Bug#347448: xlibmesa-dri: sis : sizeof(SISDRIRec) does not match passed size from device driver

2007-01-23 Thread Brice Goglin
Hi,

About a year ago, you reported (or replied to) a bug in the Debian BTS
regarding DRI problems on SiS board caused by a wrong size passed by the
driver. It was supposed to be fixed with Xorg 6.9. Did any of you guys
reproduce this problem recently? If not, I will close this bug in the
next weeks.

Thanks,
Brice

Hello,

I'm getting the same error message, so if you need me to test something, let
me know. I'm on unstable.

I use kernel 2.6.15.
More info are in attached text (done by reportbug).

ps: when Xorg was introduced in etch, DRI was working OK ; then, after
an unfortunate update, it never worked anymore; with Xorg 6.8 , I was
getting a black window

Hello, A. I have the same chipset in one of my laptops. Please wait
until I
upgrade to 6.9 for testing. :-) At first glance I suggest activating kernel
framebuffer for SiS, if you had not got it enabled.

Best regards,

thanks for the prompt reply

according to
http://www.winischhofer.net/sisdri.shtml
the kernels later than 2.6.3 do not need sisfb

and moreover I have tried it both ways
(but, I will try again, just to be absolutely sure)

anyway: I was using testing and Xorg 6.8.2 up to some days ago : all
GL applications would said that DRI was OK, but the window was
completely black (no display at all). This is why I tried to upgrade
to unstable.

If you use testing on your laptop, does DRI work for you ?
which kernel do you use?

a.
