Bug#749364: lucene-solr: FTBFS - java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/tomcat/util/descriptor/LocalResolver
Le 30/05/2014 23:51, Hideki Yamane a écrit : It seems to be caused by changes in tomcat6 upstream. Once failed to build lucene-solr, I've downgraded libtomcat6-java package to libtomcat6-java_6.0.35-6+deb7u1_all.deb and then succeeded to build. This exception is caused by a new dependency of jasper on coyote in the recent versions of Tomcat 6. The Solr classpath has to be modified to include /usr/share/tomcat6/lib/tomcat-coyote.jar. Bug#739190: netenv doesn't come up initializing via systemd

Running netenv by sysvinit everthing seems to be ok. Under systemd all services run in a defined context. This also means you can't prompt for input by reading from the console. # X-Interactive: true as used by the netenv sysv init script does not work by design. See [1]: Services cannot read from stdin, as this will be connected to /dev/null. That means interactive init scripts are not supported (i.e. Debian's X-Interactive in the LSB header is not supported either.) Thankfully most distributions do not support interaction in init scripts anyway. If you need interaction to ask disk or SSL passphrases please consider using the minimal password querying framework systemd supports. Remains openvpn and apache2 which potentially require it to unlock SSL certificates, but openvpn now ships a native service file. That leaves netdev. Tbh I don't know what to do about that. The password agents [2] were designed to prompt for passphrases, not to select from a list from pre-defined values. So they are not applicable to the case. While you can change a service file's StandardInput= setting so it actually get's access to the console during boot, a systemctl start netdev.service in you terminal emulator does not work with that either afair. But for this case you could simply provide a command-line tool like netenv-select or so As a closing remark, let me add that it is generally discouraged to prompt for input during boot. Bug#749888: gnome-terminal: FTBFS on kfreebsd hurd archs
Hi, I find it very strange that a terminal application needs gnome-shell. There are dozens of terminal applications, and so far they seem to manage without dragging their own desktop environment of choice with them. Which makes me wonder: Does gnome-terminal actually work without gnome-shell? Is this setup properly tested and supported by upstream? In other words, does upstream release procedure account for the possibility that one might want to use gnome-terminal without gnome-shell, and do their QA procedures ensure that the resulting package will be usable? I fully expect a yes as answer. If that's not the case, then I think it'd be much better to change Architecture field instead so that it's only built on archs where it's actually supported. -- Robert Millan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#749718: FTBFS on s390x
Argg, indeed, there is one place left ... in the libpaper code. I uploaded a new texlive-base that *disables* the luajittex format completely. Bug#740491: Should #740491 and #740574 be merged?
Hello, I see that, after this bug was reported, another bug report (#740574) was filed against libtirpc1, mentioning #740491. Are these two bug reports about the same issue? Should #740574 be upgraded to severity 'serious' and merged with #740491, after reassigning one of the two reports to the other package? What do you think? I hope the issue may be fixed soon (unfortunately libtirpc1 seems to be orphan...). Hi Michael. I've been trying to reproduce this without success on all possible non/chrooted pbuilder/cowbuilder and architectures (even though is arch:all) combinations. You can see them attached. Could it be possible this is due to some environment limitations on the jenkins or a one shot thing? Is is possible for you to trigger a new clean rebuild for this pkg? Thanks in advance. Bug#749888: gnome-terminal: FTBFS on kfreebsd hurd archs
Please accept my apologies. Apparently my previous mail wasn't clear enough for everyone. So please allow me to ellaborate: The text had a statement and some questions. One can tell them appart because questions end with a '?' sign, and statements don't. The questions are what I'd really like to know, whereas the statement merely acts as an introduction. This is not a question: I find it very strange that a terminal application needs gnome-shell. There are dozens of terminal applications, and so far they seem to manage without dragging their own desktop environment of choice with them. I don't expect an answer on this, and I'm not asking anyone to research this. I could have researched it myself, but I don't have a special interest in the answer per se, only about its implications (see below). These are questions: Which makes me wonder: Does gnome-terminal actually work without gnome-shell? Is this setup properly tested and supported by upstream? In other words, does upstream release procedure account for the possibility that one might want to use gnome-terminal without gnome-shell, and do their QA procedures ensure that the resulting package will be usable? Unfortunately I cannot answer them myself, because I'm not familiar with GNOME development procedures, nor with the implied commitments that come with them. It would be very nice if the GNOME maintainers can cast some light on this. Judging from their previous response [1] I suspect they are reluctant to provide support for non-standard configurations. But of course, and explicit answer will be much better than speculation. The build also succeed with sbuild (which I believe is the closest thing to the buildd configuration one can easily install) so I honestly wonder if the bug doesn't actually lie in the rebuild method or toolchain, rather than in the package. I have finally gotten to the bottom of the issue, which isn't at all in php-guzzle-stream: it seems the version of dpkg in wheezy (1.16.14) would not honour the file mode when applying patches. Thus your patch wouldn't create a symlink, but instead creates a plain file. As my set up is such that I extract the package in a wheezy environment but then build in sid, the build process would honour the file mode. I'll see whether I can fix my build environment ... Bug#750018: mysql-workbench hangs on any attempt to connect to a database.
On Sat, 31 May 2014 18:34:50 sherif wrote: Severity: grave Please do not panic and use correct severity as documented in: https://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#severities If I start mysql-workbench, it seems to start OK, but as soon as I try to do anything it completely locks up (unresponsive). The lock up seems to be triggered by ANY attempt to connect to a database, making the application unusable. This fault has only recently appeared (until about a week ago it worked normally). I assume therefore that some dependency has changed and causes a crash. I'm unable to confirm your findings on up-to-date testing. Please have a look at recently installed packages in /var/log/apt/history.log and try to isolate the responsible package. Try to confirm the problem by downgrading it. Please try newer mysql-workbench from unstable as well. Is it affected? Also it may be helpful to ensure integrity of installed packages with debsums. -- Cheers, Dmitry Smirnov GPG key : 4096R/53968D1B signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#746824: Patch aptitude: ftbfs with GCC-4.9
Hello, I have put together a patch to bug http://bugs.debian.org/746824 It consists of removal of unused funtions. There is also a reference to a private member, the Patch simply comments out the faulty code, not a nice fix. With patch applied the codes builds using dpkg-buildpackage in jessie/sid. Comments welcome. Description: gcc 4.9 FTBFS corrections -Werror=unused-function serialize_pattern_list in src/generic/apt/matching/serialize.cc strncase_eq_with_translation in src/main.cc transcode in tests/test_cmdline_download_status_display.cc Unused functions removed. Private member apply in strip_shared_ptrs_result: BOOST_STATIC_ASSERT code commented out. Needs a better solution. Bug#750050: ieee-data: updated files should be placed in /var
Package: ieee-data Severity: serious Usertags: fhs The update-oui script places the new files in /usr instead of /var. I would suggest a scheme were installing the package gets you the defaults in /usr/share/ieee-data/defaults/*.txt plus symlinks to the /var dir in /usr/share/ieee-data/*.txt and at package install time the defaults are copied to /var and at package remove/purge time the copies in /var are removed.
