I didn't have anytime to test it so far. You can find Jonas public
message
here : https://github.com/jwagner/playitslowly/issues/7 and see that
the

code has been updated here :
https://github.com/jwagner/playitslowly/commits/master

Cool.
I think the best way to get this fix in Debian is for him to do a new
release. Looking at the commits it seems to me that quite a few stuff
changed, so it's not really "including a patch" in the package.
Given that this removal won't happen in the next few days, I suggest
upstream to do his own testing, update the readme, when ready cut a
release.
While you're doing all of these updates, I'd suggest also moving to
py3.

Once everything is ready I can NMU the new version, to avoid this
package being removed, but for sure I won't take the maintenance over.

Given : https://github.com/jwagner/playitslowly/issues/7 and

I does looks like Jonas has followed your advices Mattia.

Everything sounds to be in a good shape for your NMU.

Cheers and merry Christmas,
Olivier

Bug#806586: Please keep playitslowly in Debian

2015-12-22 Thread Jonas Wagner
I updated the application to Python3, GTK3 and GStreamer 1.x and released a
new version (1.5):
http://29a.ch/playitslowly/

I tested it on my system and everything seems to work fine - but that's
just my one box of course.

Please let me know if there are any further problems.

Cheers,
Jonas

I'm not really interested in this software, and furthermore I know
nothing about gstreamer, so for me it would mean losing a whole lot of
time to only start understanding what gstreamer does.

I can happily take a patch and apply it, if somebody provides me that.

Moritz: given that this removal now causes interest, is the current
state of the transition too advanced or can we put this removal on
hold

(= tag -1 + moreinfo) for some other weeks?

We can certainly wait a few more weeks (if there's an actual chance

this fixes it).

Mattia, as you've recently put some work on this package I'm forwarding
this removal request, in case you want to fix one more issue. I'm still
in VAC and can't take it in the next few weeks.

Yes, but this about deprecating python-support, not gstreamer 0.10?
