For some reason I do read a deeper idea in it. Such as
"If we provide '$vendor.mirror.debian.org DNS stuff',
then we can do smart things like "
Is it?

The lxc provider generates .tar.xz images for Linux containers
and also Proxmox containers. It is based upon the docker provider.
Difference between LXC and Proxmox ConTainer,
is that for PCT is file /etc/appliance.info added.

Or perhaps:
Can a bootstrap-vz generated Docker images in plain LXC environments?

As I read https://cloud.debian.org/images/cloud/ and look at
Last_modified column, it seems to me like various stalled builds.
Only OpenStack is recently build.

lso don't understand how cloudinit works.
There is https://cloudinit.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
But it lacks what it makes it tick.
Nowhere is documented
* how it starts (what triggers the start)
* how "client" finds "server"
* why "client" trusts "server"

However I doubt that original poster has seen

In case you are not using ifupdown,

Where to sent patches for `configure-pat.sh`?
By the way, what does the ' -o' in `ip -o route show default`?
I'm asking because it seems to not be needed.

There I read "No cloud-init support in generic Debian image&quo

What I understand from it, is that you need to provide SSH key.
