Does this bug really warrant being serious? As it is we risk having this
package removed from testing. Is this justified?

Dear maintainer:

I tried to build this package in stretch with "dpkg-buildpackage -A"

You two already were admins.

I also fixed the repo permissions (which could have been done by every admin

This was caused by updating to 1.12.1 then. This needs changes even from
1.11 to 1.12 migration https://jqueryui.com/upgrade-guide/1.12/ I have
asked upstream help https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/25302

Please give a heads up to maintainers of reverse dependencies before
updating to a newer version next time.

When many maintainers do this breaking updates without consulting
maintainers of reverse dependencies (update of jquery to version 3 broke
diaspora), it is seriously demotivating to maintain large packages like
gitlab and diaspora. There will be many to break but not many to help
fix. It took years of work to bring these packages to their current
state and having to fix these issues at the last moment of a release is
not fun.

Severity: serious
thanks

Hi,

building the alljoyn packages (alljoyn-core-1504, alljoyn-core-1509,
alljoyn-core-1604) with googletest and gcc-6 gives the following compile
error. I guess the "#include " jusst needs to be replaced by "#include
" for gcc-6 now.

Thanks!
 Thorsten

Sorry not to have a fix, as I am reporting many bugs similar to
this one, but I can give some general hints:

* If all the arch-independent packages are dummy transitional packages
released with jessie, the easy fix is to drop them now.

* If not, debian/rules should be modified so that the binary-indep
target works in all cases, even when binary-arch is not used (this is
what the "Architecture: all" autobuilder does). For that:

* If you are using debhelper, you might want to use options -a and -i
for dh_* commands so that they do not act on packages they do not
have to act.

* Also, if you are using dh, the (independently) optional targets
override_dh_foo-arch and override_dh_foo-indep (for several values
of "foo") may be useful to write a debian/rules which behaves exactly
as desired.

After checking that both "dpkg-buildpackage -A" and "dpkg-buildpackage -B"

I can confirm your findings. Downgrading libjs-jquery-ui to 1.10.1+dfsg-1 and
ruby-jquery-ui-rails to 5.0.5-3 fixed the problem I reported here.

Thanks a lot for investigating this issue and finding a workaround for me so
quickly!

checkpolicy will soon fail to build from source, beause flex drops
its dependency on libfl-dev. Since checkpolicy uses parts of
libfl-dev (e.g. libl.a, libfl.a or FlexLexer.h), it should add
libfl-dev to its Build-Depends. This change was previously
announced[1] to debian-devel in accordance with DevRef 7.1.1. Please

Yes and no. You seem to be running a weird mixture of old and new
versions of the pjproject libs

I assume when you update all libs to the same release it will work.

I think python bindings should depend on the libs of the same version.
I'll have a look on how to code this dependency into the package. But I
don't agree that this is a grave bug.

Bug#847014: python-pjproject: undefined symbol: pjmedia_endpt_create

2016-12-04 Thread Roland Koebler
Package: python-pjproject
Version: 2.5.5~dfsg-3
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

python-pjproject is broken; when trying to use it, it reports an
undefined symbol and aborts:

$ python
>>> import pjsua
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "", line 1, in
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/pjsua.py", line 59, in
import _pjsua
ImportError: /usr/lib/libpjsua.so.2: undefined symbol: pjmedia_endpt_create

I guess that this is a packaging issue.

This worked for me because I had the automake1.11 package installed in
the chroot where I was building.

So a build-dependency on automake1.11 is additionally required.

Package: krb5
Version: 1.15~beta1-1
Severity: serious

Hi,
we were made aware of a license violation in krb5 - but the issue applies
to Debian just as well so I wanted to report to you as well

In the file src/ccapi/common/win/OldCC/autolock.hxx is a reference to the
Alladin license.
There is no actual copy of the license file included and no other
mentioning of it, just the hxx files boilerplate mentioning.

The License is listed to be a reason to make a package part of "non-free"
at https://www.debian.org/legal/licenses/.
Be careful when checking for it, while the Licence really is "Aladin" the
code references it as "Alladin".

As a matter of fact it seems that this file is not shipped in the Binaries,
nor used to build them - it only is part of the source that is used. Yet I
think it is a violation that should be fixed.

2016-12-04 Thread Daniel Stender
Control: severity -1 important

This is a toolchain problem. s390x support is currently removed for golang-go
[1].
And rdependend packages are going to be removed [2].

I'll leave this bug open until this happened.

Bug#846730: cf-python: FTBFS: XXX

2016-12-04 Thread Klaus Zimmermann
Hi,

this seems to be due to a change in the dependency netcdf4-python that
has been updated 4 days ago. I tracked down the problem and am working
on a patch.

Cheers
Klaus

There was only major reshuffling in the building. The final js and css
files are, minus whitespace, identical to the files shipped upstream. So
if this is an issue with the js or css file, it is an upstream issue.

I am very inexperienced in debugging javascript, so I'd appreciate any
help to fix this issue.

Dear Maintainer,

The .egg-info shipped with rpl 1.5.5-1 contains an invalid unicode byte
in the author field that causes pkg_resources to crash on load.

I've attached a copy of the crash that results.

Bug#843464: jmol: diff for NMU version 12.2.32+dfsg2-1.1

2016-12-04 Thread tony mancill
Control: tags 843464 + patch
Control: tags 843464 + pending

Dear maintainer,

I've prepared an NMU for jmol (versioned as 12.2.32+dfsg2-1.1) and
uploaded it to DELAYED/5. Please feel free to tell me if I
should delay it longer or cancel it.

The upload contains a patch to address the FTBFS introduced by the
upload of libnaga-java 3.0 to Debian. I have tested locally that
jmol starts correctly, but am not a jmol user and so cannot speak
to all of the functionality. (However, the patch is a simple
interface change, so I am reasonably confident that it does not
introduce regressions.)

Regards,

Bug#846816: java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: DLU2

2016-12-04 Thread Felix Natter
hi Vincent,
hi Gregor,

I think that since the stack trace contains an invocation of GNOME's
AtkWrapper, that may be the problem (we've had problems with this
before!).

@Vincent/@Gregor: Could you please try the following (with the old
freeplane-1.5.16-2)? (please do NOT remove your ~/.config/freeplane
before)

- find out which java you are using:

$ ls -lh /etc/alternatives/java
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 46 Oct  9  2015 /etc/alternatives/java ->
/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk-amd64/jre/bin/java

- edit /etc/java-8-openjdk/accessibility.properties
(please use the correct one for your java version)

- comment out this line:
#assistive_technologies=org.GNOME.Accessibility.AtkWrapper

- start freeplane again (from console)

Thanks for Reporting & Testing,

2016-12-04 Thread John Paul Adrian Glaubitz
Hi!

I'm Joerg's sponsor and he's already prepared an updated package to fix
this issue. I will upload it in the following days. I am currently doing
an extensive review before the upload, there are quite some changes to
the source package.

The recent upload of naga 3.0 [1] broke jmol. I'm looking into a patch
to port jmol to use libnaga-java_3.0.

Maybe we should have this package moved to collab-maint or python

What do you think?

Hi Joseph,

maybe collab-maint would be best, but it's your call. Do you still

Sorry, I fucked this up. I will get joseph an admin tomorrow.

Strangely, the package builds fine in the porterbox and with a

Thanks for any input (if this could be worked around in the AFL package),
I'll try to seek what's causing this in the build toolchain.

And with pretty-print option of chromium, this is where the error occurs,

(function(t) {

After purge and reinstall, the issue is still there.
On git.fosscommunity.in libjs-jquery-ui is 1.10.1+dfsg-1 and it works.

So I think this was introduced in libjs-jquery-ui 1.12.1+dfsg, there was
some major reshuffle. See https://tracker.debian.org/news/810960

It is a bit more complicated.

Clamping to something like 80% of INTPTR_MAX might be good enough
for practical purposes, but technically this limit is not related
to INTPTR_MAX.

Addressable are actually 4 GB.

The problem is that these 4 GB are split between user memory and
kernel lowmem.

On several architectures (e.g. i386, ARM) it is actually a configure
option of the kernel whether you want 1 GB, 2 GB or 3 GB of user memory
(with accordingly less kernel lowmem).

< 2 GB user memory is unlikely to be a configuration you will see
in practice (especially not on the buildds), so staying some margin
below 2 GB on 32 bit (e.g. 80% of INTPTR_MAX) should work fine in
practice.

Right, I'm aware of the distinction, but I guess I was wrongly
assuming the lzma_physmem() function would return (userspace)
addressable physical memory. Checking it now, it seems like not,
as it uses stuff like sysconf(_SC_PHYS_PAGES).

Ah, thanks, I'm testing as I write this a new patch I've prepared on
eller.d.o (mipsel) which seems to have the right conditions.

The patch now clamps the physical memory to INTPTR_MAX. So that we both
do not exceed the physical memory available nor the addressable limit.

But I should indeed probably also subtract some space for the rest of
the userland that might be running. I'll do that later today.

This has been brought up on d-d some time ago. And many of the
packages affected do not even really benefit from such extreme
settings as the dictionary size is bigger than the actual data
to compress. There's a bug in lintian to report an error on this.

Thanks,

GCC started to default to PIE between the latest perl upload and the
one before that. I think that made it use different memory locations,
so the cast to int now overflows.

I believe the above architectures, and Ubuntu amd64 as well, were
defaulting to PIE earlier so that's why they run into this when
Debian/amd64 was still fine.
