I installed kde-plasma-desktop today with synaptic on sid and plasma
seemed to be working OK until I carried out a dist-upgrade which seems
to have removed kontact.
All my attempts to re-install kontact seem to result the error "Unable
to correct problems, you have held broken packages".

I'm aware its been some time since knode has been supported but until to-
days kdepim unstable upgrade knode has worked alongside kmail without
problems, but now want's to remove knode.
As I read all my mailing lists through a mail2news gateway (including this
one) and numerous other newsgroups

Yes that adds a "Show Massage Structure" item to the Main Toolbar from where
I can toggle the lower pane on and off.
After the recent upgrade to kmail 4:17.12.3-1 I am seeing Arabic characters
replacing punctuation marks in the kmail message pane.

Hi
I am running up-to-date Sid and during the latest dist-upgrade kde plasma fails
to initialize correctly with symptoms similar to bug #907301 (no
system tray with task bar and no context menu of desktop).
I have tried downgrading the recently upgraded packages to
plasma-workspace 4:5.14.5.1

It's difficult as this is a single user box.

Not as far as I am aware. The desktop hasn't changed for quite some time.

On further checking /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libkcupslib.so
is in the print-manager package.

It would seem to be a problem with the system tray settings. Removing the
"Printers" item from the tray allows cupsd and cups-browsed to run without
killing

Had another look today and found an outstanding print job on a switched off
network printer. I deleted that job and was able to add the 'Printers' item

it was caused by plasmashell interaction with an

Hi,
The upgrade to 4:22.08 in unstable seems to have lost the ability to paste
with the middle mouse button. Also the mouse middle button option is no
longer available in the Desktop Settings Plasmoid.
Do we know if there is a fix for this.
