This issue happens only after resume from hibernate, not during
normal boot. After some minutes, the graphical login screen appears,
the mouse pointer is visible and moving, but it's not possible to do
anything on that login
After several package upgrades in debian stretch, now I'm on a more recent
kernel than the one I had when I originally reported this bug:
~~~
solitone@alan:~$ uname -a
Linux alan 4.9.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.6-3 (2017-01-28
After several package upgrades in debian stretch, resume from hibernate does
no longer work at all on my system.
Now I'm on a more recent kernel than the one I had when I originally reported
this bug:
solitone@alan:~$ uname
Sorry, I meant:
$ xset -display :0 dpms force on
I've checked with ssh that, after resume, I have the following values in
backlight files brightness, actual_brightness, and bl_power:
$ cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness
1388
$ cat /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/actual_brightness
0
$ cat
When the screen is already switched off and then the system
hibernates, it won't resume correctly later on. Specifically, the
monitor will be switched off again at the end of the resume
process.
E.g. I give the following command in
