Yup, Arch does. From the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Python

Any program requiring Python 2 needs to point to /usr/bin/python2, instead of
/usr/bin/python, which points to Python 3.

RFS: gladtex: new upstream version 2.1

Hi

I have packaged GladTeX 2.1 from :

 GladTeX is a preprocessor that enables the use of LaTeX equations within HTML
 files. The equations, embedded in ... tags, as if within $$..$$ in
 LaTeX, is fed through LaTeX and replaced by images.
 .
 Additionally all images get an alt-tag for alternative texts that contains the
 LaTeX-equivalent of the image. This is handy for text-mode browsers or blind
 people using a screen reader.

It builds the binary packages python3-gleetex and gladtex and has been checked 
to be
lintian-clean. It also builds fine in a clean pbuilder chroot.
It would be great if you could have a look and upload the package, if
everything is as expected.

I would ask whether you please could have a look at the package, so that I can
finish the packaging.

Building a module and an application package from one source

Hi,

I want to repackage GladTeX (it used to be Perl and has been rewritten in
Python). GladTeX comes with a module and an command-line application. Pybuild
copies all files into the package defined first in debian/control and I am not
sure how to separate the module from the application.

Is there an easy way to tell pybuild to distribute different parts of the build
output to different packages?

I have uploaded a snapshot of the package to . The
old version was maintained within the pkg-a11y domain, but it does not belong
there. Since I'm using gbp, I didn't want to fiddle around with svn-buildpackage
yet (used by PAPT).

Please tell me an alternate address and I'll fix it with the next upload. Before
requesting the upload, I had asked on the list for someone to have a look at the
package. After not receiving any comments after a while, I thought my package to

It is uploaded to the SVN. It builds fine with svn-buildpackage. I would be glad
if someone could have a glance at this little package; if there are no errors, I
would ask my sponsor to upload it.

I already have a sponsor and am maintaining some packages. The point is rather
that I would like too see me following all debian-python conventions from the
very beginning and therefore would like to see someone with some experience.

The package is really small (one Python file, actually) and I think you wouldn't
have too much trouble with it.

I am not that familiar with SVN packaging, but since I think it would be better
to maintain Python packages in the Python team, I'll file a request.
