PCAP_DONT_INCLUDE_PCAP_BPF_H is not defined in Sid Debian
GNU/kfreebsd, so the problem becomes a bit more complicated... Help,

I've just found the $host of hurd-i386 should be *-*-*gnu* from the
build log. I will not make a new upload for this specially, and this
problem will be fixed in next upload (upstream release or fixing other
bugs).

Thanks for taking time to look at this problem, it's a known problem
after the package had been upload. The reason is upstream has hard
code *freebsd* linker flags. The bug has been forwarded to upstream
already.

I've read about the gold linker, and that issue has been dealt with in
newer versions I've made (on mentors.d.n). I'll remove --as-needed
flag as a workaround, and let's see whether the problem get solved
then.
