yes, sorry it is a typo. But of course I tried running devkit-power
--monitor-detail not devicekit...

I just tried what you suggested with devicekit-power version 12-1 from
Debian repository but device kit is still unable to detect that I'm
unplugging/replugging powercable. Nothing is shown when I run
devicekit-power --monitor-detail.

If you get absolutely no output, I'd first check if devicekit-power is
reassign 544264 linux-image-2.6.30-1-powerpc
