No, it is not OK to close this bug report; can you reproduce it with
a locale that you've actually got?
No, I can't reproduce this with any of the 21 locales which 'locale -a'
lists on my system. That includes locales using ASCII, ISO-8859-1,
ISO-8859-2, ISO-8859-15, and
Package: subversion
Version: 1.4.4dfsg1-1

If I set LC_CTYPE to C, it does not complain. It
