python3.3 status

2013-05-07 Thread Jakub Wilk

FTBFS TODO means that a package fails to build, but there's no bug
filed yet. I plan to file bugs today or tomorrow, unless there are

Re: python3.3 status

2013-05-07 Thread Yaroslav Halchenko
Thanks Jakub,

FWIW:

 cython produces broken code #681697

update WiP (for some reason did not build using python-dbg at all thus
dh_install failed... will troubleshoot shortly)

 nuitka FTBFS TODO

I believe fixed upstream -- if not -- will be, i.e. nothing to worry for
the team

debian-python doesn't deserve a similar communication (don't you dare
thinking about coordination, it's out of question) because we're just
a bunch of puppets waiting for orders by the ultimate master - well
done.

 I would suggest
moving on to more constructive topics.

sure let's ignore the problem, it's so much easier, isn't it? that's
how the whole story was handled, so I can see your point here.

well done, again.

RFS: bunch, kitchen, grapefruit, fabulous, stomper, txws, txzmq, moksha.common, moksha.hub

2013-05-07 Thread Simon Chopin
(or RFR, for Jakub :P)

Hello,

I'm looking for sponsors for all the packages above, all dependencies of
fedmsg in a way or another.

bunch, kitchen and grapefruit (I think) have all been already reviewed
by Jakub Wilk, all the remarks being adressed TTBMK.

From the ITPs:

bunch: Dot-accessible Python dictionary (a la JavaScript objects)
kitchen: Cornucopia of useful Python code
grapefruit: Python module to manipulate color information easily
fabulous: Makes your terminal output totally fabulous
stomper: Python client implementation of the STOMP protocol
txws: Twisted WebSockets wrapper
txzmq: ZeroMQ bindings for Twisted
moksha.common: Common components for Moksha
moksha.hub: Hub components for Moksha

Moksha is a combination of Web framework and messaging hub that is
written on top of widely-used and tested components such as Twisted, 0mq
or TurboGears.

All packages are available in the DPMT repository.

For those wondering, I'm left with m2ext, python-fedora and fedmsg
itself to package, and I might actually drop python-fedora from the list
:-)

Cheers,
Simon

Selectively quoting the tech committee resolution:

These breakdowns appear to be rooted in an unfortunate feedback loop, of
which all parties involved share some blame.

On multiple occasions, inflammatory comments regarding the employment
and/or motives of individuals involved in python have been made.

...

The committee expresses its disappointment in the communication problems
which have lead to this issue, and strongly suggests that all involved
parties be as awesome to each other as possible.

Please everyone, make an effort to be polite. I don't know the origin of
all the problems in debian-python (and frankly I don't want to), but it's
pretty clear that writing snarky messages isn't going to resolve them. If
you want to make a point, do so politely and people will be more inclined
to listen.

Thanks,
Thomas

Upload of python-mock 1.0.1 to Debian unstable

2013-05-07 Thread Simon Chopin
Hi,

I'd like to know if/when you plan to upload python-mock 1.0.1 in
unstable (it sits at the moment in experimental).

One of my packages, pytest, currently FTBFS in unstable due to the
recent Python 3.3 changes and the new upstream version build-depends on
python-mock = 1.0.1, so I guess you'd understand my desire to get this
fixed quickly.

Cc-ed Sebastian as he was my last sponsor for pytest

Cheers,
Simon
