Since "dates" is orphaned and seems pretty dead upstream, I'd
suggest removing this package.
The package seems to have been dropped from both Ubuntu and Fedora already.

I've filed a removal bug for this package since "contacts" is orphaned,
unmaintained upstream, no longer builds, and "gnome-contacts" is
probably a better alternative these days... See Bug#723772
