the x86_64 port of Debian/testing. Specifically, it periodically

has a couple of extra features on Nvidia cards (such as sync on
v-blank for TV-out).
The savage driver, at least on this particular chipset, also had a few other
issues including some corruption/artifacts with Xvideo playback and
instability with GL, so the upgrade was worth it.

Fedora rawhide package for the i810 driver includes both, naming the
modesetting driver intel to avoid any conflicts.
It would help those of us with hardware not fully supported by the
current i810 driver.

haphazard manner, applying the patch to the already installed
screenlets files on my system rather than grabbing the source. But, despite
that, they're working (the ones I use, anyway) with the newer python-gobject
package.

Does this error still occur with more recent kernel versions?
Seems I forgot to follow up on this report.
No, the problem is no longer occuring on newer kernels. Currently, the
machine is using 2.6.26-8 and is behaving fine.
