Bug#819925: debmirror: Experimental distribution contents files not downloaded with --getcontents

2016-04-03 Thread John Verhoeven
Package: debmirror
Version: 1:2.25
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I am trying to mirror the Contents-.gz for experimental (as now required
by aptitude)
and they do not get downloaded.

For other distributions (stable / testing / unstable) they do get downloaded.

debmirror should download the Contents-.gz for all distributions being
mirrored.

2008-12-17 Thread John Verhoeven
I had a bunch of custom udev rules defined for vaious USB enclosures and
memory sticks. I did this to get my system as stock as possible

I removed them and the problem has gone away.

Now for some debugging on my custom rules :-(

ps axfw showed, before I removed my custom rules:

 1795 tty2 Ss 0:00 /bin/bash
 3458 tty2 R+ 0:00 \_ ps axfw
 1860 ?Ss0:00 udevd --daemon
 2126 ?S 0:00 \_ udevd --daemon
 2127 ?S 0:00 \_ /sbin/vol_id --label /dev/psaux
 2195 ?S 0:00 /bin/sh -e /lib/udev/net.agent
 3457 ?S 0:00 \_ sleep 1

Bug#474361: Culprit found

2008-12-17 Thread John Verhoeven
Checking my custom rule sets, I found one with

PROGRAM=/sbin/vol_id --label /dev/%k%n

I was trying to write a rule to create a device name based on the volume id
for a partition on a disk in a eSATA enclosure.

Their isn't much to distinguish eSATA disks from other disks in the system.

I removed that line and the problem goes away..

Sorry :-(

Thanks for the help.

Relevant udev messages issued at point of faillure:

Starting the hotplug events dispatcher: udevd.
Synthesizing the initial hotplug events...done.
Waiting for /dev to be fully populated...

After the udevadm settle timeout, the events queue contains:

done (timeout).

I did a ps -efww to a file before starting through rcS.d scripts. Below is
