Heya, I fear that the IDE bus is not really hotplug friendly and that we simply have no way to discover this automatically (hence the need of a tool to ask for a rescan of the IDE bus by the kernel). But I'm neither an hardware expert nor a kernel specialist, so I may be wrong. I
