Bug#940823: dokuwiki: Various CVE not fixed in stretch

2019-09-21 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Hi Salvatore,

yes you are right, then I must have installed it in jessie and have been
running it for years with serious bugs. Since there is still LTS
support for jessie, these security-critical bugs should be fixed.

@Maintainer
So it's not a good idea if a package is suddenly not updated anymore and
is not removed by the dist-upgrade process either. Or was it removed and
I installed it manually? I can't remember. Anyway, thanks for your work!

Regards
Klaus

Bug#865877: sddm: Switches to tty1 but shutdown messages are on tty7

2017-06-25 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: sddm
Version: 0.14.0-4
Severity: normal

PID 1 is sysvinit instead of systemd. When shutting down the
system via KDEs menue or with "shutdown -h now" or "halt", sddm switches
to tty1. The shutdown messages cannot be seen there, as it is the case
with other display managers.
It took a while until I recognise that the messages are on tty7. This
makes no sense when sddm switches to tty1 on shutdown.

So please move the shutdown messages to tty1 when running without
systemd or prevent sddm to switch to tty1 on shutting down, so that they
can be seen on tty7.

Bug#835814: roger-router-cli: kwallet plugin missing

2016-08-28 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: roger-router-cli
Version: 1.8.14-2
Severity: normal

I use KDE as my desktop system. When I want to create a new profile with
router-router, I was ask to enter a password for the gnome password safe, which
is not used with KDE. If it is not possible to use roger-router without a
password manager, you should include also the KDE kwallet plugin for
roger-router. Otherwise the package cannot be used with KDE.

Bug#813579: virt-manager: Cloning ignores sparse disk

2016-02-03 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: virt-manager
Version: 1:1.0.1-5
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

When cloning a VM in virt-manager (right click - "Clone") the cloned disk file
is fully allocated even when cloning a sparse disk.

The original disk:
# du -h asv1-jessie-clone.img
3.9Gasv1-jessie-clone.img

The cloned disk:
# du -h asv1-jessie-clone1.img
81G asv1-jessie-clone1.img

In the debug output it recognizes the allocation but obviously does not clone
with the sparse option:

##
[Mi, 03 Feb 2016 11:38:10 virt-manager 22690] DEBUG (cloner:426) Starting
duplicate.
[Mi, 03 Feb 2016 11:38:10 virt-manager 22690] DEBUG (storage:701) Creating

  asv1-jessie-clone1.img

##

In earlier versions of virt-manager cloning sparse files as sparse files was
possible.

Bug#810818: x2goserver: Replace hardcoded paths to make use of XDG_RUNTIME_DIR

2016-01-12 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: x2goserver
Version: 4.0.1.19-0x2go2+git20150608.1064+jessie.main.1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I'm sharing a Java application over x2go which is started as single
application. Now there is a problem to access the shared folder of the
client.

x2gomountdirs mounts the folder as a link to /tmp/.x2go-{$USER}/... When
the java applications file chooser dialog wants to access /media then
the selection jumps to /tmp but cannot find the hidden folder
/tmp/.x2go-{$USER} directory, because it is a hidden .dot directory.

Is ist possible to change the hardcoded directories to another, not
hidden path, eg. /tmp/x2go-{$USER}... and additionally move the
temporary files to the users home directory?

Or even better, replace the hardcoded paths in the scripts to use
XDG_RUNTIME_DIR.

Please implement the use of XDG_RUNTIME_DIR in other x2go* packages too.

Regards
Klaus

I tried this and it worked. And I don't know why and what, maybe because
of an update or additional software installed, I cannot reproduce this
error any more. Maybe it is a hardware problem or something else.

Can you please close or delete this bugreport? Thanks!

I think my description is not clear enough, sorry.
Yes, I configured the power manager to ask for the desired action when
pressing the power button. When I klick on shutdown, it the suspends.
The same happens when klicking on "restart" - it only suspends.

If I load the ivtv module I got the devices /dev/videoX and /dev/vbiX and
/dev/v4l/by-path/Symlinks to /dev/videoX
As soon as the directory /dev/v4l exists, nxtvepg does ignore the devices under
/dev and refuses to start as it thinks the video devices have to be beneath
/dev/v4l.

The problem is solved at least in the latest upstream version nxtvepg 2.8.1.
So please update this very old debian package.

Thanks!

Bug#402730: ifplugd: Interrupts the system when running on non existent interface

2008-03-10 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger

Hello Giridhar,

Y Giridhar Appaji Nag said the following on 10.03.2008 19:01:

Since you aren't starting ifplugd via the init script, you will continue
to see jerkiness. If you tried to start it via the init script, there
wouldn't have been an instance of ifplugd for the non existent interface
eth10 and hence no jerkiness.

Yes, you are right! But in that case I would never be able to use a
removable network device with ifplugd. That was my initial bug report.

But I found out, that I can use non existent interfaces with the
variable HOTPLUG_INTERFACES in /etc/default/ifplugd. In the same file it
is confusing that there is explained this variable is used for the
hotplugd. As I dont use hotplugd I always left the variable untouched.
It would be clarify things, if it would be mentioned, that this variable
is also used by /lib/udev/ifplugd.agent and therefore used by removable
network devices in general and not only of those handled by hotplugd.

Thanks for closing this kind of bug reports :-)

Bye,
Klaus

Sorry that I must tell you, the patch doesn 't close the bug I reported.
I tried this with ifplugd 0.28-5. It 's the same behavior with this
version. Please let me know if I could provide further information that
would help to close the bug.

Y Giridhar Appaji Nag said the following on 05.03.2008 17:18:

Does changing the poll time (--poll-time / -t) help?

The bug still exist in the actual version. Changing the poll time to 5
seconds let the Video flicker every 5 seconds, so it does not really help.

Try it out on a non existent interface:
strace ifplugd -i eth6 -f -u0 -d10 -w -I -n -t 5
glxgears or in my case fgl_glxgears

Every 5 seconds, or the default 1 second ifplugd searches for the
interface and the fgl_glxgears stumbles.

it is already mentioned in the manpage, that probing for link detection
on a non existent interface eg. a pcmcia card is suboptimal. Anyway if
i'm viewing DVD or use another 3D application as glxgears, I had to stop
ifplugd on my system. Otherwise the image is jerkling every 1 second. I think
ifplugd should not interrupt the system in such a way.

2006-06-01 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: amavisd-new

amavisd-new is started on system boot, when no internet connection ist

plugin is disabled by amavisd-new as the pyzor_check fails.
Even when going online after, the pyzor plugin was not executed anymore.

Restarting amavisd-new after going online make the things work.

Maybe you could add a amavisd-new script to /etc/ppp/ip-up.d to restart
amavisd-new, when spamassassin and/or online checks are enabled in the
config files.

Bug#301995: Remarks not shown when Mouse is over Event

2005-03-29 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: mozilla-calendar
Version: 2:1.7.5-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

the remarks of an Event are not shown when the mouse gets over an Event. Only a
small, empty rectangle comes up.

Bevor I had installed calendar_linux_20041217.xpi where this worked as
expected. After the Installation of the Debian Packages the remark popups are
gone.

Bye,
Klaus

Bug#298917: Show NetworkStatusDevice only for up and running Devices

2005-03-10 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
Package: icewm
Version: 1.2.17-1
Severity: minor

Hi all,

one of the last updates changed the behavior of the Network Status in
the Taskbar. I liked it, when I start a specific Openvpn Connection and
when the connection was up, the Network Device Symbol comes up.
After the update to my local mirror, all Symbols for all defined Devices
are shown in the Taskbar whether the Device ist up or not. This is not
very useful I think.
Is there a changed settig, or is this a minor bug?

Thanks!

Bye,
Klaus

Bug#257096: noexec /var breaks postfix chroot

2005-03-03 Thread Klaus Fuerstberger
LaMont Jones said the following on 03.03.2005 17:35:
With Postfix 2.1.4-5 the Problem still appears. No Mails reaches the
relayhost on my Firewalls with stmp=chroot and /var mounted noexec.

Your choices are:
1) mount /var/ without noexec
2) unchroot postfix
Sure, that is what I said. But both choices are not satisfying on a
Firewall.

This is because it uses .so files for name resolution, that are loaded
from the chroot.
Who changed this behavior? Bevor 2.1.3 this did not happen, as I
remember. Or is smtp in earlier versions not be running in chroot?

What about to check for noexec of /var/* in the Startup Script if
running smtp in chroot, remount, exec then start Postfix and remount it
noexec again?

Bye,
Klaus
