logfile, it's neither located in ~/.eclipse nor $WORKSPACE/.metadata/..log as stated in the manpage. After some search on the internet, I found out that this problem occurs because CDT 3.0 is not supposed to be used with eclipse 3.2. After removing the debian package and installing CDT 3.1.1, everything worked again, but I'd prefer to use the debian package. Please update the package, right now it is unusable with eclipse in Debian. Thanks Johannes PS: Thanks for packaging eclipse! This is the first bigger problem I ever had with the packages! Hello again, one more thing I forgot to mention is that the error I explained above doesn't go away when you click OK (the only avaiable button), it just complains again and again so it's impossible to start eclipse at all. To get out of this circle, I had to kill it manually. Thanks Johannes -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Bug#384435: libxine1: Please support m4b files
Package: libxine1 Version: 1.1.2-3 Severity: wishlist Hello! libxine doesn't handle .m4b files correctly right now. .m4b files are AAC audiobooks which the iPod uses to bookmark them (i.e. continue the track the next time were you left it), so they can be handled like normal m4a files. This was already included in upstream CVS, but maybe you can include this small patch here (changes two lines of code): http://www.mail-archive.com/xine-cvslog@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00166.html One problem that was discussed on the upstream mailinglist still remains: the ending m4b doesn't tell whether the file is free or protected in any way. Would be nice if you could include it. Thanks for the packaging! Bug#383894: I cannot add songs to my collection
Hey Mariano! This is exactly the bug we are talking about here ;-) As a solution, you will have to recompile amarok - either yourself or wait for the next version of the package. To recompile it yourself, you should do the following (as root): apt-get build-deb amarok (installs headers for building the package) apt-get source amarok cd amarok-1.4.1 dpkg-buildpackage Then it compiles and creates you the debian package in .. You can install these with dpkg but after this you shouldn't update amarok until there really is a new version. To avoid this, you could change the changelog as well. I hope that helps and/or that we will get a new version of the package soon so MySQL will work out of the box again. Bug#383894: amarok: Does not work with MySQL 5.0.24
Hello again! For me it worked also (even without recompiling) as long as I didn't add songs to my collection, tried to rebuild the collection or wiped the whole database and amarok settings and started with a new one - the collection remained empty and no tables were created in the database. Maybe you could try to create a new database and try to use it with amarok. If it still works for you after this, I neither get the upstream bug report nor why it only works for me with this patch. Bug#383894: amarok: Does not work with MySQL 5.0.24
Hi! I did again a clean recompile of the debian package and have to admit that I was wrong - sorry that I asked you to test this if I should have done it. Seems like the patch really is unnecessary now, but I just wanted to help :-) I guess a recompile instead would do it. Johannes Oliver Heins schrieb: Hi, here it works (after recompiling) just fine. I can add new songs to the collection, I can even wipe the database out and create a new one. However, after the upgrade to MySQL 5.0.24 I could not even connect to the db. Don't know where the difference is, but if a simple recompiling does not help you, the patch has to be applied, IMHO. olli -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#383894: amarok: Does not work with MySQL 5.0.24
Package: amarok Version: 1.4.1-3 Severity: important Tags: patch Hello! First of all thanks for the packaging of amarok. Unfortunately amarok has a problem with MySQL 5.0.24 (http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/MySQL_HowTo#MySQL_Setup). Two days ago, this was fixed in amarok's SVN (http://websvn.kde.org/?rev=574217view=rev). I adjusted the patch so that it works with amarok 1.4.1 and not only with the SVN version. I included the patch in debian's patch directory and for me it works fine. Maybe you can include it as MySQL 5.0.24 is the version to be found in sid, so right now sid users can't use amarok with MySQL. Bug#358288: linux-image-2.6.16-1-686: Cannot load module acpi-cpufreq with 2.6.16 on ThinkPad X41
Linux kernel version 2.6.16 broke cpufreq support for me. I can no longer load the module acpi-cpufreq, which means that software such as cpufreqd doesn't work. I had the same problem on a MSI s260 (Medion version). Loading the modules speedstep-centrino instead of acpi-cpufreq solved it for me. Without being too much into it, I could imagine it hase something to do with this patch: http://lwn.net/Articles/170568/ Especially the last part is interesting: For Linux it means that on systems which could run either the acpi-cpufreq or speedstep-centrino drivers, only the (preferred) speedstep-centrino driver will load and acpi-cpufreq will not load. The possible side-effect is if somebody configures only the non-preferred acpi-cpufreq, it will not load. I hope this helps. Apart from that: thanks a lot to the kernel maintainers that they got 2.6.16 so fast in debian! Great! Greetings Johannes -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#358490: amarok: Doesn't work with current MySQL (libmysqlclient15off) due to ABI changes
Package: amarok Version: 1.4-beta2-2 Severity: important Tags: experimental Hello! Due to the change in MySQL that renders new packages binary incompatible to libmysqlclient15 the current version of amarok in experimental can't be used right now (information about the MySQL transition can be found here: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/03/msg00576.html). Maybe you could rebuild the package with the current version of MySQL in unstable so that it will work with libmysqlclient15off. I tried to just change the depend for libmysqlclient15 | libmysqlclient15off in the binary package (before I knew about the binary incompatibility), but obviously this didn't work.
