Bug#802763: kinit: should depend on libqt5xcbqpa5:amd64

2015-10-23 Thread Salvo Tomaselli
Package: kinit
Version: 5.15.0-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

my system was totally unable to do a graphical login.

After a lot of wasted time, I found these errors in the .xsession-errors file

> kdeinit5: preparing to launch 'libkdeinit5_klauncher'
> kdeinit5: Launched KLauncher, pid = 1801, result = 0
> This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt

and so I installed libqt5xcbqpa5, which then made it work.

So I suppose the library should be among the dependencies.

Thanks

Bug#784070: mdadm Software RAID1 with GPT on Debian 8.0.0 amd64 - Does not mount/boot on disk removal

2015-10-23 Thread Yann-externe SOUBEYRAND
OK, so what do we do from now on? The patch I proposed seems to fix the
bug which prevents from booting a degraded raid. However, I think this
patch is a regression for slow to appear devices.

Michael, you told you won't maintain this package any more. Would you mind
making an exception for this little patch if you decide it's worth
including it despite the regression? Or do you want me to prepare a NMU?
In that case, can you give me your opinion on the worthiness of including
this patch?

Cheers

Yann

Bug#802811: libqt5x11extras5: causes konsole to segfault in libX11 on startup

2015-10-23 Thread Nicolas Noirbent
Package: libqt5x11extras5
Version: 5.5.1-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading to the unstable version of libqt5x11extras5, I
encounter segfaults when starting konsole:

kernel: [12347.664891] konsole[29202]: segfault at 968 ip 7ffa708ddfe3 sp
7ffd859067f0 error 4 in libX11.so.6.3.0[7ffa708b+13c000]

Downgrading to the testing version no longer triggers the issue. I've
encountered similar issues on another machine for other packages,
e.g. sddm failing to start.

I'd send a backtrace as well but drkonqi also fails to start up with
the message

Could not find drkonqi at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/drkonqi

Which is probably an other, unrelated issue. I tried running konsole
under gdb but it gave me nothing, since (I assume) KDE tried to run
drkonqi to gracefull handle the segfault. Any suggestion on how to
remedy this so I can at least provide you with a backtrace ?

Regards,

Bug#802812: Remove gstreamer 0.10 in stretch

2015-10-23 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Source: gstreamer0.10
Severity: serious

gstreamer 0.10 is scheduled for removal, use this RC bug to keep it
out of testing (since removing it from unstable will take more time
than dropping it from stretch).

Cheers,

I've applied a workaround to libsigc++-2.0 which sets -std=c++11 via
pkg-config. This should allow libpar2 to build again. Thus making this
bug non-RC.
I'll keep this bug open though, since I want to drop that hack from
libsigc++-2.0 again. This can happen once all affected packages either
explicitly specify -std=c++11 (e.g. via CXXFLAGS in debian/rules) or GCC
6 becomes the default compiler, which will switch to -std=gnu++14

Now that sourcemap support has been added, and is properly
documented in the man page, it would be nice to make it usable,

Whoops - that's a bug, actually: I will fix it so that node-less
recommends node-source-map as intended, and libjs-less does not.

@David: Thanks for bringing this (other?) bug to my attention. It won't

Bug#802776: matplotlib: ttf-bitstream-vera missing in "Depends:" of python-matplotlib-data

2015-10-23 Thread Tobias Megies
Source: matplotlib
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

in `debian/rules` for python-matplotlib-data, Bitstream Vera ttf fonts are
deliberately removed from the package (same is done for some fonts of package
`fonts-lyx`) but the package hosting those fonts (`ttf-bitstream-vera`) is not
added to "Depends:".
These fonts are default fonts of matplotlib, so any plot generated will look
different than what is expected and advertised by matplotlib in their galleries
because it will use a very different-looking fallback font.

(see http://tests.obspy.org/29443/#8 for a diff of expected image and image
without these fonts installed)

Please add `ttf-bitstream-vera` to Depends of python-matplotlib-data.

cheers,
Tobias

Bug#800574: backport to sid/stable? (was RE: libc6: lock elision hazard on Intel Broadwell and Skylake)

2015-10-23 Thread Carlos Alberto Lopez Perez
Hi,

Thanks for this patch.

I was having trouble (crashes with the NVIDIA proprietary driver) on a
Debian system with an i7-5775C and libc6=2.19-18+deb8u1 (stable)

I tried first to update the Intel microcode with the "unreleased" 0x13
microcode version but it didn't disabled the TSX-NI instructions [1]
neither the crashes.

Finally I upgraded to glibc=2.21-0experimental2 and it fixed the crashes.

I wonder:

Should this patch be backported both to stable and unstable?

Thanks for your awesome work !

This bug should stay as grave. I updated this morning and after a reboot I did
not get a GUI at all. Sddm failed to start because it was missing this Qt
plugin module. After about an hour I learned that libqt5xcbqpa5 had to be
installed.

I also have recommended turned off because I usually don't want the extra
packages. If kwin gets its dependencies changed, then consider doing the same
for sddm, as without it, using the default config, it's pretty much useless.

Patrick

I was already working on this, my workflow was bite a bit from git migration.
Maybe you noted that in the repository we have already requests 2.8.1, I had
to do the final checks and it will updated.

I'm working on this right now.

I will start to use ratt[¹] from the future to keep requests always in the
best shape and not brake anything (or at least catch all breaking early).

Thanks!

Severity: serious
Justification: FTBFS

Hi! Musescore has started to FTBFS in the latest rebuild against Qt5 [ftbfs]

[ftbfs]

The issue seems to be missing dependencies to link against:

g++ -m64 -Wl,--no-undefined -Wl,-O1 -shared -o libheadless.so
headless_backingstore.o headless_integration.o main.o fontconfig_database.o
-L/usr/X11R6/lib64 -lQt5PlatformSupport -lfontconfig -lfreetype -lQt5DBus
-lgthread-2.0 -pthread -lglib-2.0 -lXrender -lXext -lX11 -lm -linput
-lxkbcommon -ludev -lmtdev -lEGL -lQt5Gui -lQt5Core -lGL -lpthread -lglib-2.0
-lfontconfig -lfreetype
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -linput
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lxkbcommon

I can only think in Qtbase's private stuff changing linking requirements.

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

Package: src:siscone
Version: 2.0.6-1
Severity: important
Tags: sid stretch
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: libstdc++-cxx11

Background [1]: libstdc++6 introduces a new ABI to conform to the
C++11 standard, but keeps the old ABI to not break existing binaries.
Packages which are built with g++-5 from experimental (not the one
from testing/unstable) are using the new ABI. Libraries built from
this source package export some of the new __cxx11 or B5cxx11 symbols,
and dropping other symbols. If these symbols are part of the API of
the library, then this rebuild with g++-5 will trigger a transition
for the library.

What is needed:

 - Rebuild the library using g++/g++-5 from experimental. Note that
most likely all C++ libraries within the build dependencies need
a rebuild too. You can find the log for a rebuild in
 https://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc5-20150701/
Search for "BEGIN GCC CXX11" in the log.

 - Decide if the symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 are part of the
library API, and are used by the reverse dependencies of the
   library.

 - If there are no symbols matching __cxx11 or B5cxx11 in the symbols
forming the library API, you should close this issue with a short
   explanation.

 - If there are no reverse dependencies, it should be the package
maintainers decision if a transition is needed. However this might
break software which is not in the Debian archive, and built
   against these packages.

 - If a library transition is needed, please prepare for the change.
Rename the library package, append "v5" to the name of the package
   (e.g. libfoo2 -> libfoo2v5). Such a change can be avoided, if you
have a soversion bump and you upload this version instead of the
renamed package. Prepare a patch and attach it to this issue (mark
this issue with patch), so that it is possible to NMU such a
package. We'll probably have more than hundred transitions
triggered. Then reassign the issue to release.debian.org and
properly tag it as a transition issue, by sending an email to
   cont...@bugs.debian.org:

 user release.debian@packages.debian.org
 usertag + transition
 block by 790756
 reassign release.debian.org

 - If unsure if a transition is needed, please tag the issue with help
to ask for feedback from other Debian developers.

The libstdc++6 transition will be a large one, and it will come with a
lot of pain. Please help it by preparing the follow-up transitions.

Pulseaudio plugin was ACCEPTED today, so I've just pushed a xfce4 package with
xfce4-mixer dependency replaced by xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin.

Bug#802764: virtualbox-source: fucks up my kernel's modules

2015-10-23 Thread Salvo Tomaselli
Package: virtualbox-source
Version: 5.0.8-dfsg-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

apparently upgrading virtualbox messed with my custom built kernel's modules,
and so if I boot with that kernel I no longer have a video card and I am not
able to start Xorg.

Also, the text on my console is unusually huge.

Attaching my dmesg.

Hi!

Like it happened before (see #505199) squid has changed again the way on
which they are interfacing with url rewriters and has done it in an
uncompatible way so that jesred doesn't work anymore
(see: http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/config/url_rewrite_program/)

In particular the output that jesred is giving squid3 is no longer working,
I've done a couple of tests and something like:
OK status=30X url=http://whateveryouwant ...
would make squid cause a redirect 30X and something like
OK rewrite-url=http://whateveryouwant ...
would make squid fetch http://whateveryouwant transparently for the client.

Maybe there is a compatibility flag that I've missed and wich would make
jesred still work, after all it is still named all over the squid web page
with no reference to it not working at all, but I haven't found it.

I hope we can fix this and keep jesred usefull and in the distro.

Regards.

2015-10-23 Thread Eric Valette
Package: bluedevil
Version: 4:5.4.2-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I has a working bletooth setup with kde 5.4.2. Audio speaker connexion was

saying to device are not discoverable by default, but even after
fixing this, it seems connected for 3s and than disconnect and fails.
Not found any workaround yet.

Dear Maintainer,

The package fails to build in a UTF-8 locale(?). I'm using en_GB.UTF-8,
I also tested en_US.UTF-8 and the Reproducible Builds builder has tried
fr_CH.UTF-8. "serious" as I believe the (vast) majority of people will
be using a UTF-8 locale.

"Binary file full.fsrc matches." looks like grep output for an
unrecognised-encoding file.

I believe the bad encoding here is actually present in the build log
(e.g. they're unrepresentable-utf-8-characters):

Package: kinit
Version: 5.15.0-1
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks the whole system

Dear Maintainer,

my system was totally unable to do a graphical login.

After a lot of wasted time, I found these errors in the .xsession-errors file

> kdeinit5: preparing to launch 'libkdeinit5_klauncher'
> kdeinit5: Launched KLauncher, pid = 1801, result = 0
> This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt

> kdeinit5_wrapper: Warning: connect(/run/user/1001/kdeinit5__0) failed: :
> Connection refused
> This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt
> platform plugin "xcb".

and so I installed libqt5xcbqpa5, which then made it work.

So I suppose the library should be among the dependencies.

Thanks

Bug#802794: golang-github-xordataexchange-crypt: FTBFS: favors unavailable packages

2015-10-23 Thread Aaron M. Ucko
Source: golang-github-xordataexchange-crypt
Version: 0.0.2+git20150523.17.749e360-1
Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

Automated builds of golang-github-xordataexchange-crypt have been
failing due to the autobuilders' policy of disregarding alternatives
in most cases for the sake of reproducibility (as in
golang-github-vbatts-tar-split bug #798725):

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   sbuild-build-depends-golang-github-xordataexchange-crypt-dummy : Depends:
golang-github-coreos-go-etcd-dev but it is not installable
Depends:
golang-golang-x-crypto-dev but it is not installable

Please accommodate this policy by flipping the build dependencies

  golang-github-coreos-go-etcd-dev | golang-etcd-dev

and

  golang-golang-x-crypto-dev | golang-go.crypto-dev

until packages with the new names hit unstable.

Thanks!

can you please better explain what you have tried to do? Without a
better knowledge which component is provoking this issue we won't fix
this.

Have you started Icedove without any plugins in safe-mode? Wich plugins
you have normally installed?
Did this issue happen if you have only installed the package icedove
itself, no iceowl-extension or calendar-google-provider package
installed.
What is the outcome if you start icedove from a terminal (with/without)
extensions?
Which desktop environment you are using?

Please tell us more about the circumstances on your system.

installed.

I think libreoffice-nlpsolver needs a Depends on libreoffice-java-common.

Bug#800574: backport to sid/stable? (was RE: libc6: lock elision hazard on Intel Broadwell and Skylake)

This is very very likely to be braindamage on the NVIDIA driver, though.

Are you sure that driver is not doing something as idiotic as unlocking
an already unlocked mutex ?

The proper fix in that case is _always_ to fix whatever is broken,
because eventually it will run on something that has working hardware
lock elision... and crash.

> I tried first to update the Intel microcode with the "unreleased" 0x13

Mobile Broadwell-H seems to disable TSX, while Desktop Broadwell-H
doesn't. That's why we blacklisted the whole thing: inconsistent
behavior on the same microcode, and that behavior is itself inconsistent
with the errata sheet that says such processors shouldn't even be able
to advertise Intel TSX RTM in CPUID.

At the moment, we don't even know what is wrong with RTM in
Broadwell/Broadwel-H/Broadwell-DE. We do know some of what is wrong
with HLE in Broadwell/-H/-DE (and it is really nasty), but HLE is not
used by glibc in the first place, and the HLE erratum is supposedly
worked around somehow (because it is documented to be so on the Xeon
D-1500/Broadwell-DE) by the batch of microcode updates available in the
kernel bugzilla bug report mentioned in this bug report.

Broadwell-H Microcode 0x13 is useful anyway because it fixes other
critical errata that hangs/oopses the kernel: you box should be a _lot_
more stable with it. And at least one person reported that not all
hangs were fixed by microcode 0x12, thus you probably should use keep
using microcode 0x13 (or newer, should one become available).

> Finally I upgraded to glibc=2.21-0experimental2 and it fixed the crashes.

"Works around" a bug in the NVIDIA drivers is just as likely, see above.

If we instrumented non-lock-elision glibc to complain about operations
that are illegal on most processors implementing lock elision, we'd know
for sure.

> Should this patch be backported both to stable and unstable?

It needs to go to stable sooner than later, yes. But it seems wise to
let it cook in unstable/testing for a bit, first.

I don't know what the plans for uploading new glibc to unstable are.

Bug#802823: FS corruption with resume after hibernate

2015-10-23 Thread Kai Lüke
Package: dracut
Version: 043-4
Severity: grave

I'm not sure whether dracut or systemd is really the right place to take
care of this issue. I can't fully prove that my recent experiences of
ext4 corruptions with ro-remount shortly after resuming from hibernate
are related to this.

But here is a journalctl log out of dracut which seems to show that we
should make sure that no fsck takes place before the potential process
of resuming from hibernation is started.
In the Unit section of the service files the rules of Before and After
somehow make sense to me, but I have no trust right now, specially if
the systemd-fsck@[diskid] is the one run or systemd-fsck-root…

Anyway I think that no fsck for any device should be done before trying
to resume from hibernation, because the memory image might have mounted
it already with open files.

Workaround would be chaning passno value from 1 to 0 in /etc/fstab for
root or passing fsck.mode=skip as kernel cmdline or masking of
systemd-fsck* services.
I would be pleased to get responses how to go on with this, even if I'm
not right with my suspicion.
Regards,
Kai

Bug#802816: Remove gstreamer 0.10 in stretch

2015-10-23 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff

Severity: serious

gstreamer 0.10 is scheduled for removal, use this RC bug to keep it
out of testing (since removing it from unstable will take more time
than dropping it from stretch).

Good catch. Yeah, it's Java, should have the Depends...

Bug#802169: mysql-workbench: Can't install; package depends on libgdal.so.1-1.11.2 which isn't provided by any package

2015-10-23 Thread Clément Hermann
Package: mysql-workbench
Followup-For: Bug #802169

thanks

Hi,

I have the same problem in sid amd64. According to
https://packages.debian.org/sid/mysql-workbench

there is indeed a problem with virtual package libgdal.so.1-1.11.2 which
is not available. This will prevent package installation on
architectures that has this dependancy, so at least on i386 and amd64.

So, reopening. Feel free to correct me if I'm misleaded.

Cheers !

I've applied a workaround to libsigc++-2.0 which sets -std=c++11 via
pkg-config. This should allow pink-pony to build again. Thus making this
bug non-RC.
I'll keep this bug open though, since I want to drop that hack from
libsigc++-2.0 again. This can happen once all affected packages either
explicitly specify -std=c++11 (e.g. via CXXFLAGS in debian/rules [1]) or
GCC6 becomes the default compiler, which will switch to -std=gnu++14

Michael

No, it is not even suggested.

Now, a (used to be missing) feature that used to be silently ignored
triggers an error.

Feel free to reopen it since node-source-map is nowhere in the
dependency chain of node-

Bug#802671: Tentative patches for version 1.44

2015-10-23 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Hello,

I have backported the relevant commits to version 1.44 and the result
is in the attached patches. The package builds fine but I have not
tested it and I'm not sure how to properly test it... if you have
suggestions, I'm happy to hear them.

I have asked an upstream developer (Peter Dettman) to review it.

Cheers,

Subject: [PATCH] Add automatic EC point validation for decoded points and for
 multiplier outputs.
Origin: upstream, https://github.com/bcgit/bc-java/commit/5cb2f05
Bug-Debian: https://bugs.debian.org/802671

Backporting notes of Raphaël Hertzog:
* core/src/main/java/org/bouncycastle/ in current git
  was src/org/bouncycastle/ in 1.44
* DSTU4145PointEncoder.java does not exist in 1.44 (introduced
  in 158b54f). Dropped the changes.
* AbstractECMultiplier.java does not exist in 1.44 but changes to
AbstractECMultiplier.java mean that we must run
ECAlgorithms.validatePoint() on any result of the multiply() function of
any object implementing ECMultiplier. Done on:
  - FpNafMultiplier.java
  - ReferenceMultiplier.java
  - WNafMultiplier.java
  - WTauNafMultiplier.java
* …/math/ec/custom/* were not present in 1.44. Dropped the corresponding
  changes.
* Remaining changes have been manually backported:
  - ECPointTest.java: done
  - ReferenceMultiplier.java: done, added validatePoint() call on result
  - ECAlgorithms.java: done
  - ECPoint.java: done
- Fp does not yet support getCompressionYTilde(), dropped from
  AbstractFp
- F2m does not yet support checkCurveEquation()
- dropped constructors accepting 4 params (with "zs") as ECPoint()
does not support it, and dropped all code path that made use of this.zs
since it's not available, basically everything related to non-affine
  coordinate system
  - ECCurve.java:
- Hunk 1: validatePoint() not backported as there is no createPoint() call
to replace. Instead ensure decodePoint() return value satisfies
  ECAlgorithms.validatePoint()
- Hunk 2: no importPoint() (and no createPoint() usage found)
- Hunk 3: useless (no-op change)
- Hunk 4: useless (no-op change)
- Hunk 5: validation on generated point at end of function
- Hunk 6: done
- Hunk 7: done (auto-applied)
- Hunk 8/9: ECCurve is abstract and has no constructor, don't call
parent constructors in Fp constructors (which happens in code
  from hunk 7 adding AbstractFp)
- Hunk 10: ECCurve.Fp does not have decompressPoint() in 1.44, so the whole
AbstractFp class was in fact useless, drop it and make Fp extends
  ECCurve again.
End of hunk not applied, the AbstractF2m class is not needed as its
sole purpose is to factorize a call to buildField() that version
  1.44 does not have.
- Hunk 11/12/13: Not applied as we don't introduce AbstractF2m.
- Hunk 14: yp is already initialized as null in 1.44.
- Hunk 15: decompressPoint() is really implemented differently... and
even has different parameters. Just add the final check for yp==null
and don't change the logic in the function.

The resulting.map file has been constructed previously from
package/ncurses.map:

,
| sed -e "s/_\*;//g" < /«BUILDDIR»/ncurses-6.0+20151017/package/ncurses.map

`

If I replace package/ncurses.map with resulting.map, I get the same
complaint from ld. The only change in ncurses.map compared to the
previous (working) version in ncurses 6.0+20150810-1 is this:

After the sed substitution, this leads to the "local:" directive in

Justification: fails to build from source

Automated builds of docker-registry have been failing due to the
autobuilders' policy of disregarding alternatives in most cases for
the sake of reproducibility (as in golang-github-vbatts-tar-split bug
#798725):

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   sbuild-build-depends-docker-registry-dummy : Depends:
golang-github-docker-docker-dev but it is not installable
Depends:
golang-golang-x-crypto-dev but it is not installable
Depends:
golang-gopkg-check.v1-dev but it is not installable
Depends:
golang-gopkg-yaml.v2-dev but it is not installable

Please flip the relevant Build-Depends clauses until packages with the
new names hit unstable.

Thanks!

The patch is already committed to our stable branch:

http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-glibc?view=revision=6644

The plan is to upload it to stable-proposed-updates once we have more
fixes in (mostly the nscd bugs) or we are getting close to the next
point release.

The plan is to get glibc 2.21 to unstable soon.

Hi maintainer,

your package ninix-aya currently still depends on GStreamer 0.10.

GStreamer 0.10 is no longer maintained and supported by the upstream
project since almost 3 years, and contains many known bugs that are
fixed in the new 1.x release series of GStreamer. Next to many bug
fixes, the new release series also contains many other improvements,
new features and a more streamlined API.

For the next Debian release GStreamer 0.10 is planned to be removed,
and if your package is not updated it might not be included in the
release. Please update your package to use the new version as soon as
possible.

If you need any help with porting or have further questions, please
feel free to also contact me privately.

Best regards, Sebastian

Konsole does not uses libqt5x11extras5, so there is no way that this is the
real culprit.

It might possibly be the lack of libqt5xcbqpa5 on your system. Please either
upgrade your system or manually install libqt5xcbqpa5 and restart your sddm
session.

Please reply this mail with the results.

Bug#801413: polarssl: CVE-2015-5291: Remote attack on clients using session tickets or SNI

2015-10-23 Thread James Cowgill
Hi,

So regardless of the ABI issues affecting jessie, the first thing to do
is to fix this in unstable which can be done by just uploading 1.3.14
and doing an ABI transition.

I've attached a debdiff for an NMU to experimental which would start
this off. The orig tarball is not included in the diff to make it
easier to read. Instead it can be downloaded from upstream here

https://tls.mbed.org/download/mbedtls-1.3.14-gpl.tgz
sha1sum: 690ae3cc3da82cfc5530f5cb1f82bec0c778b5dc

So the package doesn't conflict with the mbedtls 2 package (in NEW),
and so none of the API is broken, the only thing changed was the SONAME
of the library and the package name. The symlinks used by ld and the
names of the binaries all keep the 'polarssl' name instead of being
renamed to 'mbedtls'.

Thanks,

Bug#802405: maven-project-info-reports-plugin: FTBFS: Missing: org.apache.maven.scm:maven-scm-provider-hg:jar:debian

2015-10-23 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud

thanks

I have attached a patch which makes maven-project-info-reports-plugin
build successfully again. The issue was introduced when the
providers in maven-scm was split into a separate package in version
1.3-6, so I've solved it by adding this to dependencies.

Currently libmaven-scm-providers-java depends on libmaven-scm-java
which means it will be pulled in indirectly. I don't know whether
other parts of maven-scm are used as well and if this should be an
explicit dependency.

Bug#802760: python-requests 2.7.0 incompatible with urllib3 1.12

2015-10-23 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: python-requests
Version: 2.4.3-6
Severity: grave

Hi,

I've tried to build python-glanceclient with python-requests 2.7.0 and
version 1.12 of python-urllib3, and it just broke (ie: FTBFS). Building
python-glanceclient with version 1.11-2 of urllib3 worked, and also,
upgrading python-requests to 2.8.1 worked as well.

As you must know (because upstream got in touch with you), urllib3 and
requests are very tighly coupled, and you cannot upgrade one without
upgrading the other.

The way forward with this, IMO, is to upgrade requests to 2.8.1.

Thanks for maintaining requests,
Cheers,

Thomas Goirand (zigo)

Hi,

The version currently in the archive (1.4.2) has been released about a
year and a half ago while upstream updates almost on a monthly basis.

Among missing features, sourcemap support was added on 2013-10-21
(1.5.0), and upstream released 2.1.1 last month.

Regards

David

For the bugreport on updating to newer release, sourcemap support is a
_feature_, not a bug. Please don't mix unrelated bugreports even if
tied to same functionality.

It _is_ usable: It is declared as a recommendation (since it is not a
crucial feature needed in all situations).

Closing this as a non-bug.

(please note that closing the bug does not imply closing the discussion
surrounding it: you are welcome to argue further, and I will still
listen)
