This might be because others are not using Qt5 at all. It's strange, but understandable in case that newer Qt5 is using chromium as a web backend and it is not compileable to anything except x86 and arm and this renders Qt5 almost unusable in modern cases. > I understand that you tried on two machines. Just to be clear: have you > tried with a new user? The older installation on G5 is working the same in all users (tried new one). The G4 installation on powerbook is the fresh one. > There is the chance that you might have configured something in the same way > in both machines. If you still can reproduce this bug with a new user then > we can file a bug upstream. Both installations are independent and on older one (G5 one) I've tried several users. > Actually you should do it yourself, as I don't have any ways of reproducing > this bug. Please file the upstream bug at https://bugreports.qt.io and then > please send the bug number here. I'll happily subscribe to the bug to follow > it and, if possible at all, help. Reading the bugs there I've found that it is possible that the problem is in QXcbAtom::ButtonWheel* wrong detection. I'm yet unable to find how does Qt5 detects wheel buttons and where from it is getting the mouse events. The xinput shows everything ok, and Qt4 and GTK2/3 apps all are using the wheel perfectly Regarding the bugreport. I should register on the site and when I will fill bug report I'll attach it here. -- WBR, Vladimir Berezenko

> Hi! I definitely can't reproduce this bug. Can you still reproduce it? Which > Qt version are you currently using? This is definitely reproducible. The current Qt5 version is 5.9.2-2 on my quad G5, and 5.8.4 on G4 powerbook. Both machines are not reacting on mousewheel events at all. I've tried KDE, LXQt. GTK2/3 apps are not affected at all. -- WBR, Vladimir Berezenko

Or is this you just see in a debugger? Just seen that in debug session, and was confused by this. During startup it will detect cpu capabilities. This is done by running instructions that might or might not be supported. Getting SIGILL is normal in that function. Ok. You are good telepathist. 8) Out of curiosity, what X.org driver are you using? Assuming you are using Debian testing with a 3.16 kernel and 7.5.0 radeon driver, you won't be able to use the radeon driver anymore but just the generic, low-performance fbdev driver. Yes. 3.16.7-ckt2-1 linux-image and 1:7.5.0-1 xserver-xorg-video-radeon. And yes, the gui is very slow and unresponsive. Bug#757015: iceweasel: Bookmarks toolbar is not shown when enabled.
Package: iceweasel Version: 33.1-1 Followup-For: Bug #757015 Dear Maintainer, the problem with bookmarks toolbar is still here. Additional info is: The default firefox folders can be put to toolbar and are shown (like last added to bookmarks, etc.). Other items are not. Any new folder created in bookmarks always have the name New Folder (in russian equivalent) and can't be changed anyhow. The problem is only encountered in debian powerpc, because osx ppc tenfourfox(firefox port to ppc osx), x86 and amd64 debian versions all have no such a problem. The 3.2 kernel works OK with all the same libs/env so it's a kernel 3.10 bug. On Sep 23, 2013, at 10:30 AM, Douglas Mencken dougmenc...@gmail.com wrote: Yep, it happens everytime. GNU/Linux is totally unusable in its current state. P.S. But X.org mouse pointer issue doesn't have anything with kernel. All other env is completely the same. The latest update didn't fix the problem. I've just rebooted back to 3.2 because of a cursor garbage. With the 3.12 kernel (Jessie), my G5 PowerMac7,3 crashes and freezes when trying o reboot, but ONLY if I am running X when I attempt to reboot. Also, the X graphics is crappy compared to the same machine running the 3.2 kernel (Wheezy) I'm working on getting netconsole setup so I can get a transcript of the crash/hang to submit as a bugreport. Is this bug (Bug#713943) a good place to send it, if I can get it? No, open a new bug report for the graphics problems. Bug#728839: libdrm-nouveau2: Mouse pointer become garbage, then panic in kernel and freeze
Hi all! Bug with kernel panic is yet present even in 3.12 kernel. Making AIGLX off anfd cursor software, not hardware makes panic not to occure much longer. The system became almost useable. Switching to console and back causes X to restart somehow. No any messages in Xorg.log about that. Scrolling something with smooth scroll enabled (e.x. in Konqueror) causes hang very fast. -- WBR, Vladimir Berezenko. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#713943: X,org is going to garbage and freezing
I think that it has. The 3.2 kernel is not causing this garbage to come and didnt panick. All other env is completely the same. The latest update didn't fix the problem. I've just rebooted back to 3.2 because of a cursor garbage. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#713943: linux-image-3.9-1-powerpc64: windfarm module is not working any more
Seems that there's another one problem. From time to time cursor in X become garbage and after some time kernel goes panicking. Last update seems not causing panick, but cursor garbage stayed. The 3.2 kernel works OK with all the same libs/env so it's a kernel 3.10 bug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#713943: linux-image-3.9-1-powerpc64: windfarm module is not working any more
Package: src:linux Version: 3.9.6-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, After upgrading from 3.2 to 3.9 windfarm modules break to work. The cooler speeds are not regulated so after some time their speed is set up to maximum by hw. All files from /sys/devices/platform/windfarm.0/ shows 0 RPM. The only file that shows anything is slots-power and reading from it slows down the fans for several seconds. Then they are forced to max speed again. /sys/devices/platform/windfarm.0# ls -al итого 0 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root0 июн 24 07:36 . drwxr-xr-x 13 root root0 июн 24 07:35 .. -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 backside-fan -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 cpufreq-clamp -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 cpu-front-fan-0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 cpu-front-fan-1 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 cpu-pump-0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 cpu-rear-fan-0 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 cpu-rear-fan-1 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 drive-bay-fan lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root0 июн 24 07:36 driver - .../../../bus/platform/drivers/windfarm -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 modalias drwxr-xr-x 2 root root0 июн 24 07:44 power -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 slots-fan -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:44 slots-power lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root0 июн 24 07:36 subsystem - ../../../bus/platform -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4096 июн 24 07:36 uevent /sys/devices/platform/windfarm.0# lsmod | grep windfarm windfarm_cpufreq_clamp 4001 1 windfarm_max6690_sensor 4851 0 windfarm_lm75_sensor 5313 0 windfarm_smu_sensors 7691 1 windfarm_smu_controls 7954 8 windfarm_pm112 14588 0 windfarm_smu_sat8260 1 windfarm_pm112 windfarm_pid3975 1 windfarm_pm112 windfarm_core 11909 7 windfarm_cpufreq_clamp,windfarm_pm112,windfarm_smu_sensors,windfarm_smu_sat,windfarm_lm75_sensor,windfarm_max6690_sensor,windfarm_smu_controls -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.9-1-powerpc64 (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.7.3 (Debian 4.7.3-4) ) #1 SMP Debian 3.9.6-1 ** Command line: root=UUID=a42a8274-d222-4616-9872-c8a93b0b138e ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [7.253379] nouveau [ VBIOS][:0a:00.0] ... signature not found [7.253383] nouveau [ VBIOS][:0a:00.0] checking ACPI for image... Bug#699046: psi-plus-plugin-psimedia: psi-plus segfaults while psi-plus-plugin-media installed
В сообщении от 14 февраля 2013 16:34:45 автор Boris Pek написал: Architecture: powerpc (ppc64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-powerpc64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Hmm, very interesting. Do you use 32-bit powerpc system with 64-bit kernel? This is normal for debian powerpc for G5 cpus Package: psi-plus-plugin-psimedia Version: 1.0.3-git20120506-fb54b6e-1 There is no such package for ppc64 architecture: http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/package.php?p=psimedia I don't think that I'm using psi-plus for ppc64. I've installed it just using apt-get install. And I'm not using debian-ports. So I suppose you have installed package from powerpc architecture: https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php?pkg=psimediaver=1.0.3-git2012050 6-fb54b6e-1arch=powerpc Definitely yes. The only thing I have 64bit is libc-ppc64(in addition to libc- powerpc) and the kernel. AFAIK there's no 32bit kernel for G5 CPUs. [21:55:06] W:Attempted to load /usr/lib/psi-plus/plugins/libgstprovider.so, but it is not a valid plugin. [21:55:06] W:File is a plugin but not for Psi Not a valid plugin? Such problem could be if you use 64-bit program and try to load 32-bit plugin. Is it your case? Definitely not. As I see such situation is possible, because psi-plus is available on ppc64: http://buildd.debian-ports.org/status/logs.php?pkg=psi-plusver=0.15.5338- 1arch=ppc64 I'm not using debian-ports. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#699049: libfarstream-0.1-0: seems farstream not detecting audiocodecs
В сообщении от 29 января 2013 13:51:04 автор Simon McVittie написал: on powerpc seems that farstream is not seing any audiocodecs. This is likely to be caused by http://bugs.debian.org/674156, for which powerpc is one of the affected architectures. Please try upgrading to libgstreamer0.10-0 (= 0.10.36-1.1) from unstable - that version should be available on powerpc now (or within a couple of days if your Debian mirror is slow). Seems that not helped. After regeneration of codecs.audio.powerpc.cache stayed of the same size - 12 bytes. There's no any MIME types listed there. Of course, i've rebooted after installing 0.10.36-1.1 from unstable. Farstream and Gst experts: any ideas? Vladimir, if you run gst-inspect-0.10 speexenc, gst-inspect-0.10 rtpspeexpay on your powerpc, what do you get? Any warning messages? (If everything is working, you should get some details of the plugins, resembling http://paste.debian.net/229996/.) There were one about opencv, but I think it is not worth to mention. If you run a Farstream application from a gnome-terminal or something, do you get any warnings from that? No messages at all. Does ~/.gstreamer-0.10/registry.*.bin list details of elements like speexenc and rtpspeexpay in its binary data? If you remove both codecs.audio.powerpc.cache and ~/.gstreamer-0.10/registry.*.bin, then re-run a Farstream application, does that help? And that step finally helped. Removing all gstreamer and farsight caches and regenerating them totally fixed the problem. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
