Bug#381761: tidev-modules-source: postinst/postrm depmod -- update templates to use dh_installmodules instead
Hello Matej, On Sunday 13 August 2006 06:21, Matej Vela wrote: [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: this bug report is part of a mass-bugfiling. Your package tidev-modules-source is calling depmod in its postinst and/or postrm scripts. [...] As far as I can tell, no, it isn't. Where's the catch? sorry, tidev-modules-source got probably by accident into the list. Anyway looking at I see that it is calling 'update-modules', though the man page of update-modules says that it is obsolete. Maybe a good chance to fix this? We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following package(s) have been removed from unstable: libjpeg-mmx |0.1.5-4 | source libjpeg-mmx-dev |0.1.5-4 | i386 libjpeg-mmx-progs |0.1.5-4 | i386 Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug. Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the earliest. Bug#380848: Renaming jaxml to python-jaxml
Jerome Alet [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: On Tue, Aug 01, 2006 at 11:45:49PM +0200, Matej Vela wrote: Well, my gut feeling is that jaxml is dead upstream and not likely to be adopted (I've never had much luck contacting Victor, cf. #305460, #312834, #317408). I'll be glad to be proven wrong of course. Your feeling was incorrect. The fact that there's no new upstream release doesn't mean that the project is dead. Being the original author, I can confirm it is not. I'm glad to hear that. However, we do need a Debian maintainer for jaxml -- it hasn't had one for a year and a half -- so I'd still like to hear from Victor. I'm just back from holidays and seeing a lot of debian messages about this software. I'm currently trying to read the 1500 messages which waited for me to be back, when this is done, if something has to be changed to jaxml I'll do it. The necessary changes were Debian-specific, and have been taken care of by Pierre [1] and me [2]. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) ---BeginMessage--- Package: dmachinemon Severity: normal dmachinemon Build-Depends upon doc++. doc++ has been replaced by Doxygen for quite some time, and is no longer maintained. It will now no longer build from source (see #292337). Please could you update the package to use Doxygen instead? I have attached example patches to bug #307554, which should be useful as a guide to fixing this. The paths and names will need a little tweaking. The example configuration file isn't optimised for C, but turning off the class diagrams and enabling the optimise output for C option should correct this. Bug#381761: tidev-modules-source: postinst/postrm depmod -- update templates to use dh_installmodules instead
On Sunday 13 August 2006 21:58, Matej Vela wrote: retitle 381761 tidev-modules-source: update-modules deprecated thanks Bernd Schubert [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: sorry, tidev-modules-source got probably by accident into the list. Anyway looking at I see that it is calling 'update-modules', though the man page of update-modules says that it is obsolete. Maybe a good chance to fix this? If you can provide a patch, sure (the package is orphaned). Pity, I just (2 weeks ago) throw away my self-made serial cable to connect my Ti85 - didn't use it for 5 years and it was, erm lets say, not the best thing I ever soldered :) I also didn't know and never checked that connecting Ti calculators is supported on Linux. Attached are two patches. One is to remove the postinst script (there's even no update-devfsd script in unstable) and adjusts the deb_helper dependency and the other patch fixes module_param() for newer kernel versions. Now that I know there I could connect my Ti85 in Linux I might consider to resolder a new cable. However, I'm pretty sure I don't have time to that at least until February 2007. Do you think tidev can stay in unstable until that time? I would report back in February or March and ask to maintain it.
