the package is not maintained by a formal team (but there are 2 people
registered in Maintainers/Uploaders) so that wont be possible.

Piotr,
how much more should we wait for a dh-python upload to address this?
it's now more than a month i opened the MR about it; if you're busy,
just let us know and i'll NMU, but we really need this fixed so that
we can start properly migrate rdpes to `pylint`.

Thanks,
Sandro

Re: [Python-apps-team] pylint3 reverse dependencies.

2019-10-04 Thread Sandro Tosi
Piotr, please do not hold onto the upload - the reason is still there
it's because it's a cruft package, which will be removed once we fix
dh-python and make pylint conflict with pylint3 (instead of just
provide it), which we currently cant do due to dh-python still
producing the pylint3 dependency.

still contains pylint3 so I'm waiting with an dh-python upload for now

Yes this is a known issue and we are currently waiting for an upload
of dh-python to avoid automatic replacement of pylint by pylint3 when
on python3 before pushing those changes further.
There were several discussions already on the subject on the
debian-python list but as long as dh-python is still automatically
replacing pylint by pylint3 there's not much the reverse deps can
really do afaik.

pylint3 reverse dependencies.

pylint3 is now a cruft package, however it still has a fair few reverse

Are there plans to deal with this centrally or should bugs be filed against all
the reverse dependencies.
