The only issue that I know of is using htdig with kdevelop and there is no clear guideline for that yet. Some of the issues are probably due to that the code isn't finished yet to move everything over to doxygen and to make the wizards recognize those docs as valid API yet, but this is a programming bug more than a packaging bug. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Ralf Thanks. On Mon, Feb 24, 2003 at 02:04:13AM +, Rene Horn wrote: I'm running KDE 3.1 official sources from SID. Antialiasing in KDE3.1
Hello there, I've got one question to the new KDE3.1. Does Font-Antialiasing now work with Woody? With KDE3.0.5, I think, there was to be some update for xfree86 installed (it didn't work properly when I tried, so I don't remember complete). I'm planning to install Woody completely new on my machine (something went veeery wrong by trying to install KDE3.1 :-)), so if there is an alternate xfree necessary, I could install it form the very beginning. thank's. KDE 3.1/Xinerama/Wallpaper
Hi, I'm using Ralf Nolden's KDE3.1 Debs and Xinerama. When I set a Wallpaper, the Wallpaper is spread across my two screens. So it looks very ugly. But I want the Wallpaper to be shown on each screen on it's own. Is this possible? Thanks! Sebastian

apt-get upgrade
I just made an apt-get upgrade on my woody box and there are a lot of new kde3.1 packages at ktown.kde.org/~nolden. After installing the new packages my desktop symbols have a very big space between icon and text. They looked normal at the beginning but after moving with the mouse over the icons they jumped about 20 pixel to right and down and the spacing between icon and text increased to the double size. I had the same problem in konqueror but after turning off Word-Wrap icon text it looks normal. Is there such an option for the desktop? Someone alse such a problem? Thanks for your help, Christian
KDE 3.1-woody: krec doesn't work
Hi, with Ralf's packages for woody my krec seems to not work. Last time I tried the utility was with KDE 2.2.2 and it worked well. Now, when I start krec, a message Your system is missing the Synth_STERO_COMPRESOR aRts module... appears and artsd dies. No matter if I start artsd with alsa or with oss support. Any hints? Kmail crypto-plugin
I use KDE 3.1 from ~/ktown.kde.org/~nolden/. I did apt-get upgrade and most? of KDE 3.1 was upgraded. Kmail used to be able to confirm gpg keys automagically, I have/had gnupg installed, configured working. Now I get a message : Message was signed with unknown key. The validity of the signature cannot be verified. Problem: OpenPGP plug-in was not specified. Something has changed in how Kmail handles signed emails. The help page for Kmail shows th folowing when queried about OpenPGP plugin. Installing Ägypten First, get the following packages: libgcrypt (= 1.1.10) libksba (= 0.4.6) newpg (= 0.9.4) gpgme 0.3.x (= 0.3.15; = 0.4.0) cryptplug 0.3.x (= 0.3.15) pinentry (= 0.6.8) Two questions, 1.Do users of Kamil have to use Ägypten? 2. The following packages seem to be missing from Debian or Ktown archives. gpgme = 0.3x, newpg= 0.9.4 -- Greg Madden
pinentry-qt and latest Debs on ktown - how to solve password problems.
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, to solve any password problems with pinentry-qt not coming up, please do rm -rf ~/.qt in your home directory before you log in into X. You may need to adjust your settings in kcontrol again for antialiasing after logging into X again. The problem cause is that the older Qt packages were heavily bad designed and built, and the root cause seems to be the plugins, which for the threaded (libqt-mt) build, which pinentry-qt uses, were installed into /usr/lib/qt3/plugins-mt. Madkiss and I worked for almost 4 weeks in fulltime more or less to restructure the Qt packages to what they are now; fish out any patches that go into qt-copy and only apply those fixes to the debian Qt build that can go in into a qt-3.1 version without adding more function calls for compatibility with other distros; except a 64 bit patch that Trolltech will add for Qt 3.2. Hello, I've installed kde3.1 from sid and all seems fine except artsd. It is configured ok and I can play wav files fine but every time I try to play an mp3 (in noatun, kaboodle...) artsd dies saying... artsd: relocation error: /usr/lib/libarts_mpeglib-0.3.0.so.0: undefined symbol: _ZN16ArtsOutputStreamC1EPFvPvE Also I get a lot of artsmessages saying unix_connect: can't connect to server (unix:/tmp/mcop-me/home-72f5-3e5a8ddf) I installed kde from the meta packages kdebase, libs, arts, multimedia so everything is there. Am I likely to be doing anything wrong? Thanks. tw -- __ Sign-up for your own FREE Personalized E-mail at Mail.com http://www.mail.com/?sr=signup

I installed KDE 3.1 yesterday and it's great so far. I was wondering if it is possible to change the logout prompt (as I've used in the past) to give the 3 radio button options of logout user, restart or shutdown? Currently, I have just a simple prompt with no options that says End Session for user. Thanks, Trey

no sound with kde 3.1 on woody - solved
Hi! KDE sound has not worked on my box with the current woody 3.1 packages. Running artsd on the command line failed to find libvorbisenc.so.0 I fixed it by installing package libvorbisenc2 1.0.0-1 and linking the old name to the new lib: cd /usr/lib/; ln -s libvorbisenc.so.2.0.0 libvorbisenc.so.0 Not really a nice way to fix it, but now sound works! Bye, Steffen
