Bug#749567: gkrellm: Crashes with 'BadRRCrtc (invalid Crtc parameter)' X Window System error
Package: gkrellm Version: 2.3.5-6 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? Just trying to run gkrellm ... * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? This is a headless system (serial console only) so I log in using ssh -Y Then I try to run gkrellm. * What was the outcome of this action? I always (100% reproducable) get this error message: The program 'gkrellm' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadRRCrtc (invalid Crtc parameter)'. (Details: serial 49 error_code 146 request_code 139 minor_code 20) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) * What outcome did you expect instead? I'd expect that a window with a display of the statistcs data opens. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 3.14.3-3-g043fe0d (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages gkrellm depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.12.0-1 ii libc62.18-7 ii libcairo21.12.16-2 ii libfontconfig1 2.11.0-5 ii libfreetype6 2.5.2-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.30.7-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.40.0-3 ii libgnutls-openssl27 3.2.14-1 ii libgnutls26 2.12.23-15 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.23-1 ii libice6 2:1.0.8-2 ii libntlm0 1.4-2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.3-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.36.3-1 ii libpangoft2-1.0-01.36.3-1 ii libsensors4 1:3.3.5-2 ii libsm6 2:1.2.1-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-2 gkrellm recommends no packages. gkrellm suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. This applies to some of the action icons and to the application icon of kile. If I open those png files in /usr/share/kde4/apps/kile/icons/... all of them open and display fine. The code completion doesn't work, too! That's really annoying. If you need further information, please ask. Bug#567460: dkms: automatic module-build of the VirtualBox-Modules after kernel-update fails
Hello, I investigated my problem further and I found out that the order in which the modules are built comes from the command 'find' which is invoked by the dkms_autoinstaller script. By appending the command '| sort' I could achieve that the modules are built in alphabetical order which solves my problem. But it is only a workaround. I don't think that the fact that I'm using a sidux kernel image influences the sort order of find in any way. Is there any way how somebody can control the build order to respect module dependencies? Thanks in advance.
Bug#567460: [Pkg-dkms-maint] Bug#567460: dkms: automatic module-build of the VirtualBox-Modules after kernel-update fails
Hello, as there is no response from you by now, I would like to ask, if I can do something to help you in investigating my problem?
Bug#563642: xserver-xorg-video-intel: wrong dpi with kernel mode setting enabled
Seems that upstream has a solution for that problem: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23705#c17 Could that commit be included in the next update?
Bug#567460: [Pkg-dkms-maint] Bug#567460: dkms: automatic module-build of the VirtualBox-Modules after kernel-update fails
According to the upstream bug I filed, the error seems to occur because of the order the modules are built. How can the order of compiling modules can be set? Could you look into it to support upstream!? Thanks!
