I think you are one more suffering from Bug #726763.

This should be fixed by either installing systemd-shim or by installing
systemd-sysv and thus switching to the new default init system called
 systemd.

I hope I could help you.

I agree - on SID however the problem was the same, until I enabled systemd. It
solved my suspend issues.

Hey.

[Canonical Hardware Certification Hat on]

While this slightly orthogonal to your problem I'd like to take this
opportunity to make you and other readers aware of the checkbox project [1]
(available as checkbox-ng in Debian). We have a wide range of functional
tests for modern hardware, including detailed suspend/resume test, special
function keys and such. You, and others, can use checkbox to run selected
tests [3] and share results in a standardized way [4]. If you have any
questions feel free to send us messages [5] or chat with us on IRC [6].

Best regards
Zygmunt Krynicki

issues related to suspend.

1. Fn + F7 doesn't suspend the laptop. (was working in Debian wheezy)

2. Closing the Lid doesn't suspend either. I remember there was an
option in Tweak Tools to suspend the laptop... Can't find it anymore.
Was is removed or move somewhere else ?

3. Finnaly, the only was I manage to suspend the laptop is using the
menu in the top-right corner. I'm use it multiple time and each time,
the laptop seams to wakeup for unknown reason. Meaning, after hours I
notice the laptop is no longer in suspend mode.

I'm not a expert, so I will needs your tips to provide you the right
information.

Hi Patrik,

This is off-topic for debian-devel. Please try asking your question on
debian-user. They might help you to narrow down what components are not
working, and point you at any existing bug that has been filed, failing
that help you to file a new one.

Thanks
