Just wanted to report that I had the same problem,
and
apt-get remove icedove
rm -rf /usr/lib/icedove (still contained a thunderbird-bin symlink)
apt-get install icedove
helped.

I don't know anything about python, so maybe this will do awful
things to your system, but I was able to install xserver-xorg
by doing

Encoding-speed is shown as about 50x (on a Duron 700 *gg*), progress-bar
